WELCOME ADDRESS On behalf of IAGTO and Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, I would like to welcome you all to the historic city of Charleston for our 6th North America Convention. This year’s NAC will be our largest to date with over 3000 meetings taking place between 140 supplier companies and 112 buyer delegates. To accommodate more business opportunities this year we have extended the event to a full two days. Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, along with Coastal South Carolina USA and South Carolina Tourism have been long term supporters of IAGTO since our foundation in 1997 and hosted our first Mid-Year Convention back in 2008. We are privileged to have The Mills House as our principal hotel right in the heart of Charleston so I hope you will all the chance to explore this wonderful city on foot. Our hosts are providing a Welcome Reception at The Mills House on Sunday evening, lunch on both Monday and Tuesday and a Charleston Farewell dinner on Tuesday evening. Furthermore, Monday evening is a great opportunity for you to book a table with some colleagues as part of the Charleston Dine-Around and then join us for a drink at The Leaf Bar on 15 Beaufain Street in the heart of town. USEFUL INFORMATION Speed-dating - Supplier meets Buyer Buyers will be seated at the tables at 10:30am on Monday in the Mills House Ballroom. Suppliers will then have 2 hours to visit buyers who they do not have appointments with. The objective is for both supplier and buyer to introduce themselves to each other and to see if there are opportunities for future business. If you need time for a more detailed meeting, try to schedule an appointment, but if you do not have an available spot, then carry on talking!
Buyer meets Supplier Sessions The pre-scheduled appointments are only to get things started! The buyers without full appointment diaries will have time for additional meetings during these sessions. Last year most suppliers managed an average of 40 really useful meetings during the course of the Convention. If you are trying to find a particular buyer, or new to IAGTO, please do not hesitate to ask IAGTO staff and your fellow members who will be more than happy to help. The scheduled meetings are for 15 minutes so please keep an eye on the screens for the appointment number and listen out for the bell.
Welcome Networking Reception This is located on the Terrace of The Mill House Hotel on Sunday evening the dress code is informal and this is a great opportunity for you to meet with old friends and meet many of our new members. Food and drinks will be provided.
Charleston Dine-Around Monday evening is a free evening to do a Dine-Around with fellow delegates. All delegates will be able to book their restaurant table at the Convention Center from 3:00pm. From 8:30pm you are free to come and join the IAGTO team at The Leaf in the heart of the restaurant district - www.leafcharleston.com - 15 Beaufain Street, half a block west of King Street.
Internet & Electric Points Each supplier table is provided with power outlet and wifi is available throughout the exhibition hall in the Convention Center.
Golf Tournament Delegates who have pre-registered for the NAC Golf Tournament on Wednesday 11 June play Kiawah Island Ocean Course. Tournament pairings will be posted at the IAGTO registration desk. A new Match Play format this year will see a North America vs Rest of the World competition which will allow you to enjoy this famous Ryder Cup venue and end the NAC in style!
