28 January 2011 MEDIA RELEASE IBAB ties-up with IGNOU, announces M.Sc admissions The Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) announces admission to its M.Sc in ‘Bioinformatics and Biotechnology’ programme in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU) School of Science. The M.Sc programme will be a regular face-to-face at the IBAB campus in Bengaluru and students with bachelor’s degree in any branch of science or technology are eligible to pursue it. IBAB is a ‘center of excellence’ in research and training in bioinformatics- Department of Information Technology, Government of India. The course will provide competence in both biotechnology and computational biology/bioinformatics by providing training in the areas of cell and molecular biology, computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, etc. The campus has state of art facilities for both bioinformatics and biotechnology. Applicants are encouraged to look at the YouTube video on the website for the same or may also visit the institute’s website for the same. The application forms are available for students till April 14, 2011 at IBAB, Biotech Park, Electronics City, Bengaluru 560 100. The institute describes the admission procedure starting with an online written test (from anywhere) from 2nd to 6th May 2011, after which there will be an interview session which would be held at Bengaluru only from 6th to 10th June 2011.
