Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club

Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club A relaxed environment set amid floral splendour The beautiful fairways of Sime Darby Property’s Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) lie in the unspoilt landscape of Bukit Kiara, just 8km away from the heart of Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur. Strategically located amidst the capital’s prime residential suburbs and well served by major roads, it is a most conducive backdrop for business, entertainment and leisure for the discerning few who are members of this exclusive golf and country club. Some facilities are also open to visitors. KLGCC is surrounded by nature preserves and is home to some unique species of flora and fauna. It is a quiet, thoughtfully-planned environment of relaxed elegance and natural beauty. Renowned as one of Asia’s premier golfing destinations, KLGCC’s two championship courses play host to Malaysia’s blue chip corporate golfing events as well as to the nation’s two largest international tournaments, the Maybank Malaysian Open and the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia. Originally opened in 1991, KLGCC is one of Sime Darby Property’s leading leisure centres under its hospitality arm. Both the West and East Courses were completely redesigned by renowned international golf course architects, E & G Parslow, and then re-opened in 2008 and 2010 respectively. The high quality of construction is synonymous with Sime Darby and incorporates state-of-the-art technologies and impressive attention to detail. Since then, KLGCC has redefined superior service and excellence; its facilities and hospitality have helped put Malaysia at the forefront of Asia as a prime golfing destination. East Course

KLGCC’s golf courses West Course: The West Course was completed in October 2008 and offers pristine playing conditions, exceptional detail and aesthetic beauty combined with the importance of player strategy – a “flagship” to the future of golf course design and quality of playing mediums in Asia.

Among its holes, the par-4 14th and 16th both offer the option of taking a safe option or going for it, while the par-5 5th is described as a “fun hole” which offers up potential eagles for long and accurate drives. Get your camera out on the par-4 17th, said to be one of the most beautiful holes in the world of golf. The fairway is split by a beautiful meandering stream, housing exotic plants and flora, leading to a well-protected and undulating green. The magnificent backdrop and waterfall really adds to the enjoyment of this pristine golf course. East Course: An exceptional risk-reward layout, this is a parkland-style course with beautiful vibrant coloured landscaping. Designed to reward the intelligent golfer, the length, layout and toughness of this course offer the potential for major international tournaments. The magnificent golf course features impeccable fairways and greens, challenging elevation changes and an environment that enhances the essence of the local terrain, with natural grasses and wetlands and a sanctuary to provide a habitat to the numerous forms of wildlife and birds in the area. The par-3 5th has a pretty waterfall to the left and high-faced bunkers on the right, while the par-4 6th is an intimidating hole from its island tee, located across a board walk through native wetlands. The par-5 16th is a visually-beautiful hole offering much risk-reward strategy from its elevated tees, the highest point on the golf course, and a tempting 240-metre carry over the edge of the right-hand lake. 87
