A special happy birthday Ian, I hope you will enjoy this little present. Your fans are thrilled about your book! We are very proud about your achievements! We cannot wait to read it. In the meanwhile we will keep ourselves busy reading some of our favorite books. In this presentation, you can find your sweet fans’ Birthday messages and book suggestions. Here’s mine too. I love when a book is well written and you have in front of your eyes words but all you can see is the world you are thrown into, you can see faces, places, forests, castles, cities, souls. One of my favorite book is A Man by Oriana Fallaci. What's the point anyway — Of suffering, dying? It teaches us to live, boy. A man who does not struggle does not live, he survives. It's a sort of autobiography written as a novel. It takes place in Greece during the 70’s dictatorship. The writer/journalist interviews Alexandros Panagoulis who has tried to assassinate the dictator. During the interview he tells her all his story, the reason why he got imprisoned and tortured, his values and his fears and she slowly falls in love with him. Reading some pages you can actually feel the cold concrete of the cellar in which he was imprisoned. Also Ken Follett gives me the same feeling. I can latterly read for 8 hours straight (when I time!) without going out from his world. I wish you all the best, Ian! Sincerely, Giada

Hey Ian! So our little project for your birthday with Giada was to ask fans their favorite books so here’s mine! I love many books from very different sorts, so it was very hard to choose only one. I tried to pick one who isn’t very dumb or some cheesy teenage novels as much as I love them cause it’s probably not your thing and the purpose of this is to make you discover some books that you may read. The book I’ve chosen is Un Barrage Contre Le Pacifique written by Marguerite Duras. I studied this book in class and I was like « whoua this is such an interesting author and story ». It is actually some kind of autobiography of Marguerite Duras, but not totally. It relates some historic events that happened during the « decolonisation » and the story of a family. The relationship between the the brother, the sister and their mother is very paradoxal. I’m not going to tell you more cause it would be a spoiler ;) Moreover I wish you an amazing birthday you old man! I hope you many great things coming up, family, books, new roles etc…. It must require bravery to be honest all the time. A quote from Divergent by Veronica Roth. This is one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite books. I think this quote is the truth. I find it very important to be honest because secrets always find their way out and it is easier to just tell the truth than hide lies you'll have to explain one day. It's not always easy to tell the truth because it might hurt people but lying hurts people as well. My mom always told me to just tell the truth because lying is one of the worst things a person can do. You can lie to protect someone and that's not that bad but really lying about ,let's say where you're going to your parents, the truth about that will always find it's way out. Hi! One of my favorite’s authors is John Green and this photo shows an example of one of his works: Let it Snow. I really love him. His books talk about romance and what is after all the power that love has on our lives, regardless of the adversities that may arise. I love a good love story like Ezria! But today is the big day, Happy Birthday Mr. Harding! I hope you have a great day. Kindness connects to who you are, while niceness connects to how you want to be seen. David Levithan is my truly favorite author of all time. The first book I ever read from his works is Everyday with Rhiannon and ‘A’. ’ A’ is a character who doesn’t really exist in his physical body. He is a wanderer kind of soul, which changes the every-one-day life of the human he’s in. Until one day, he fell in love with Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon. Rhiannon doesn’t receive the kind of love she deserves and wants to Justin. But when ‘A’ came into his body, everything lapses and becomes unnatural. ‘A’ decided to make Rhiannon feel that love she wanted for his man. This one day with ‘A’ in his boyfriend’s body make her feel unusual but she doesn’t want to ruin that kind of day she always prays. As soon as their moments passed, ‘A’ feels everything but the care he wants Rhiannon to have in their so-called relationship and since ‘A’ only lasts for one day every day, the next day where ‘A’ becomes another person, he decided to tell Rhiannon the truth. At first, she doesn’t really feel comfortable about it but later on, it will soon make her believe that everything can happen, true or not. The rest of the story is something that I can’t really imagine at first knowing that ‘A’ is always a different person, so Rhiannon is always with different people. I love this book because it made me believe that sometimes, the person you want to have is only a physical form of him. The soul of his is still wandering whether the love is suitable for you or not. David Levithan made a really unexplained, out of sometimes this world kind of love book where he really made the readers become astonished on his works. Even the other books he wrote are very good. Happy Birthday, Ian! You’ve been my crush ever since I met you at Pretty Little Liars. I’ve always wanted to have a guy like you who really appreciates and contributes to everything and to thank you because it is not a mistake to like a guy like you. I love everything you do, Ian. Even the photos of you with Mochi and Bailey that made me say, “I wish I am that dog”. Please, keep doing the good things in your life and always enjoy the life you want. First I want to say Happy Birthday Ian. You are an amazing guy. I became a fan of yours in 2014 and I absolutely love Ezra Fitz. I couldn't imagine anyone else playing him. I'm very happy about your book coming out next year. Next I want to say that you have inspired me. What I mean by that is I role-play as Ezra Fitz on twitter and I try giving him a bit of my own personal touch. But I learned I could explore ideas I come up with using Ezra. I hope one day I will get to meet you. I hope that one place you will go to for your book tour will be Madison, Wisconsin (I live near Madison). My favorite book is Insurgent from the Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth. This book showed me that every decision we make has a consequence and sometimes thing don't work out as we want them to, but we need to keep fighting for what we love and who we love. When I began to watch PLL I was fascinated by the skill (and the beauty) of the actor who played Ezra..So I wanted to know more and I discovered he’s a very good man, passionate, sometimes crazy , with many interests in his life, and I began to follow him on the socials not because of his character in PLL but because of the man he is . Nothing is true, everything is permitted My favourite book, Alamut by a Slovenian author Vladimir Bartol was written almost 80 years ago, but can still be read as a modern novel. It takes place in 11th Century Persia, where self-proclaimed prophet Hasan ibn Sabbah wants to rule the region with his a couple of his best warriors. With parallels to Osama bin Laden, Alamut tells the story of how Sabbah was able to instill fear into the ruling class by creating a small army of devotees who were willing to kill, and be killed, in order to achieve paradise. Sabbah wanted to “experiment� with how far he could manipulate religious devotion for his own political gain through appealing to what he called the stupidity and gullibility of people and their passion for pleasure and selfish desires. Alamut was originally written in 1938 as an allegory to Mussolini's fascist state. In the 1960's it became a cult favorite throughout Tito's Yugoslavia, and in the 1990s, during the Balkan's War, it was read as an allegory of the region's strife. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, the book once again took on a new life, being translated around the world in more than 19 languages (available at Barnes & Noble).

Hey Ian! My fav book is Pretty Little Liars written by Sara Shepard! I’m not going to tell you what the story is about cause you probably know it alreadyđ&#x;˜‰ This book means a lot to me because thanks to it I got to know you. Also the show and the books represent a big part of my life. I love the fact that there are a lot of mystery and suspens ! We feel connected to the characters and we suspect everyone to be A even our favs! Also we’re having insane theories, but we keep reading it until we know the end! The Great Gatsby was written by Francis Scott Fitzgerald, in 20's. I consider it like a classic! I love Fitzgerald's writing; it’s at the same time easy and full of hard and beautiful words. In this book, sad and cheerful at times. I'm fond of the 20's and its music, its taste of fashion. More than anything, I adore the story. Particularly Jay's side. His fame, his charisma, the story of his life, and his destroying love for Daisy. Considering that when Jay dies, the only who comes cry his death is his most recent friend Nick, my favorite book learns me that the lasting of a friendship/relationship doesn't "make" the fidelity and honesty. Here's my favorite quote : Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that's no matter — tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther... Happy birthday Shmian, You make my life way brighter than you think. I couldn't ask for a better idol and person to look up to than you. I admire your kindness, your positivity, your acting, your sense of humor, your work, pretty much everything about you. And now you are thirty. How does it feel, you (already) old man? I'm so proud of you and will keep supporting you and your projects for years. I absolutely can't wait to have your book in my hands. Hey Ian ! I love reading, I read almost every sort of book, whatever the book is old, recent, autobiagraphic or if there’s magic in it but I don’t really have a favorite book (who knows maybe it will be odd birds ;). Still I’m going to present you a few books that I really loved! Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. I first read this book thanks to the film adaptation directed by Tim Burton (My favorite director). Once I read It I wasn’t disappointed. I love this book, his strange universe and the messages that It deliveres. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wild: I thought that the story was amazing. I never get used to it. Moreover, his films adaptations are great too. All of John Green’s books! I love books such as « looking for Alaska », « will and Will »… It isn’t really the same universe as the other but I lobe this author because often, his books focus on love or friendship story, sometimes it’s dramatical, but there is a lot of humor in his books ! I could advice you so many books that it would be too long so I’m not going to ahahah ! I wish you a happy birthday and all the happiness in the world vause you really deserve it. You don’t know how proud I am to have such a talented, generous and authentic icon as you are! Also I would like to say a BIG congrats to you for your book, it really is an amazing surprise. My favorite book is Ma Le Stelle Quante Sono, written by Giulia Carcasi. It is a romantic novel. I like this book because in It the main story is told in two different parts, the first part is written by a girl and the second part is written by a boy. So, In my opinion, It's really interesting reading the same story, told by two different people. I'll never be tired of reading It. My favorite book is Prima O Poi Ci Abbracceremo by Antonio Dikele Distefano That's my favourite book. It's not written by a really famous author but I think it's a really beautiful book. I love it because in that book there are all the words I wanna say but I never know how to say them in the right way. It's about love and missing someone and right now I love and miss a lot of people who were in my life some years ago. But there are also people I love who are still now in my life. You're one of them Ian. I've never met you and there's like 0 chances for me to meet you but I really care about you and I can't stop loving you. I love how funny you are and I love how good you are when you're on the stage. I never thought I could care so much about an actor, but I do. I've been watching videos about you for hours and never get tired of it. You make me feel good, you make me laugh and I'm sograteful for finding someone like you who makes me feel like that. I'm not that type of person who loves every actor who's at least goodlooking, I never care about someone just for his physical aspect. When I care about someone it's because I found something special in that person. And I found something special in you. Into the wild by Jon Krakauer This book was important to me because in my adolescence it confirmed what I already thought, we must shed the importance we place on materialistic things. Love for people, relationships we are presented with and the moments lived are much more enriching than money. Besides, my dream is to travel and to see beautiful places in nature and this book has pushed me to not forget about that dream. My fav quote Happiness is only real when shared Extra info. Ian, You're such an inspiration to me. You're caring and funny and not afraid to be yourself in front of the cameras. My favorite book is Life Love Beauty by Keegan Allen ... this book means a lot to me as a person and as a fan When I started reading it I felt like I was drowning in the depths of Kegan’s life, going through his life from his childhood to .. now ... I’m pretty sure you've read it too sonce you're in it i loved how Kegan talks about your friendship it's inspiring to have a friend who's always there for you not just while working My favourite quote from that book is if you're lucky enough to capture the moment it says forever there's some people in life , people who once you see them you just can't forget about them , you can't let them go... the day I knew about Ian Harding’s existence i couldn't stop thinking about him... admiring him was the best thing I’ve ever did. It’s peaceful and exciting at the same time. Ian makes me a better person. When I see him in shay's snapchat i just burst into laughter even if i was having a bad day, he makes me happy in some way. You’re finally a writer! Fallen by Lauren Kate is my favourite book and I think you should read it! It's about a girl (Lucinda) who's sent to Sword & Cross Reform School in Savannah, Georgia, after she is accused of murdering a boy by starting a fire. it's absolutely amazing! My favorite book series is Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony Incarnations uses its premise to ponder questions regarding the nature of life. As each character goes from a mortal life to the "office" of an Incarnation, they are forced to contemplate their actions on a daily basis. Each Incarnation may use their office, within limits, as they see fit. This system humanizes what would otherwise be impersonal forces, leading to both extensive considerations of the effects of the incarnation's work and the impact it has on not only humanity but also the other offices of immortality as well. Another humorous side of Incarnations is the portrayed magic/technology duality. Most series emphasize one or the other means of understanding and manipulating the world, but in Incarnations each method is equal in usefulness and respect. A few other series have used the technology/magic combined motif, notably Apprentice Adept, another series by Piers Anthony, and Four Lords of the Diamond by Jack Chalker, although that book had an actual technological basis for the explanation of its magic, in contrast to Piers Anthony's work. I love these books because when you read them they make you think completely outside the box. Very mind twisting and I enjoy books that take you " OUT THERE". I love anything and everything Syfi. But these books are awesome! And they say Christians are boring. Lol. The second book about Time was the one I enjoyed the most...you read it from beginning to end of the book but the book itself is about Time's life going from end to beginning. Ian, may you birthday bring you all that you want, anything you may need, may not need but most of all, may your birthday bring you love. Love of life, family, friends and your fans. My favorite author is Dorothy Koomson she has the ability to make you cry and laugh, get you thinking and keep you gripped... While also being very heartwarming! I love how she deals with real grown up issues she always includes betrayal, forgiveness and i really like that! X

We ask us to talk about our favorite book for your birthday, a project in connection with the publication of your first book. I found the idea very nice, even at first I had no idea of the book that I will choose. I check my bookcase, it seemed obvious, it can be only him. Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. The cover let to think that's another book for girl like we found everywhere, but I really appreciated reading it, like all the books that she write in fact. So, our dear Saddie, the story of Lara, however her fucked up life until she starts to see one of her old dead aunt. A friendship start between the two women and quickly we understand that our dear Saddie doesn't have time to finish all she wants to do before her eyes close. So, it's Lara, accompanied by her friendly ghost that returns the mission to do what she always wanted to do. Laugh, tears, the story is funny, touching and we being always absorb by the read, to finish at the last page. If I choose this book rather than another is because Saddie reminds me my mother. My mother is sick since a few years now, she lives with her third cancer who don't let her breath, but she always smiles. Like Saddie, she tells story of her past and I try to unravel all of her saying. I don't search a painting of her totally naked like Lara have to do, but after her ancestors realizing her genealogy and with each new discovery, she talks to me about an aunt, an uncle, her grandparents. I know that your mother is sick and even the diseases is not the same, what we can see through the photoshoot that you did with her, the attachment and the respect that we have for them is completely the same. Here we finish (because I have to do it at one time or another). I wish you a happy birthday, success for all your projects that you undertake either on screen or in writing.
