Proudly Affiliated with:
Our Chair I am pleased to present, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Airport Executives Canada, our 2013 Annual Report. While IAAE Canada regularly communicates with our members about news, events and training, the annual report is our official report to the members of what we are doing as an association and how we are managing the business of the association. I would like to welcome RJ Steenstra, A.A.E. of Red Deer who was voted to join the board and to acknowledge Kevin Lacey, A.A.E. of Toronto, who was voted to continue on the board for a three year term at our annual general meeting in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, May 13, 2013. 2013 saw the award of the “Mark of the Airport Professional”, the Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E) designation to four members; Kevin Campbell, A.A.E. of Kitchener-Waterloo, Maxx Kochar, A.A.E. of Toronto, Joe Yamichuk, A.A.E. of Kelowna and Garry Price, A.A.E. of Toronto. Please join the Board in extending congratulations to them for their achievement. In 2013 the Board added a new professional designation, the Accredited Airport Professional (A.A.P.). While the A.A.E. recognizes professionalism, experience and knowledge of those working at an airport, the A.A.P designation will recognize the professionalism, experience and knowledge of those persons who provide expert technical and professional support to airports. IAAE Canada has continued to grow, reaching a new high of 348, members whom we serve with information, networking opportunities, professional training and support. We also provide training to the airport industry and in 2013 IAAE Canada presented 21 in-class courses across Canada as well as online to upgrade the skills of over 350 people. IAAE Canada offers an impressive suite of in-class and web based training to meet the needs of our members and industry and we are adding new courses every year. We will continue to provide webinars on timely and important topics to our members and ask that if you have expertise to share, or a topic you want to know more about, please let us know and we can make it happen. 2013 saw the 7th Annual Facilities, Operations & Airport Managers (FOAM) conference to be a great success held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Preparations for our 8th annual FOAM conference and IAAE Canada’s 20th anniversary celebration in Halifax, NS in June 2014 are complete and work will begin soon on our 9th annual conference. IAAE Canada continues to work with other aviation and airport organizations to provide value to our members and to promote our products and services. IAAE Canada has student chapters at Georgian College and the University of Western Ontario and we work closely with the Canadian Airports Council, the AAAE, the British Columbia Institute of Technology, SWIFT, the Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace and provincial aviation councils. The past, current and future success of IAAE Canada is directly attributed to those who volunteer to serve on the Board of Directors, our committees and our staff. Our volunteers offer their time, skills and expertise to administer the affairs of the association, to develop and produce training products and coordinate and organize our conferences. In 2014 IAAE Canada will celebrate our 20th anniversary of being the leading organization for the provision of airport professional development and training in Canada. The next 20 years will bring new challenges and new ways of meeting them. IAAE Canada is committed to being a leader in delivering the answers to those challenges to our members. I encourage you to join us at our 8th Annual FOAM Conference in Halifax, NS, June 1-4, 2014 to be a part our 20th anniversary celebration. Cuyler J. Green, A.A.E. Chair, IAAE Canada 1

Executive Coordinator This year we passed a new high water mark with 348 members, we are trying to create more income streams so we are not dependant on Members Fees. We certainly have no plan to increase them; in fact we would like to reduce them. I have been with this Association for 7 years and the fees have not risen in all that time. We still believe there are many good reasons to become a member of IAAE Canada. First off, you can’t get an accreditation without being a member. You also wouldn’t get the opportunity for reduced home insurance, a small but useful membership benefit. We hope you were amongst the faithful who journeyed to Saskatoon and enjoyed the Saskatoon Berry type hospitality that the city and the Saskatoon Airport helped us enjoy for the 2013 FOAM Conference. Our attendance numbers were a little lower than expected, probably due to the late departure of winter and our change of dates to the middle of May. We will try very hard to keep our future conferences around the end of May, beginning of June. Just like 2014 which will be June 1-4 in Halifax, I can taste the lobster already. At our AGM, held at the Saskatoon Cavalier hotel, we saw one new board member elected, RJ Steenstra A.A.E., who basically replaced Gerry Bruno A.A.E., who finished his term. While Gerry will be missed, the good news is the continuity we have with our total 13 person board. They set to work very quickly revamping our bylaws and constitution, as per the federal government mandate for Not-for-Profits. The completed document will be presented for the members to ratify at the 2014 AGM. A couple of changes we have already made as part of the update is to clear up some confusion regarding the names of our membership classes. We now have Airport Members in place of Affiliates and Industry Members in place of Associates, which should avoid the confusion and fit in nicely with our new Accreditation for Industry Members. This new Accreditation was launched January 2013 and we have half a dozen members vying for the notoriety of being the first to earn their A.A.P. designation. Our mandate is ‘to become the premier training organisation in the airport industry’, and to that end we provided 21 classroom courses which included a repeat of the Air Navigation System & Air Services Development courses and most of our regular courses. In 2014 we are presenting a couple of new courses, the Leadership/Management Workshop and the Emergency Management Training plus revisiting the formerly popular Airport Marketing Course. We will also have updates on the TP312 5th Edition. While we are always on the lookout for new training programs we can add to our stable, we are still building new online courses, which currently number 16. Be on the lookout in 2014 for a new opportunity that can help you when it comes to maintaining your training records We wish you a great year and invite you to journey with us as we celebrate our 20th year in 2014. Perhaps you have a role to play in the Association’s future.

IAAE Canada Chapters IAAE Canada encourages the formation of local chapters in those locations where there is a critical mass of members to support one. Local chapters serve to strengthen the relationships amongst members, promote networking and information sharing and provide an avenue for professional development and mentoring. To date, IAAE Canada chapters have been established at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario and at the University of Western Ontario located in London, Ontario.
The members of the Toronto Pearson chapter meet on a bimonthly basis. Typically, the meetings consist of a discussion of the latest Association news from across the country followed by a review of trends and occurrences affecting the aviation industry as a whole. Members are brought up to date on air carrier activities and strategies, airport developments and trends in the larger business environment. At each meeting members are also treated to a feature presentation or a site visit delivered by a fellow member or an invited guest. Presentation topics have ranged from leadership, energy management, and stormwater management to air cargo and eco-business parks, all with the purpose of expanding members knowledge and range of thinking about the industry in an atmosphere of collegial discussion and knowledge sharing.
The Georgian College Chapter, which came into existence in early 2008, is comprised of students enrolled in the Aviation Management program and is an extension of the Canadian Aviation Students Organization (CASO). The chapter held meetings throughout the year that included presentations by industry speakers, providing the student membership with insights into the industry and its many potential employment streams and more importantly, the opportunity to network with airport professionals. Student members also attended some of the Toronto Pearson Chapter meetings thus broadening their opportunities to learn and develop industry contacts. As well, an airside tour of Toronto Pearson International Airport was organized for the students. Professor Philip Van Manen, C.M. continues to ably serve as the Faculty Advisor for the Student Chapter and to promote student membership in the Georgian College IAAE Canada Chapter. IAAE Canada extends its appreciation to Professor Van Manen for his voluntary and enthusiastic support.

Our Strategy Approaching its twentieth year of existence, IAAE Canada has grown from a small core of dedicated aviation professionals seeking to establish a distinctively Canadian affiliate of the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) to a nationwide organization of 350 plus members offering a growing range of training and professional development services for the aviation industry. From its founding to present day, IAAE Canada has maintained its vision of becoming Canada’s premier organization for the professional development of airport management. The pace of change in the aviation world continues unabated. Airports are becoming increasingly competitive and pressured to both increase revenues and decrease costs, while maintaining service levels. The onset of the Boomer exodus from the industry and the entry of the Millennials into the workforce, combined with the requirement for new skill sets to operate airports as businesses, has created a need not only for talent recruitment but also for training and professional development. Transport Canada has retrenched to the role of regulator and overseer and looks to the industry to take the leadership in designing and delivering training to the new generation of airport and aviation personnel. IAAE Canada has focused on fulfilling the training and professional needs of the industry while eschewing the advocacy functions performed by other industry associations. But IAAE Canada is not alone in this regard as other industry organizations are moving to address training and professional development needs. IAAE Canada must therefore deliver quality products and services which are of value and tailored to the needs of the industry. The IAAE Canada has set a strategic direction for the 2012 to 2016 timeframe structured around the following principal elements: • IAAE Canada will continue to base its business model on individual membership and to focus its attention on the needs of the individual member; • The Association’s core business will remain training and professional development for airport personnel; • By setting the standard for quality and value and building relationships, IAAE Canada will be recognized at all levels as the premier provider of airport training and professional development services to the Canadian industry; • New course and professional development offerings employing innovative technology and learning approaches will be brought to market to meet the evolving needs of airports generally and members in particular; • The organization’s capacity to deliver and its sustainability for the long term will be reinforced through the further enhancement of administrative and program development capabilities and the deepening of Board skills and diversity. IAAE Canada will continue to advance towards its vision of being the country’s most widely known and regarded organization for the training and professional development of those involved in the airport business. The strategy will be realized through the execution of annual business plans addressing the priorities noted above.

The IAAE Canada Audit committee is pleased to present to the membership our 2013 audited financial statements. The committee and Board has regularly reviewed the financial records of IAAE Canada throughout 2013 and the audit firm of Joel Feldman has confirmed that the statements are correct and have been recorded using generally accepted accounting principles. The Audit committee will be recommending that the membership re-appoint Joel Feldman to audit IAAE Canada’s financial records for 2014. Respectfully Submitted, Bryan A. Gordon, A.A.E.

Membership & Communications Committee The Membership & Communications Committee focuses on communication initiatives targeted to increasing IAAE Canada membership and enhancing the value of membership to current members. The Committee set as its prime goal for 2013 to achieve a net year‐over‐year increase in membership of a minimum of 25 new members and to limit member attrition to 5% of 2012 membership. We are happy to report that we exceeded our goal, increasing our membership by 42 new members to a total of 348, a continued record high for IAAE Canada. An essential ingredient in delivering value to IAAE Canada members is understanding and responding to evolving member needs. The results of our 2013 Membership Satisfaction survey indicated that professional development training was the number one reason for joining the Association and that networking was rated the highest among our Membership Benefits. We have endeavoured to meet both of these expressed needs through webinars, conferences, our magazine and weekly e-Report. 2013 saw the continuation of the IAAE Canada Members Webinars. These webinars address the results of our survey by creating more professional development training and networking opportunities for our members at no cost. Delivered by industry experts, this year’s topics included Airport Environmental Management in May and SNOWiz Season 2 and NAV CANADA ICAO NOTAM Transition in November. The IAAE Canada Airport Magazine published its 8th Edition in Winter 2013. A free publication, containing feature articles on a wide range of aviation‐related topics, it is intended to complement the weekly e‐ Report and the web site by providing members with an added source of current industry information. The magazine features articles by our members, a biopic on one of our Corporate Members and an Emerging Technologies article from a second Corporate Member. Over 1000 copies of the two 2013 editions were distributed. As well, new ideas and member suggestions to improve the editorial content of the weekly e‐ Report were pursued by the Committee over the course of the year. Tom Coupland personally promoted IAAE Canada membership through his participation in the annual conferences of several provincial aviation associations and other industry events. Maxx Kochar, A.A.E. and Jeff Barrow, A.A.E. continued to work with student representatives at Georgian College and the University of Western Ontario, respectively, to build student membership and solidify the IAAE Canada student chapters at each school. Philip Van Manen, C.M., a professor in the Aviation Management Program at Georgian, took a lead role in encouraging student involvement in the Association. The achievements of the past year would not have been possible without the efforts of the Committee members listed below. I want to thank them all for generously volunteering their time and expertise to the work of the Membership & Communications Committee. Respectfully submitted, Bill Newman, A.A.E. Corporate Committee IAAE Canada continues to be an important link between the Airport Community and Corporate Members. Through its regular forums such as the e‐Report, the IAAE Canada Magazine, webinars and conferences, the Corporate Members are able to develop relationships and get their messages out to a very specialized audience. In 2013, the Facility, Operations & Airport Managers Conference (FOAM) was held in Saskatoon in May. Congratulations should be extended to the team, led by Sam Sammadar AAE, who organized the event. The Trade Show provided many Corporate Members the opportunity to exchange information and contact details with a wide variety of airport operators. The agenda and presenters were top calibre. Sponsorship opportunities proved to be a great way to gain recognition with the audience. This committee continues to support IAAE Canada activities. We’re supporting the 2014 FOAM Conference in Halifax, June 1 – 4, by assisting with the Trade Show set up to direct more people to the booths, coordinating Vendor presentations and securing Speakers where needed. 2014 will also see the 2nd bi-annual IAAE Canada/AAAE Combined Conference being held in Tucson, AZ on March 10-12. We’re assisting with Trade Show, Vendor Presentations and Speakers for this highly anticipated conference. We’ve also been busy researching ways to make your IAAE Canada Corporate Membership of greater value. We’ve put a schedule in place for Corporate Members appearing in the IAAE Canada Airport Magazine. For the Corporate Corner article, they will be placed by tenure, oldest to newest and for the Emerging Technologies feature, they will be placed by tenure in reverse order. Beginning at the end of 2013, we also started a feature in the weekly e-Reports called ‘Learn More About This Week’s IAAE Canada Corporate Member’. In this weekly feature, Corporate Members are highlighted via link to their page on the IAAE Canada website. This feature is also updated on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter, weekly. It has been my distinct pleasure to work with my fellow members of the Corporate Committee and with the Board of Directors to help further the goals of the organization. Training Committee I look back on 2013 with a great deal of nostalgia. The airport industry, like most industries, has many people who are close to retirement. To varying degrees we have prepared ourselves for the impending change over the past few years, but to me 2013 seems to be the beginning of that monumental change. Those people who have always been part of the airport are moving on to other adventures; however they include the strong leaders of the airport community. With all that wisdom and experience leaving it gives me a feeling of trepidation for our future; but the feeling does not last long. The reason for that is that the young people working at airports these days are fantastic! They are hungry for knowledge of the airport industry and they have no nostalgia, or biases, for the “Transport Days.” The secret to tapping into their energy is to share our knowledge with them as a mentor and guide. I experienced this when I was new to the Airport community and my bosses got me enrolled in a number of the IAAE Canada courses. This, along with their patient guidance, helped to grow my career in the airport industry. IAAE Canada’s online titles continue to grow with both “Airport 101” and some more advanced “Airport 201” titles. These courses offer tremendous value to the end user because they can be viewed at any time in any place that there is a computer. Some new titles in 2013 were an Introduction to Cargo Operations, Airfield Maintenance, and Introduction to Canadian Commercial Aircraft, a course to help identify the most common commercial aircraft. These courses are not just for airport staff. Consider the benefits of having the City Councillors of a municipally-run airport learn about the airport through the introduction to Airports in Canada online course or use the Zoning course to help explain to local crane operators the issues with operating tall cranes close to an airport. Of course, these courses are great ways to give young airport professionals a better understanding of what we do in Canada and how our airports fit into the national and international aviation systems. We continue to offer a wide variety of classroom courses. This is the second year for our upper management focused Air Service Development course. The TP312 course continues to be a big draw. We expect with the first public glimpse of the fifth edition of TP312 in early 2014 and many airport professionals will want a course to highlight the differences between this edition and the fourth. We already have plans for that. Classroom courses obviously offer great information for the students, in addition to helping build the students’ network in the airport community. I want to make special mention of the people who volunteer their valuable time to support IAAE Canada and make our training offerings better. This year the Training Committee has grown to ten individuals that bring experience from large and small airports, passenger and cargo operations, airport employees and airport service providers, eastern and western airports, and we even have a member from Georgian College. They add to the support and guidance that we get from Tom Coupland and Michelle Cretzman who support this Committee and the other IAAE Canada Committees. I want to thank them for the hard work they have done and their input in developing a number of new course offerings in 2014. If you are interested in having some of that new training at your airport please contact us. Respectfully submitted, Cameron Nicolson, A.A.E. Marketing Committee This committee stands to assist IAAE Canada by establishing its presence, increasing brand recognition and in the promotion of new and current products and services. The Marketing Committee was very active in 2013 with innovative ideas and plans to help position IAAE Canada for the future. Two primary objectives were established for the Committee that will focus the efforts through 2013: 1. Increase Membership Value Awareness 2. Increase Training Product Awareness This committee endeavoured to accomplish the above through a few methods. We assisted in the creation of an IAAE Canada promotional video. This video contains information about the benefits of IAAE Canada membership, training, and conferences. You can view it on the association’s website. We also looked at increasing awareness about the advantages of our online training. To help promote this, we offered two free online courses to each attendee of our in-class training for the last quarter of the year. The feedback on the online training courses has been very favourable and we hope to further increase the use of these courses amongst the Canadian Aviation Industry.
IAAE Canada has a lot to offer prospective members. Our strength lies in our membership as we are made up of more than 300 airport professionals from across the country. From large international airports to small municipal airports, our members come from all disciplines that include operations, finance, human resources and business development. We are Canadians dealing with Canadian issues and challenges. The number of Airports that are part of our Association is growing every year and this is a reflection of the strengths of our organization. From training to management development, conferences and networking, accreditation programs and employment opportunities; IAAE Canada should be on the “bucket list” of all airports and airport employees from coast to coast. Accreditation Committee The Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E) designation is recognized worldwide as the 'Mark of the Airport Professional'. Becoming an A.A.E. requires knowledge, skill and determination. For 19 years, IAAE Canada has provided the training and mentoring for Canadian Airport Professionals to achieve the A.A.E. Our five day Accreditation Academy Course prepares attendees to take the included Certified Member exam, which is the first step of three toward the coveted A.A.E. (Accredited Airport Executive) designation. Earning the A.A.E. designation is the standard of excellence for professional development in the Airport Industry. Our Certified Members (C.M.) strive to join the elite and obtain the use of A.A.E. after their name. In 2013, six of our members took the first step in realizing accreditation by achieving their Certified Member status (CM). Their names can be found in the New C.M.’s section of this report. The year 2013 saw four of our members achieve the A.A.E. Please join me in congratulating Kevin Campbell A.A.E., Project Manager, Construction Development, Region of Waterloo International Airport, Maxx Kochar A.A.E., Manager, Business Improvement Services, Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Garry Price A.A.E., Manager, Capital Restoration Projects, Greater Toronto Airports Authority and Joe Yakimchuk A.A.E., Airport Duty Manager, Kelowna International Airport. 2013 also saw the launch of the Accredited Airport Professional Program (A.A.P.). The IAAE Canada ‘Accredited Airport Professional’ (A.A.P.) is a program for Industry Members. It is similar to the A.A.E. program in that the candidate has three years to complete and there are three phases, which are: passing the exam, researching and writing an article that is approved by the Board of Examiners, and having it published in an industry magazine, and completing any two of the following: attending an IAAE Canada Conference, successfully completing an IAAE Canada course of your choice, or successfully completing any 10 of IAAE Canada’s online courses. Although to date, we’ve yet to have one of industry members achieve the A.A.P., there are a few in the works and the race is on to see who finishes first. The Accreditation Committee’s ongoing responsibility is to ensure that IAAE Canada’s Accreditation Programs maintain the high professional standards that have been developed to date. Of equal importance, the committee is mandated to continuously seek enhancements to the programs in the ever evolving world of aviation. The airport industry has high expectations and requires knowledgeable professionals. The Accreditation Committee will ensure that newly accredited members have the required knowledge to meet these high expectations. Finally, the Accreditation Committee understands the difficulty in meeting demanding workloads while also striving to achieve your accreditation; however, the Committee & Mentors will do their best to ensure each member is set up for success to achieve this valuable milestone within the time frame of the program. If I can be of any assistance to anyone thinking about beginning the journey to become an accredited member, please do not hesitate to contact me through the IAAE Canada website. 7th Annual Facility, Operations & Airport Managers Conference In 2013, somehow the Saskatoon Airport blew all the snow away just in time for us to arrive in midMay. As you may remember, it was a late spring and no doubt many of us will be comparing 2014’s winter to 2013 and forget about last year. Although the numbers were a bit lower, the quality of delegates was as good as always, and the speakers gave good presentations, well delivered and informative. As in previous years, the topics were meaty and timely. Every year our Conference Committee spends a lot of time deciding which topics and which speakers will create the best overall experience. That way we expect more delegates to show up and share in the journey. Each year we also include a Trade Show which is growing in attendance and depth of product coverage. Some delegates say the Trade Show is a major reason they make the trek to wherever we hold our conference. 2013 saw a return to our, now traditional, program of starting out with a meet & greet to kick things off, which we hold among the exhibitors. As always we owe a big thank you to our sponsors, Vanderlande Industries Canada once again under took the Gold Sponsorship, while Tetra Tech, Tradewind Scientific & ADB stood up for the Silver. We created a Platinum Sponsorship to share sponsoring for the evening function and Black & McDonald, Genivar (now WSP) the Commissionaires and SNC Lavalin all held that prestigious level. We also appreciate our Bronze Sponsors; Gibbings Consultants, Team Eagle & Trecan Combustion along with Airbiz & the Regina Airport who helped with their respective sponsorship and SMP once again took care of our ‘funday’ Golf outing. Some places are easier to get to than others and we have to take this into account when we decide where we will visit next. We also try to swing back and forth across Canada, and so we will find ourselves in Halifax NS, this coming June 1-4, where we actually expect to break all our previous numbers. Not to mention that it is our 20th Anniversary Year and so we are planning an extra bit of celebrating to commemorate that. At the time of writing we are well underway to fulfilling that prophecy. Where will we be in 2015? If you are in Halifax, you will be among the first to find out. So don’t hesitate to sign up and why not bring your significant other. If we have enough interest, we can help arrange an outing for our spouses. Tom Coupland Executive Coordinator

Edmonton Airports launched the Chauntry reservation system in August of 2010. Chauntry was launched with the opening of a new parking product – jetSet parking. September 15th, 2010 marked a new era for a group of leading Canadian design firms as they adopted the name DIALOG for their recent merger. DIALOG has a track record of award-winning collaborative design excellence. Founded by the merged firms of Cohos Evamy + Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden + Mole White Associates + Office for Urbanism, DIALOG is committed to the practice of sustainable design with a focus on the success of clients and communities. Working from studios in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Vancouver, DIALOG credits its strength to its outstanding multidisciplinary team who deliver excellence and a collaborative approach to the provision of architectural, engineering, interior design, planning and urban design services. Building connections Design in transportation is about connections - between neighbourhoods, communities, cities, municipalities, countries. The experience is as important as the function. Airports are more than just a clearinghouse for airplanes, people and cargo - they are the gateway to a region. An airport should be a welcoming and worry-free experience for passengers, and a reflection of the culture of the community. Since the early 1990s, airports have also been businesses that must generate revenue, so layouts have to be strategic, reflecting the buying patterns of passengers and airport personnel. In addition, as airports expand and technology changes, airport design must accommodate the rapidly changing fleets of many different carriers. We handle this through modularity, which makes airports, control towers and other transportation buildings effective today, and flexible enough to meet future needs. Our Areas of Practice DIALOG is a fully integrated multidisciplinary practice which includes architecture, programming, urban planning and design, interior design, graphic design and 3D modeling, and structural, mechanical and electrical engineering. We provide our services in many sectors including airports and transportation, retail, commercial, public markets, arts and culture, education, health care, science and technology, government, and energy related work. We have been successful in winning outstanding, ambitious commissions and developing long-lasting collaborative relationships with our clients. Size of the Firm DIALOG credits its strength to its outstanding multidisciplinary team of over 500 talented individuals, located in studios in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Vancouver. Our team is supported by state-of-the-art IT resources which allow seamless communication and flow of information across our studio network. Safegate Airport Systems, Inc. - Summary Safegate Airport Systems, Inc. is a subsidiary of the Safegate Group. Founded in 1973 in Malmö, Sweden, the Safegate Group has 16 offices around the globe and is in operation at more than 1000 airports worldwide offering complete apron management, airfield lighting and A-SMGCS solutions for the most efficient and safe guidance of aircraft from touchdown to gate. Docking Guidance Systems Safegate’s apron management solutions are built around the Safedock™ Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System (A-VDGS) and SafeControl – Apron Management System (SAM) that links the gates and integrates with airport and airline information systems. The resulting real-time gate intelligence and shared data helps create a safer, more efficient and environmentally-friendly ramp operation that is predictable, repeatable and scalable for the future. Safegate is the leading provider of fully-automated, laser-based A-VDGS that can accurately guide pilots to the correct stop position in all weather conditions. Aircraft can dock even when the ramp is closed and ramp personnel cannot be present. Safedock provides guidance to pilots in both seats and can accommodate multiple centerlines with one system. More than 5,000 Safedock A-VDGS systems are operational at airports around the world, including Toronto Pearson International Airport, Calgary International Airport and Vancouver International Airport.
Safegate’s SafeControl – Apron Management System links all gates via a local or wide area network and integrates with airport and airline information systems, providing centralized control of all gates and real-time gate intelligence to maximize turns. The SAM provides accurate in and out times, allows the A-VDGS to double as a ramp information display system (RIDS) and can interface with ground support equipment and other existing airport systems such as BMS/FIDS/AFLCS/SMR. Airfield Lighting ASP-SafeControl is an addressable airfield lighting system that provides individual light control, system monitoring capabilities and real-time information to the tower. ASP-SafeControl reduces the time and cost associated with light installation and maintenance, is compatible with other airfield lighting systems, works with existing infrastructure and does not require additional control cable for installation. Safegate airfield lighting solutions are in use today at airports in: Halifax NS, St John’s NFL, Trenton ON, Victoria BC, Waterloo-Kitchener ON and Winnipeg MB. Safegate’s SafeLED airfield lighting fixtures are the only LED airfield lights that offer an integrated fail-open signal, similar to halogen fixtures, for monitoring lamp failure. The SafeLED IQ intelligent lamp fitting provides significant power savings and cost efficiencies by allowing monitoring and control of the LED lighting system. Controlling light intensity at the light rather than the CCR can save up to 85% in cabling costs and power consumption. For more information, please contact: Taha S. The name Trecan was originally an acronym for “Thermal Research and Engineering Canada. Trecan’s company history and origin is steeped in combustion technology and thermal efficiency. Trecan Combustion is a Canadian company that has been designing and manufacturing snowmelters for over 35 years and to date the company has delivered over 500 machines throughout the world.
