With eyes closed I stand alone, in the dark I smell the sweet scent of fresh–cut grass and feel the soft dirt under my feet. I feel the sunshine on my skin, though I cannot see it. I stand in this blissful moment until I hear a call. Desperation and panic fill the air as I blindly run towards the unknown voice. "HELP ME!" it shouts. I stumble over a log; I can feel the blood trickle down my leg. "HELP ME" another voice shouts. Gradually more and more voices call out for help tugging at my heart. I try to bury myself in my hands and collapse into the soft earth. I jump back in surprise as a cold hand gently traces my face. Tears spill out of my eyes allowing them to open; I look up and see a woman. She wears all black and has a veil over her Get

"I got in!!" I screamed running around my house on December 15,2017. I couldn't believe it. I had got into my dream school and was ready to commit until I finally read the the tiny white words, "Undeclared: Division of General Studies", underneath the heading "Janiya, You're an Illini!" The elated feeling I had evaporated just as quickly as it came. Those words told me that although I had became an Illini, I was not admitted into either one of my majors.

I debated for months whether or not to write this appeal. I could not believe the decision for the longest. Then, I started looking at myself. The college of engineering is extremely selective with a middle 50% ACT score of 31–34. I was just outside that mark by 3 little points. My extracurriculars...show more content...

Matter of fact, I did not know much about either major until my junior year. But once I found more about these majors I could not see myself doing anything else with my life. I craved to know how and why things worked within each major.

I know that looking at my ACT score, an admission board would only see the glaring issue: my math and science ACT scores. These scores are not a fair representation of what I can do. I have always excelled in math and science even going as far as being a year ahead in math. The ACT does not represent the person and student I am. Between my first ACT and my second, I was able to improve my own score by three points with just a twenty dollar book and a calculator (for some parts at least). That is the student that I am. One who is willing to admit their mistakes and work hard to fix them. I know for a fact that transferring into Computer Science or Electrical Engineering will be next to impossible if I do not go into the university majoring in either and I really want to attend this outstanding university. If given the chance, I intend to excel at every given chance. I plan to make sure that those who have given me the chance to prove that I am better than my ACT score don't regret the decision they Get more content

Have you ever wonder what it's like to play football for your homeschool under the lights on friday night? The weeks practice was strong and coaches thought we were more prepared than ever. Once coach coffman comes in to talk to us we all know it's time to be serious. There's something about the bark of coaches voice that gets everyone focused and ready to play a serious game of football. We absolutely know it's time to work and buckle down as soon as we have to play the game. It's absolutely electrifying to be on that field during your senior year when you know this is your last chance to make things happen. Everyone knows their job once the game starts. If everyone that is on that field does there job and sticks to their responsibilities we would be fine. If the team plays with their heart even when things go bad and not point fingers but instead work as a team and don't give up you will succeed. Second quarter comes around everyone on the team is working hard. Then a play gets blown up and there's an interception how does the team react. Instead of giving up we stop there offensive roll at the one yard line. This is when things are most serious and there is no room for error. To Speak

I couldn't move as I was petrified by fear; stage fright was my Medusa. Fear was a loyal companion one Saturday morning at the Methodist church where a speech competition was being held. Several competitors had gone before me and now my turn had come to deliver what felt like my last words on this earth. If only my legs had gotten the memo.

Weeks earlier, practice for this competition was in full force and I had little to no jitters about getting up and facing a crowd of about ten people. Every day after school we practiced in the old, creaky St. Mary's classroom painted different shades of baby blue. One by one we stood behind a podium and performed our pre–written monologue to an audience of less than enthusiastic students....show more content...

I was at the point where I had to physically stop myself from grabbing the next cookie when we were called back to finally found out who won. All competitors were put in a lineup to face both the audience and our judges. One judge came up and gave the cliche speech about how hard it was to make a decision and started to list the places. They went in reverse order for the places starting with third place, and then second was taken by Computer Girl. I knew I wasn't going to place at this point. Whoever was going to win definitely deserved it.

The last place I expected to be in was first. Language in this case, was not just written, but the spoken. This does not happen in just my case, but for a lot of people who don't vomit their thoughts. Many people can talk, but then there are people who can speak. I would rather have someone who can speak deep oceans in a few minutes than someone who talks miles of shallow puddles. No matter what type of speaking I use today, I can use language comfortably knowing that quiet minds can

The research focused on the ways in which flight schools can provide a specialized training format that satisfies goals for both professional and recreational pilots. These are unique ways in which, flight schools can achieve flight instruction for students by providing a strong training format that meets the individuals needs. Flight schools tend to use less commercialized airports for training flights this gives students training without the crowded airspace. (Flight Training, 2004)

Strong Training Format

In order for students to be fully prepared to take off on flights they are subjected to a specialized and strong training format that is followed by the school. Aviation flight schools when training students should train them using modern equipment, and facilities. This will give students the opportunity to learn what is currently used in the field of aviation. When the training is based on new and modern technology the students are in a better position since they can fit in the field. (Flight Training, 2004)

Most of the Aviation schools have developed a structured curriculum, which is used to demonstrate various airplane systems which include a complete set of working flight instructions to enhance learning opportunities. They use multimedia services and the Internet to gain more information on the new developments in the field. A proven training system ensures that students are fully trained before they are given

certificates to practice flight as a career or for recreational purposes. (Flight Training, 2004)

There are many curriculums for a flight school to adopt, in fact some flight schools may have more than one to cater to the needs of their students; such as structured accelerated programs, or a self paced pay as you go open schedule program.

College Admissions Essay If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. As I walked past the sign, I stopped in my tracks, struck by what I saw. College can be extremely hard, emotionally and intellectually. Students are thrown into an environment where they have to become completely self–sufficient, if they weren't already, and find out who they want to be. Classes are harder and the homework is more involved, and we are expected know what right and wrong is, in a world full of completely wrong choices happening around us. Simply put, college is stressful and confusing, but wonderful at that. Some students find themselves struggling with alcohol, or dating. My struggle over the past year has been my inability to ask for help with depression. Depression has been an ongoing battle in my life and I have pushed every form of help that was handed to me. I understood the true essence of these words at an early age, while taking care of my grandmother suffering from Parkinson's disease as the hospitals neither had facilities nor did family members have nursing expertise. My grandmother's helplessness inspired me to volunteer in the community to provide free medical services for the destitute children and so on. Throughout my childhood, I've always wanted to tell a story from my perspective. I was born with introverted tendencies, and I still have a hard time articulating to people my thoughts.
