Ian Baker-Finch Woodlands course Designed with the front nine holes snaking out from the resort and the back nine returning to the clubhouse, the Ian Baker-Finch Woodlands golf course is laid over dramatically-changing terrain, and was recently returfed to further enhance the playing experience of the golfers. Offering five different tee locations to suit golfers of all abilities, the par 72 Ian Baker-Finch Woodlands golf course measures 6,211 metres (6,792 yards) and includes tight fairways on rolling landscapes and a myriad of daring greens with sand traps and flowing waterways. Many of the tees are surrounded by steep slopes and mounds that create a stunning amphitheatre effect around many of the greens that not only entice, challenge and reward the most seasoned of golfers, but also offer flexibility in play to the less experienced. The course highlights include the elevated tee at the 526-metre (575-yard) par 5 8th hole, which is a favourite with many. Stretching downhill into the distance before rising to the green, it demands absolute precision from golfers who must negotiate their shots past bunkers, a lake and a solitary tall tree. The elevated 13th tee presents golfers with an enticing vista of seaside villas and ocean.

Jack Nicklaus Sea View course Designed by the masterful “Golden Bear”, the course offers majestic sculptured bunkers, strategic use of the natural landscape and some unique water hazards. The par 72 Jack Nicklaus course measures 6,420 metres (7,020 yards) with five different tee locations to suit golfers of all abilities. Designed to be enjoyed by players of all standards, the premium highlights of this course includes the 12th hole, a par 3, with a stunning backdrop of the South China Sea. Due to the high winds at certain times, club selection can be increased by at least four clubs, especially from the championship tees. Another highlight hole, the par-4 13th, has a unique feature of a split green, as one of the streams on the course runs through the middle. This makes it the most difficult and challenging hole on this course. The 18th hole is a tough hole characterised by large bunkers and rolling mounds.

Golf Academy Bintan Lagoon Resort’s Golf Academy offers comprehensive golf coaching to players at all levels. Conducted by professionals, all lessons are structured to cater to each player’s ability. A wide variety of programmes is offered, from an introduction to the fundamentals to improving the short game. Lessons are available for individuals or groups of up to three people.
