At the start of the 2017 edition of the night race in Singapore the two Ferrari's of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen collided with Red Bull's Max Verstappen in spectacular fashion, sending all three drivers out of the race even before it got properly underway. In the days following the race, pundits and fans were - and still are - throwing the blame around as to who was actually at fault. Was it Vettel who veered into Verstappen's path with his aggressive defensive manoeuvre? Which he did so without touching his rival's car - a calculated move that paid off for a brief moment.
Was it perhaps Raikkonen who should have known not to drive that close to another driver on cold tyres? What if the fault was not either of the Ferrari drivers? Maybe it was Verstappens fault for not easing on the brakes knowing that Raikkonen is alongside him, Verstappen opted to steer left and into him. Who then took Fernando Alonso out of the race.

The advanced piece of technology is a sleek watch design and unique functionality which will serve to long distance lorry drivers among the greatest options will be the simple timing function. Scania Watch is an easy way of collecting information about parameters including fuel consumption, driving efficiency and average speed. Kitty Hawk, a Silicon Valley-based company backed by Google co-founder Larry Page, recently unveiled its Flyer in a video fit for the country club set; i.e. something to add to your yacht collection. Starting off at home base, Retro Valencia is one of the most important classic car and motorcycle fairs in Spain. It emphasizes the homage that is realized in each edition to a pilot of reputation, the participation of clubs of the Valencian region in stands, or the concentrations of classics. Free and guarded parking for cars and vintage motorcycles, free sale area for private owners, and shopping area for vehicle parts, gifts, documentation and souvenirs from the world of classic motor. The Retro Auto & Moto will take place on 3 days from Friday, 13. October to Sunday, 15. October 2017 in Valencia.
The second event is in England, TRAX is one of the largest public track days at Silverstone and has had enthusiasts at its heart since the show started as a club meeting over 20 years ago .With over 4,000 club cars on display, expect to see everything from striped out track weapons to the very latest performance and tuned motors! This ultimate performance car event will feature live track action on the Silverstone Circuit, and gives you the opportunity to unleash your inner racing driver with public track time. It's a fantastic day out with some spectacular shows,including the tyre-shredding drift demos from the British Drift Championship. The show will be held at Silverstone on Sunday 1st October with tickets starting from ÂŁ25. Then last but not least Germany to the Motorworld Classics in Berlin which is aimed at both, trade visitors, dealers and buyers of classic cars and high-quality automotive rarities as well as lovers of classic cars. It is therefore an attractive meeting point for connoisseurs and lovers of the automotive scene. National and international car manufacturers, top traders, technology specialists for automobile curiosities, accessory provider, lots of dedicated clubs of the scene and private sellers will be showcasing and selling their products and services. When Martin Brundle, Johnny Herbert and Damon Hill get together with the rest of the Sky Formula One presentation team, their combined talents give us fans almost unrestricted access to everything from the Pit Wall to the Private Lives of everyone who is a player in the multi-million pound spectacle that is Formula One. On a smaller scale Chanel 4's David Coultard with Eddie Jordon and their team glide easily along the pit lane catching the gossip as they go. Both TV teams have their expert analysis and up to the minute commentary that is in stark contrast to the one man show that was Murray Walker – the voice of Motorsport for �ive decades and whose enthusiastic commentary and occasionally hapless "Murrayisms" became legendary as statements of his spontaneous logic. Here are a few of my favourites: "This is an interesting circuit because it has inclines, and not just up but down as well.” “The gap between the two cars is 0.9 seconds – that's less than a second.” “He's in front of everyone in this race, except for the two in front of him.” “Into lap 53, the penultimate last lap but one.”
“Do my eyes deceive me or is Senna's car sounding a bit rough?”
“Speaking from memory, I don't know how many points Piquet's got.” “Now Prost can see Mansell in his earphones.” “I've just stopped my startwatch.”
“The �irst four cars are both on the same tyres.”
“And now Laf�ite is as close to Surer as Surer is to Laf�ite.” “There's nothing wrong with the car except it's on �ire.”
“I imagine the conditions in that car are totally unimaginable.”

Murray's versatility was stretched when he was asked to commentate on a horse race as part of ITV's 1978 Sports Review of the Year. Describing the leading jockey, with a riderless horse running alongside him Murray's enthusiasm for the moment kicked in - “.....He's absolutely determined to win, he's even brought a spare horse....” And �inally – One of Murray's own stories from the early days relates to the BBC radio coverage of the Isle of Man TT races of 1957 when he was one of 5 commentators spread around the 37 mile circuit. Some like David Southwood were in roadside telephone boxes from where they phoned in their live report as the riders passed by. It was Murray's father, Graham Walker, anchoring and directing operations from the TT Grandstand who anticipating events announced: “And now race leader Geoff Duke is due at Creg ny Baa within seconds, so over to David Southwood.” Leaning through the door of his phone box an excited Southwood burst onto the airwaves, “Perfect timing Graham! As I look up the hill I can see Geoff, crouched over the tank of his Norton, hurtling round the bend at Kate's Cottage, racing down towards me. Will The N332 Finally Be Widened At Last The mayor of Torrevieja, José Manuel Dolón, has reported that the Ministry of Development has once more taken up the issue about the modifications to the N332 project and set it in motion again. The mayor has received a letter from the Minister, The mayor presented to the press on the 12 th September the number of letters and other forms of Inigo de la Serna, which communication that have been made by the indicates that the General present local government. THE MOTORSPORT MONTH by Richard O'Rourke 2017 The Motorsport Month Oct 2017 Drama on and (mostly) off the track this month in all three disciplines as the silly season kicks in and the World of motorsport is laden with rumours of who goes where and when.
MotoGP In Moto GP the off track news concerned Valentino Rossi and his fall from an enduro bike in which he broke his right leg in two places. He missed the Misano (Italy) round of the championship but miraculously returned to the track for the Spanish race in Aragón just 24 days after the accident.
Formula One In Formula 1, McLaren and Honda finally announced the almost inevitable split and with it, the equally inevitable announcement that they (McLaren) would be using Renault engines next year. This, seemingly, is enough to keep Fernando Alonso on board and so they will enter 2018 as a customer team while Toro Rosso will have the ubiquitous honour of having the works Honda power unit.
He held second place for a while but eventually fell back to finish fifth. In Misano Marquez took the lead on the last lap and led home the Ducatis of Petrucci and Dovizioso and in doing so drew level with Dovi at the head of the championship standings. In Aragón it was Marquez again who won, finishing ahead of Pedrosa and Lorenzo with Dovizioso seventh and he now leads by 16 points with just four races remaining.
The senior Red Bull team continue with Renault power but only for one more year so Horner, Newey and Co must be hoping that the Honda donkey shows some pace and that they will be the ultimate beneficiaries in 2019. Carlos Sainz became part of the deal and moves from Toro Rosso to the Factory Renault team but only on a loan basis and may well return to the fold in 2019 as a Red Bull driver if either Ricciardo or Verstappen move on to greener pastures. Aston Martin take over as title sponsors of RBR next year and another story doing the rounds is that Porsche are ready to enter the World of F1 and will buy Red Bull and develop their own power unit to coincide with the new engine regs in 2021.
Thanks to constant development the Hondas are the class act at this point of the season and, whereas earlier in the year Ducati had the upper hand on the power circuits and Yamaha held sway on the handling circuits, the Hondas now seem to be the better machines all round.
On the track Hamilton and Mercedes took expected victories in Belgium and Italy and a most unexpected one in Singapore when the two Ferraris and Verstappen tangled on the first lap and left the door open for fifth on the grid Hamilton to waltz through and take the lead and the win and with it a 28 point lead in the championship. It was declared a racing accident but there is no doubt that it was Vettel who squeezed Verstappen and initiated the whole affair. The Italian press were loud in their condemnation of Vettel and they see it as the turning point in the season when Ferrari hand Mercedes the title. Hard to argue with that!

WRC Rumour upon rumour as to who is going where next year but part of the speculation has already been resolved with the news that Andreas Mikkelsen in off To join Hyundai and will in fact debut for the team next week in Rally Cataluna. Stories abound that Seb Ogier will return to Citroen and that, despite his recent disappointing results, Kris Meeke will keep his seat. Will the Ford factory give it’s full backing to Malcolm Wilson’s M Sport team? If not, they will find it hard to attract a top driver as the other teams continue to develop as factory teams. Tanak will stay but who will partner him? Could Neuville be tempted away from Hyundai or will one of the new breed of Flying Finns join the blue oval? Toyota seem settled and look set to hold on to Latvala and Lappi while at Hyundai Sordo and Paddon look less secure. All will be revealed soon and there may also be news of another major manufacturer joining in the fun. Watch this space!

MAC - Miguel Angel Castilla Those of you who have been anywhere near a motorcycle (or bicycle for that matter!) on the open road, will know that it can be a VERY scary place indeed! Legs act as "bumpers" and arms take the place of the bodywork usually found on other vehicles. I remember that happy day when, after riding round the block a few times on my Honda 250cc whilst an "examiner" hid in doorways and behind trees, I got to tear up the L-Plates! Yes, really! It was THAT easy! Six months later I was piloting a 900cc Honda and terrifying the local populace, as well as myself! LOL!

Things are a lot tougher now for wannabe Marquezs/Pedrosas and so they should be! The level of traffic on the roads has increased expotentially over the past 40 years. as we are aware, motorcycles are inherently unstable and extremely vulnerable, so what can be done? Apart from an outright ban by Governments (it WILL happen eventually, trust me!); well quite a lot actually! For instance, the more time you spend on the road the greater your risk of becoming a "statistic", so you could buy an FJR1300 and cut down your riding time that way! LOL!! OK OK..calm down. before "Outraged of Orihuela" or "Catatonic of Catral" write in....it´s only a joke! hahahaha Seriously though, Advanced Training of some sort should be on all biker´s "to do" lists! But where and with whom?! In the UK we are blessed with ROSPA, Bikesafe (Police run courses) and even the venerable, good old I AM...in addition to a plethora of private companies...some excellent, some NOT so excellent. "But we´re in Spain!" I hear you cry!? Yes, and it´s always been a bit of a difficult issue to resolve for me...the apparent lack od "aspiration" of Spanish riders to improve/become safer via training?! (But then, they DO run through the streets with Bulls!! And have you had a look at their building sites? H&S would go into meltdown! LOL). Do you remember a few years ago, Honda started offering courses to new bike purchasers through their dealers? They were called Motorcycle Appreciation Courses or MAC for short. Yeah, me too. So when I saw mention of motorcycle training being offered by "MAC", my interest was piqued to say the least. I was able to track down one of their "instructors", Victor. Eventually, we managed to meet to chat about what it was that they offered etc. "MAC" stands for "Miguel Angel Castilla", founder of the company and former 125 and 250cc world champion! Miguel started the company after an operation on his arms cut short his racing career.But as we all know, once a biker, as Miguel looked around to find a way of remaining involved in motorcycling, he noticed that despite plenty of Track days/Track training being about; there was little if any available that focused on road riding and "safety"! In 1995 MAC was formed and has gone from strength to strength. Although the actual tuition takes place on tracks, the emphasis is very much orientated towards road riding and assisting riders become safer. MAC courses take place throughout the year at various tracks (Even our very own cartagena!) and MAC now even provide courses for numerous Policia Local organisations. Victor comes across as a very genuine guy, he explained things in a precise noncondescending manner and was at great pains to be clear that the emphasis was all about safety. He assures me that all the instructors are of a similar ilk etc. But, in order for me to able to pass on to you (dear readers!) their abilities etc with total confidence, they have invited me to observe one of their courses in September at Cartagena. Following that, I´ll report back via this very esteemed periodical, and Victor tells me they will make special provision for you Non-Spanish speakers after the second article is out! 5 Cars You Wouldn’t Believe Are Made In Spain! Here is the GTA, which doesn't stand for Grand Theft Auto but the GTA Spano. With its powerful V10 Twin Turbo Intercooler 7,990cc engine and a maximum power: hp/rpm: 925/6300 Torque (nm): 1220. Its a rear wheel drive and has a CIMA automatic sequential 7 speed with paddle shift. The GTA Spano had AP racing carbon-ceramic brake system which you would need as its maximum speed is more than 370km/h and it acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.
The Comarth Xtamy has a roadster type body with a mid mounted engine powering the rear wheels. Its 2 litre engine is a naturally aspirated, double overhead camshaft, 4 cylinder unit that produces 143 bhp (145 PS/107 kW) of power at 6000 rpm, and maximum torque of 185 N·m (136 lb·ft/18.9 kgm) at 4500 rpm. Its stated kerb weight is 795 kg. The Comarth Xtamy is claimed to achieve a top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph).
The Tramontana won’t exactly win any beauty contests, but what it lacks in overall physical appeal, it more than makes up for in power.
Here we have the Tauro V8 Spider. Not only is it easy on the eye, the specifications aren't too bad either. It's got a GM-sourced 6.2-liter V8 LS3 E-Rod engine that produces a whopping 440 horsepower at 6,200 rpm 432 lb/ft of torque and mated to a manual six-speed transmission. From there, you can terrify the passenger behind you to your heart’s content. The Spanish firm DSD Design Motorsport based in Santa Pola is working on a new hypercar “The Boreas”. While the details have not yet been confirmed, the Boreas wish list includes a hybrid powertrain with an engine and electric motor that generates 100HP, offers selectable four-wheel-drive, and is even capable of driving for a bit solely on electricity.
