BENEFITS OF THE V-FARM PATENTED RACK SYSTEM OVER STANDARD VERTICAL SYSTEMS
ENERGY Energy is one of the biggest ongoing costs of any vertical farm business. Reducing energy costs will therefore make your business more profitable. In V-Farm systems, closing up the racks utilises light more efficiency leading to lower power need. Due to our patented moving tray system we also add different lights at different stages giving flexibility leading to additional power savings. Side view of our patented flood and drain unit Super-efficient V-Farm LEDs with wide beam angle save energy compared to competitors Load trays of pre-seeded mats here Simple and efficient gravity feed system for trays on rollers. Option here to fully automate with robotic loading and unloading of t he trays onto conveyors. Lower light level at start to save energy when crops require less light
WATER Agriculture and Horticulture industries have to start using a lot less water - that may be what attracted you to vertical farming in the first place! Due to our unique moving flood method and take off, we can concentrate more levels in a given area avoiding the need to use the large tanks that are the current flood and drain norm.

LABOUR Growing at standard building heights ensures lower HSE/OSHA issues and better QC. Staff standing on the floor means lower labour costs, reduced handling equipment and better ‘eyes on’ QC so you can grow a better product at a lower cost. All of our systems are IP67, all food grade and jet washable for easy wash down between crops. Disadvantages of large scale warehouse systems compared to multi-floor buildings. • Infrastructure costs higher • Less flexible to market demand • Greater risk of disease or contamination which can shut down your entire operation. Warehouse farms require scissor lifts that can increase labour by over 25% and risk increased health and safety issues.

Competitor farm options
One of our patents is based on moving racks, you only ever have one aisle for maintenance/ harvesting thus saving space - increasing possible yield by one third. This also then maximises valuable urban space where rents may be high.

TESTIMONIALS PROFESSOR ROY KENNEDY, PERSHORE COLLEGE “The HydroGarden V-Farm system was installed in the AgriTech Centre at Pershore College (part of Warwickshire Colleges Group) in 2017 and immediately demonstrated its flexibility and reliability in hydroponic plant research and in horticultural degree courses. I would highly recommend the system to other teaching and research organisations who require environments capable of growing a wide range of horticultural crops under controlled conditions to a high standard.”
DR PAUL MYERS, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF FARM URBAN, BASED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL “The V-Farm is the next step in urban farming. It provides an exceptionally compact, highly productive system using leading LED technology. This system can transform small, underused urban spaces into the farms of the future. HydroGarden’s V-Farm is allowing us to develop our farms at a rate that wouldn’t be possible with any other system or technology currently available to us.”
