Apollo Tyres recently opened its latest factory in the area, joining major investments from companies including Michelin, JK Tyres, MRF and ATC. The total production capacity for tyre manufacturing in the area is set to exceed 1,600 metric tonnes per day, making it the largest tyre manufacturing centre in India and one of the largest in the world. announcements by Goodyear India. The leading manufacturer has confirmed the launch of its Assurance Fuel Max tyre designed to improve fuel consumption without compromising on mileage or performance. It has also launched an 18 month trial into use of its truck and bus radial range in India, prior to a full market launch scheduled for 2013. Moves towards radialisation will also contribute to improvements in road safety, an area where India recorded the highest road accident death statistics of any country in 2009.
