This project is investigated the spatial directionality composition, which is derived from the researches of certain geometric and logical principles, such as stereotomy and descriptive geometry. According to a specific methodology, the idea is intended to explore the possibility of three dimensional space with directionality, which is based on the transformation of the volume under the vaulting system.

In the case study of the Church of Jacobins, the ribs and groins are summarized as the crucial factors that generated the three dimensional vaulting in the directionality of tectonic and materiality. Furtherly, the volume formed by the vaulting represents the spatial directionality. The volume formed by peculiar vaulting could be considered as a primary research object, which could be defined as a "space with directionality". Subsequently, three compound operation proposals are introduced as a spatial design methodology, while each of them synthesizes several layers of geometric principle. Therefore, the spatial directionality could be achieved through the arrangement and combination of those operation, and this process could be defined as the spatial directionality composition. The ad hoc product is generated ergonomic considerations, and created a distinctive space with the variation of the activities such as meditation. The symmetrical form appears in the final product to salute the basic form of the Church of Jacobins.
