Mountain Bike - Comfort SMC3 Series Performance and Comfort for mountain biking. Developed as an all round saddle, ideal for long day tour riders and those wanting more cushioning. The ergonomic focus of the saddle is optimized relief for the soft tissue. The specially designed shape and the pronounced relief channel are ideal for those with sensitivity in this area. Newly developed, high damping orthopaedic padding with micro air cushions is utilized. Compared to the SMR3, the saddle is softer and thicker.
SMC3 Pro
Relief Channel A 6 mm deep relief channel, with a raised sitting platform gives effective protection to the soft tissue areas. Construction allows for various sitting positions front to back, unlike with competing ‘Step Saddles’ on the market.

Mountain Bike - Marathon Racing SMR3 Series The Marathon Saddle. The evolution of the most successful endurance mountain bike saddle in recent times. Road Bike - CycloCross SRX3 Series Road and CycloCross Saddle. Available in 2015 in size S. Flatter saddle, with a V-Shaped form for increased freedom of movement when compared to typical road bike saddles – ideal for the many position changes in CycloCross. Thanks to the lightly upward curve at the rear, the rider can push back into the saddle to get more power to the pedals, while the flat form allows for easy dismounts and remounts in CX races. Latest AirCell Padding with micro air pockets for increased rebound, support and damping.

Introduced in 2014 and already a firm favourite in the Enduro and Gravity scene. The first ergonomic, rider orientated grip for wide riser bars. Supports the popular elbows out hand/arm position downhill – by turning the hand area of the grip 8%, the elbows are automatically in the correct position. “Voila” as Fab Barel would say, who helped develop the product. Forged aluminium inboard clamp, fully integrated ‘end plug’ which is part of the internal skeleton (patent pending) – this allows the grip edge to be soft, damping vibrations so the hand can be placed right at the end of the bars. The pressure sensitive ulnar nerve on the outer hand is therefore protected.

Brand New: All Mountain / Gravity grip with non biased layout. The GA2 has a superb tactile feel thanks to the new super soft, UV stable rubber compound, which is exclusively developed and manufactured in Germany for Ergon. This translates on demanding trials into more control. The ergonomic optimised form allows reduced force to be used when gripping, as the grip zones are matched to the hand. The inner construction varies in thickness to allow greater damping. The inboard clamp allows even more grip area at the end of the bars, and is completely secure and carbon bar friendly. The Marathon Racer’s Grip Used by the Topeak Ergon Racing Team, the most successful endurance team of recent times. The GS grip was modified in 2014, and now features a new clamp construction which is carbon bar compatible. For 2015, the improvements continue, with a new rubber compound, better damping and increased steering accuracy. The exclusive to Ergon, certified rubber compound is made in Germany. The production of which uses medical white oils, and the compound meets the highest purity standards.
GX1 A lightweight grip for racing. Compact grip body with a slim protruding wing, and a slim radius in the mid section. More compact than the GS1. Dr. Kim Tofaute As one of the pioneers of Sports Ergonomics in Germany, his vast experience and in depth knowledge has seen the 43 year old work for over 25 years in the bicycle industry. The passion which he had in his earliest memories for cycling, saw him race at a high level, and bicycles became his career. Having studied sports science and he elected to do a Doctorate in Sports Ergonomics – making him one of a handful in Europe. From 1998 to 2004 he worked at the German Sports University in Cologne, where he also did some lecturing. At the same time he gained his ‘A’ license for coaching cyclists. In 2005 he joined Ergon as the head of the development team, where he worked until 2011. He is now the head of the Ergon Ergonomics Laboratory, the Managing Director of his own company ‘Dr. Tofaute Sports Ergonomics Consulting’ and is intensively involved in bike fitting. As an expert in this field, he is in demand all over Germany, as professionals and amateurs alike seek more comfort, power and performance on the bike.
