1966 Circle....................................................7 The Annual Fund helps us enhance the compensation of our faculty; it enables improvements to both our educational program and our physical plant; it permits us to offer a range of extracurricular activities that make Hyde, well… extraordinary. It’s certainly no stretch to say that it contributes mightily to the qualities that fuel our “happy-go-lucky throng.” If you are reading this letter, you are probably a member of that throng. Chances are you either went to school at Hyde or you love someone who once did or is currently enrolled. Regardless of your affiliation, know that you are among the hundreds of generous contributors who gave over $1M in support of Hyde last year. On behalf of our students, parents, faculty and staff, I thank you for your generosity. While I don’t fear that Hyde will ever become a vanilla experience, I know that the best way to guard against this is to ensure that Hyde stays relentlessly focused on value-added objectives. Your support helps us do just that. I can’t promise you that the students who move into Bath’s new residence hall next year or those

who stroll through Woodstock’s newly re-designed campus quad will connect these improvements to your generosity. In fact, it’s a safe bet that they won’t. (Not only did I not make those connections when I was a Hyde student, back then I never could have imagined writing a letter like this one!) However, I assure you that the faculty and I do, and I am willing to bet that someday these kids will as well. In the meantime, since that could take a while, (After all, I graduated forty years ago this summer!) many thanks to each and every one of you for making Hyde a priority in your life. Know that we’ll continue to strive to be worthy of your belief and confidence in our efforts by vigilantly working to deliver on that extraordinary thing. Onward,

Schools Community when their son, Mike, Jr., enrolled in 1989. Their passion for Hyde and vision for education helped to remind others why they’d chosen to become members of the Hyde Schools family. Mike served as Hyde’s Chief Financial Officer, Director of Admissions, Director of Development, Associate Head of School, teacher, and coach. Mike worked on both the Maine and Connecticut campuses, where he mentored both students 9
