Windy Peak Wine // Rebrand

PEAK
// Windy Peak Wines, are a wine brand under De Bortilli’s wines. They sell a range of medium priced wines both red and white. I decided to remake their logo as I felt their name could be better aesthitically presented then their current typographic logo. The logo shows the ‘w’ as a mountain peak with simplified wind/air symbols to more literally reflect the brands name.

Sunburnt Swimwear // Self-Initiated Branding
// Sunburnt Swimwear are a fictional swimwear company that I created a logo and product photoshoot for. The type for ‘sunburnt’ is hand-drawn by myself as I felt the hand-drawn style represented the company and brand-name well whilst reflecting its brand purpose as a beach swimwear brand. The coloured bands next to the ‘s’ represent the sunrays to strengthen the brand identity.
Josh McMullen Visuals // Personal Identity
// I created this branding to represent myself as a graphic designer. The logo is a jester’s hat, which represents myself as a fun, entertaining, happy and energetic person. The logo also symbolises my initials ‘JM’ and the style of the logo represents my own personal style. The background texture is a manipulated close-up of a wave to show my love for the beach, ocean and waves.

Graphis Annual Photography // Book Cover
// Ralph Gibson inspired book cover I created for the graphis photography annual book for a University assignment. The cover is a tribute to the style of Ralph Gibson. I chose the strongest and most representative photo as the cover image.
DG Magazine Cover // Magazine Cover
// I designed this cover for the DG magazine cover competition in 2014. The cover is a representation of Shepard Fairey a famous graphic designer better known for his propaganda street art. It symbolises his fight for peace through his use of stencils and street art and the effect it had. The design was created using a collage of newspaper clippings, pictures and patterns, overlayed with stencils, spray-paint and digital media.

Drive in Peace // Advertising Campaign
// This is a campaign I created at University to address the dangers of texting and driving. When I was young I would have nightmares of those graphic car-crash scenes they put on tv, so I wanted to take a happy and upbeat approach to the design. The campaign name tells the viewer to drive in peace and enjoy driving your car with no distractions, which also gives room for the campaign to expand into other crash prevention advertising. I used a bright yellow and rounded type 70s type to continue the happy upbeat feel visually.

Patterns.

Patterns // Self-Initiated work
// I have recently been creating patterns as a fun way for me to express my creativity when I have no inspiration for ideas. I have really been appreciating patterns and textures recently as I love the subtle and effective impact they have on a design. I start my process on paper and then recreate them with the trusty old pen tool in illustrator.
