How to Invest in the Hearts of Your Children Rick Warner

Session  •  Faculty Dining Room

Scripture states, “He shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers” (Malachi 4:6). Rick has found this statement to be a vital part of raising children who love and serve the Lord, not only in his own life but also with the ALERT Cadet program. Rick was blessed with a special relationship with his father. What he learned from that relationship enabled him to enjoy a close relationship with his own children. Rick has coached many other fathers to help them build deep relationships with their children.

The ABC’s of Christianity Mark Wilkes Often we make complicated theorems to try to figure out a solution because we have overlooked simple truths outlined in Scripture. Listen as Mark Wilkes and his sons share how they have found the simple “ABC’s” of Christianity.

How to Honor Your Parents (SONS ONLY) Daniel Wilkes & Brothers One of the hardest lessons to learn is how to honor your parents. However, there is a powerful promise given for those who do honor their parents. Mark Wilkes

Peter Magnuson

If you are not loving your wife as Christ loved the Church, then anything else you do really does not matter and all the other work you accomplish may indeed be iniquity. If you say you love God and you are having trouble loving your wife, you might want to have a “heart check-up.” Mark will share from his own failures how he learned to love his wife. This love not only impacted his walk with the Lord, but also transformed his relationship with his wife.

It is a special thing these days to have eight children and keep the hearts of each of them. As a matter of fact, it is extraordinary. And coming from a son it is especially valuable to hear how that was done. Peter Magnuson will discuss the differences between faith-based, fear-based, and flesh-based parenting.

IBLP Ministry Update and Charge to Fathers Tim Levendusky

1:00

Mark Wilkes What is your thought pattern when faced with impossible challenges and circumstances? You will either face life based upon the grace of God, or live in constant defeat and condemnation. All through Scripture we see heroes of faith who were imperfect men who kept their eyes on Jesus, the source of all grace to face all circumstances. It is that simple. Are you willing to keep it simple?

Things I’ve Learned En Route Marv Behr So many times we arrive at a conclusion in our walk with the Lord, our marriage, or our personal convictions and hope to have our children embrace them as well. However, if we do not approach these topics with a great measure of compassion and love we may not only have our children react to our stand, but reject it altogether. Listen as Marv Behr shares some of the lessons he has learned in passing the torch over the many years he has worked with his own children as well as the many young men who come through the ALERT Academy.
