After the official launch of the F-Type cabrio in 2012, Jaguar have finally revealed the F-type coupe versions. They simultaneously showed them at both the Los Angeles and Tokyo Motor Shows. Due for production in March 2014. Here we are showing you the heavily modified F-Type R, these are the top of the coupe range. The R gets a 542bhp supercharged V8 which will produce 186mph and good for 0-60mph in 4sec. Like the convertible, the entry level Coupe and Coupe S mirror the spec of the V6 roadster range of 3.0ltr engines which give 335bhp and with the supercharged unit a nice boost to 375bhp. Cabrio's V8 develops 488bhp where as with the coupe it churns out 542bhp. Prices start at just over £51K and range up to £85K. The V8 F-Type R starts from £85,000.

Línea Directa is one of the key players in the fight to reduce the number of accidents on our roads. For almost 20 years, it has promoted research into accident rates in order to encourage safe driving habits. Due to the risks involved with driving in winter months, it now offers advice on how to act in adverse weather conditions. With respect to the car: 1.Check your car, especially the mechanical components. Pay attention to brakes, lights, windscreen wipers and break fluid, antifreeze and oil levels. 2.Don’t forget to check the condition of your tyres including the spare wheel, checking pressure, tread and the grooves of each tyre, which must have a minimum depth of 1.6mm. 3.Always take a reflective jacket, two warning triangles and a torch with you. Also ensure that your mobile is charged in case you need to use it in an emergency. With respect to driving: 1.If you often drive in snow, consider buying winter tyres. In any case, avoid any sudden movements and, as a general rule, do not overtake. Take special care with snow which has turned into ice and always drive at low speeds. 2.If it is foggy or raining, adapt your speed and distance from the vehicle ahead to the weather conditions. Do not brake suddenly to avoid skidding. 3.Aim the vehicle’s heating system at the windows to prevent them from fogging up as a result of humidity. 4.When overtaking, reaching crossroads, leaving tunnels and in open spaces, be careful with any sudden gusts of wind, which might lead to a loss of steering and the vehicle overturning.

MOTORS IN THE NEWS Virtual Merc. This mad looking Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo is a real-life interpretation of a virtual car. Just like the GTbyCitroen that was made for Gran Turismo 5 back in 2008, this Mercedes was designed for Sony's Gran Turismo 6 for the Playstation 3 at the request of the game's creator, Kazunori Yamauchi. It caused a stir at the LA Show last month with its voluptuous curves and aggressive styling. Although this model has no engine; in the game, the AMG Vision GT has a 577hp twin-turbocharged V8. Gran Turismo 6 is due to be released this month.
Porsche Macan At last the production-ready Porsche Macan has been unveiled, another exclusive for the Los Angeles Motor Show. We've featured the concept before in the CCT and it certainly looks similar, even if the name has changed. Based on the Audi Q5, it's lighter, easier to handle and more fuel efficient than it's bigger brother the Cayenne. The Macan becomes the fifth model in Porsche's line-up and has been designed to rival the BMW X3 and Range Rover Evoque. Prices start from £43,300 for the Macan S to £59,300 for the Macan Turbo. The Macan S is the entry-level petrol model with a twin-turbo 3.0 litre V6 which gives 335bhp. It does 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 158mph. The Porsche Macan is available to order now, with the first cars due in April 2014. Fiat 500 1957. Fiat has revealed a new limited-run special edition version of the 500, designed to celebrate the 57th anniversary of the car's launch. The Fiat 500 1957 Edition gets a retro look, with a number of classic exterior colours on offer and vintage 16-inch wheels with large hubcaps painted to match the bodywork. The car is powered by the 1.4-litre version of Fiat's MultiAir engine. It goes on sale in America next spring and will hopefully make it over to Europe soon after.

Caterham Bikes. Caterham is to expand its operations by launching its own bike division, called Caterham Bikes. Three prototypes have been revealed. This one is the Brutus 750 and, according to Caterham, it is the worlds first ever two-wheel SUV as well as the first motorbike with an automatic transmission. The bikes will be launched throughout 2014.

2013 3rd November Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Sebastian Vettel jumped team-mate Mark Webber (who was on pole) on the run into turn one and didn’t look back as he made it seven wins in a row. Mark’s hopes of challenging for the win were ended when he was passed by Nico Rosberg at the first corner. He was unable to pass the Mercedes during the first stint and the Red Bull driver was delayed when he came out behind Adrian Sutil following his first pit stop on lap eight. Sebastian seemed to be in another class and when he made his first pit stop and rejoined without losing the lead. Mark passed Nico on lap 20 and went onto take second, more than 30 seconds behind Sebastian. Nico took third with Romain Grosjean fourth and Fernando Alonso fifth ahead of Paul Di Resta and Lewis Hamilton. Kimi Raikkonen retired on the first lap after breaking his front suspension in a collision with a Caterham.
17th November Austin, USA Sebastian Vettel broke one of Michael Schumacher and Alberto Ascari’s records when he took his eighth consecutive victory in a single season. Once again on pole, he sped off into the lead and began building a gap. This was cut by a safety-car period when Adrian Sutil lost control after colliding with Pastor Maldonado. On the restart on lap 5, Sebastian sped away to take the chequered flag with a 6.2 second gap. The race for second was more exciting as Mark Webber had dropped back from second to fourth at the start, behind Romain Grosjean and Lewis Hamilton. As Lewis’s tyres began to give out on lap 13, Mark overtook him and began his challenge on Romain. However, Romain looked after his tyres and was

I love putting the fire on at home, chopping some wood, maybe a bit of red wine and chill out with some chocolate”. Sebastian Vettel continues to set records, taking his fourth consecutive title, alongside only 3 other drivers: Michael Schumacher (7 titles), Juan Manuel Fangio (5) and Alain Prost (4). He is a truly great driver of our time and although I too became a little bored of the constant pole to flag finishes in the latter half of the season, and previous years, his reaction to receiving boos (”having done nothing wrong”) and recent humbleness has restored mine and I hope others opinion of the man and I will enjoy watching the 2014 season, especially with all the new engine regulations.

Winner Profile: Yvan Muller is 44 and was born in Altkirch, France. He started racing in French Formula Renault and became the French Supertouring Champion in 1995 before moving into the British Touring Cars in 1998. 2001 was an exciting season and Muller battled all season with Jason Plato, ultimately coming second when his car caught fire in the final race. In 2003, Muller became the BTCC Champion driving an Astra Coupe for Vauxhall VX Racing. He moved to the WTCC in 2006, winning the title in 2008 with Seat. Jorge Lorenzo needed to win the race and for Marc Marquez to finish fifth or worse in order to recover the 13 point deficit and take the championship. Lorenzo’s strategy was to keep the pace slow and bunch up the front group. However, Dani Pedrosa kept taking the lead only for Lorenzo to snatch it back in some risky moves, even touching bikes. Marquez was in third, but sneaked into the lead during a tussle between the front runners. Lorenzo took back the lead and he then rode off to take the win. Pedrosa took second as Marquez allowed him through, knowing that his third place finish was enough to take the title and become the youngest ever MotoGP World Champion. He got his first motorbike at 4, there’s a photo of him on it on his website marcmarquez93.es. His first taste of victory was in 2001 (aged 8) where he won the Catalan title. He joined the World Championship campaign in 2008 in the 125cc class. In the 2010 season he scored ten victories and won the 125 World Championship title. He joined the Moto2 Class in 2011 and took the title in 2012. He Joined MotoGP this year and became the first rookie to win for 35 years, since Kenny Roberts in 1978. He is also the youngest ever winner and one of only four to hold titles in all three classes.
