Considered by Greg Norman to be one of the best golf courses he has been involved in, Almouj Golf has been enthusiastically embraced by the golfing community, regularly receiving rapturous reviews on Trip Advisor where it is typically described as ‘fantastic’, ‘breathtaking’, ‘my favourite’ and ‘the best course in the Middle East’. Almouj Golf recently hosted the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final, the European Challenge Tour’s Grand Final event, for the second year running – cementing its position as a favourite among Challenge Tour venues with tour players. The field was comprised of the top 45 players in the Challenge Tour rankings and was the culmination of the season-long Road to Oman Rankings, with the top 16 earning European Tour cards for 2017. Germany’s Bernd Ritthammer took the honours in the NBO Golf Classic with a record four-round total of 21 under par for his third Challenge Tour victory of the year, but was pipped to the Road to Oman title by Englishman Jordan Smith.
