Fort McMurray Airport Authority (FMAA) has its sights set on the future. With over 760,000 passengers travelling through our building in 2011, we have now become the fastestgrowing airport in Canada over the last ten years. With passenger numbers rising, we must do everything we can to care for our customers in the existing terminal. We are expanding the passenger lounge and have added new carpet, seats, TVs and have given the room a new paint job! But we’re not done yet. We’re making other adjustments to make the building as comfortable and efficient as possible while the new terminal takes shape. The new 15,000 square meter Air Terminal Building will dramatically change how customers experience the Fort McMurray Airport when it opens in April 2014. Customers will enjoy enhanced comfort, ease-of-movement and a wide array of shopping and dining options. Furthermore, the new terminal will boost our capacity to attract new air services. It grew so well that in 2000 we incorporated as the International Association of Airport Executives Canada (IAAE Canada) and still continue to grow to this day. Membership in IAAE Canada is for individuals not airports and it places equal emphasis on the employees and operators of large and small airport concerns, reflecting a membership comprised of executives from large and medium size airports, as well as hundreds of managers from smaller airports used by general and commercial aviation. IAAE Canada is proud to offer its premier credential the Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) "The Mark of an Airport Professional".
