RALLY XIXONA 2018 Known as one of the most complex, “car-eating” rallies in the Valencia region, this year was no exception. With 76 participants, 25 cars and drivers retired due to crashes & break-downs. The first stage held on the evening of Friday 21st was short but challenging. One of our advertisers, Car Broker Spain, who were competing in their first rally succeeded in ending the 1st stage second in their class. Saturday saw experienced drivers crash and others retire due to engine problems. Unfortunately, Car Broker Spain Motorsport had to retire half way through day 2 due to engine problems, but, much was learnt in their first event and now they look forward to Rally Gandia on the 20th October. The winner of the rally was Jose Javier Perez in a Renault Clio R3T. Car Broker Spain Motorsport wish to thank all of their sponsors and supporters in particular Head Mechanic Matt JM who had the team focused and had the car prepared to the best standard possible. fwreurocars.com Petrol Pumps Get New EU Symbols Spain will join the rest of the EU on the petrol and diesel classification, the official date is set for Friday 12th October, but don’t panic because the new system will be running in parallel with the old one for a while. The new symbols, which will be uniform in all 28 EU countries (including the UK will still be a part of the union at this point) as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey, and will consist of letter and numbers within squares, circles and diamonds. This system also contemplates the amounts of ethanol in petrol and bio-diesel in diesel fuel.
The squares will indicate diesel, drivers will be choosing from B7, B10 and XTL, which refer to the percentages of bio-diesel which different engines are able to handle.
The circles will indicate petrol, drivers we will have to choose from E5, E10 and E85, referring to the amount of ethanol contained in petrol.
The diamonds will indicate gas fuel, the different kinds of gas specified are hydrogen (H2), compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG)

935 Moby Dick At it's sixth Rennsport Reunion Porsche just unveiled a stunner. The new 935 is a recreation of the famous "Moby Dick" that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. And it's not a concept—Porsche will sell 77 examples to its best customers, who will be able to track it to their heart's desire.
"Because the car isn’t homologated, engineers and designers didn’t have to follow the usual rules and thus had freedom in the development."
Only 77 new 935s will be built, and they'll each cost €701,948 (roughly $817,000). THE MOTORSPORT MONTH F1 Singapore GP: Hamilton wins from Verstappen and Vettel Lewis Hamilton swept to a virtually unchallenged win in the 2018 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix as another Ferrari tactical blunder cost Sebastian Vettel the chance of victory. Vettel had to settle for third place behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen. Hamilton and Vettel made the best starts of the top three and the pole-sitting Mercedes cut cleanly through the first two corners as second-placed Verstappen had to defend his position from Vettel. Behind them, Sergio Perez nudged his Force India teammate Esteban Ocon into the outside wall at Turn 2, eliminating him from the race and bringing out the safety car. But before race control took the decision to neutralise the race, Vettel had made use of a better exit from Turn 5 to draw alongside Verstappen and pass him on the outside into Turn 7. In their wake, the majority of the top 10 got away in grid order , but ultrasoft runners Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz each gained two positions on the opening lap, at the expense of Nico Hulkenberg and the absent Ocon. The race got under way again on lap 4 but the frontrunners were running cautiously, nearly 11 seconds off qualifying pace, so as to manage their fragile hypersoft tyres and extend the first stint as far as possible. Vettel was the first to pit, on lap 14, taking on a set of ultrasofts. The stop would prove disastrous for Vettel, since he emerged behind Perez and spent two laps bottled up behind him. Hamilton and Verstappen pitted on successive laps to take on soft Pirellis with a clear strategy of running to the end with no further stops. Hamilton returned seamlessly into the net lead, and although Verstappen's engine stuttered slightly as he left the pit apron, he just squeaked ahead of Vettel into Turn 2. The initial pitstop phase left Hamilton with a 3s lead over Verstappen once Ricciardo became the last of the frontrunners to change tyres, on lap 27. Vettel was a frustrated third, telling his team: "We were again too late. We will not make it to the end." While Hamilton, Verstappen, Vettel and Bottas nursed their tyres to the finish, a battle for fourth place erupted in the closing laps as Ricciardo closed in on and challenged Raikkonen, who in turn crept up on Bottas. But nothing came of it and Bottas crossed the line 1s clear. Alonso won 'class B' for McLaren from 11th on the grid, taking advantage of a long first stint on the ultrasofts to gain track position at the expense of Perez and Grosjean, and then undercutting Sainz for seventh place when he made his single stop on lap 38 to finish 7th. Russian GP: Hamilton wins after Mercedes team orders Lewis Hamilton extended his Formula 1 title advantage over Sebastian Vettel with victory in the Russian Grand Prix after Mercedes ordered Valtteri Bottas to move aside. .

Bottas led from pole and was running in the de facto race lead, behind the long-running Max Verstappen, when he was told to let Hamilton past to protect himf from Vettel. Hamilton's eighth victory of the season means his lead over Vettel is now 50 points with five races to go and 125 points up for grabs after Bottas, who sacrificed a first win of 2018 for his teammate, restricted the Ferrari driver to third. Mercedes acted on lap 25, telling Bottas to slow and let Hamilton by at Turn 13, which he did. Verstappen made a great start and got into 5th position fairly early in the race.Max actually led the most laps of all drivers in this race.Vettel came in 3rd and Kimi 4th,Max was 5th on his 21st birthday and was driver of the day. MOTO GP Andrea Dovizioso scored a straightforward third win of the MotoGP season at Misano ahead of Marc Marquez, as Jorge Lorenzo crashed out of second place. Dovizioso scored Ducati's third successive race win - the first time the Italian marque has taken a hat-trick since 2008 - after scything his way from fourth on the grid in the opening laps and then setting a pace his adversaries couldn't match. Lorenzo and Marquez managed to close the gap in the latter stages until the former slid out at the Turn 8 left-hander on the penultimate lap, which left Dovizioso with a clear run to victory.
Marquez made his move on lap 14 of 23 to retake the lead into Turn 14, but Dovizioso stuck with the reigning champion and grabbed the advantage back two laps later. Their battle allowed the two Suzuki riders, now with Iannone leading the charge, back into the frame, and on lap 19 the Italian rider came very close to taking the lead as a Marquez attack on Dovizioso went awry. Marquez ran slightly wide at Turn 14, and found himself sandwiched between Dovizioso and Iannone heading through Turn 15 heading on to the long back straight in one of the race's more memorable moments. But Marquez soon took back second, and after a failed attempt at passing Dovizioso on lap 20, he made the move stick heading into the first corner on the next tour - and duly extended a small gap to win by six tenths. Iannone brought it home in third ahead of Rins, marking Suzuki's fifth podium of the season. It also means the Hamamatsu brand loses its concessions for 2019.Alvaro Bautista (Nieto Ducati) was the only other crasher besides Lorenzo and Crutchlow. WRC Tanak seals win, Neuville tops Power Stage
Poleman Lorenzo hung onto the lead in the opening sequence of corners ahead of fellow front-row starter Jack Miller, as Marquez jumped to third ahead of Dovizioso.
Toyota WRC driver Ott Tanak boosted his title hopes after sealing his third successive win in Turkey, as championship leader Thierry Neuville took maximum bonus points in the Power Stage.
But by the end of the lap Dovizioso had cleared both Marquez and Miller to move into second, and on the sixth lap of 27 he eased past Lorenzo on the run down to the Turn 8 left-hander to assume command. By that time, Pramac Ducati man Miller had crashed out of what had become fourth.
Tanak took a 13-second lead into the final day. He stretched his lead out to 19.7s over the course of the three morning stages and after taking third on the Power Stage he ended up with a final margin of 22.3s over second-placed Latvala.
Marquez and Lorenzo, engaged in a thrilling scrap over second, edged back towards Dovizioso in the final five laps but the Italian was able to stabilise his gap and finally take the chequered flag by 2.8s after Lorenzo's crash. Behind Marquez, LCR Honda's Cal Crutchlow who ran a lonely fourth for most of the race - was promoted to the final podium spot, a further 4s down on Marquez, followed by Suzuki man Alex Rins. Honda rider Marquez passed Dovizioso with three laps remaining at one of his strongest venues on the calendar to claim a victory that puts him within touching distance of his fifth premier-class title. Andrea Iannone threatened to make it a three-way fight for honours at one stage but settled for third, marking the Suzuki rider's first top-three finish since May's Jerez race. One likely victory contender dropped out at the very start, as poleman Jorge Lorenzo drifted wide at the first corner and suffered a major high-side crash, one that resulted in the Ducati man sustaining a dislocated toe. That left second-place starter Dovizioso leading Marquez and the two Suzukis of Alex Rins and Iannone, who spent the opening part of the race squabbling over third. The order out front remained more or less unchanged as a large train of riders formed, but at around half-distance Dovizioso and Marquez started to up the ante and edge away from their pursuers.
Tanak's victory and three bonus points means he overhauls Sebastien Ogier and moves up to second in the standings . After bowing out of contention with broken front-left suspension on Saturday, Neuville rejoined on Sunday, winning SS14 before taking it easy on the following two tests ahead of the Power Stage. The Belgian was the only driver to breach the five-minute barrier on the 7.14km Manmaris test, salvaging five bonus points in the process. Ogier won both SS15 and SS16, climbing into 10th overall, but the M-Sport Ford driver fell 1.6s short of Neuville on the Power Stage as he struggled with a rear-left puncture. Latvala was fourth on the Power Stage, securing two bonus points, while Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) took the final bonus point in fifth. Overall, top Hyundai driver Hayden Paddon claimed the final spot on the podium over a minute behind Latvala, marking his first top-three finish of the season, ahead of M-Sport's Teemu Suninen and Andreas Mikkelsen's Hyundai. Henning Solberg was sixth in his R5 Skoda Fabia, ahead of fellow Skoda driver Jan Kopecky, who sealed the WRC2 title with his fifth class win of the year. Simone Tempestini (Citroen) and Chris Ingram (Skoda) benefitted from the heavy attrition among the WRC runners to take points for eighth and ninth overall, ahead of Ogier. Expo Torrevieja returns to Torrevieja’s International Auditorium on October 20 and 21st. On the morning of Sunday, October 21 we are having a classic car and bike display in the lower carpark beside the auditorium. Everyone is welcome to display their classic or specialist or different car or bike at the display. Vehicles should be in position before 945am. We will open the doors for entry for the display at 9:15 AM. Everyone is welcome. The more the merrier. Doors to exporter of yakka open at 10 AM and stay open until 3 PM. After almost 16 years without playing hockey The Old Raiders got back together and played in a masters tournament in England. They played 9 games in 2 days, he said it was knackering as the age requirement was 36 and their average age was 50. They loved every second of it and even though they only won 1 of the 9 games , they entertained the crowds so much they got invited to play in Spain at the Fuengirola vets tournament in April. This time the boys might actually train and bring the cup home. The tournament was held to celebrate the life of a former player Danielle Carter who sadly lost her life in an IRA bomb attack in London, her 2 brothers organised this to show she's not been forgotten. The Raiders started in 1992 and sadly finished playing around 2004.
