I hope you had a chance to watch my June First Friday Podcast where I shared mid-year updates on our key priorities. I want to thank the Research Family for making their voice heard during the Vital Voices Engagement Survey, the Physician Engagement Survey and much more. I greatly appreciate the feedback from our colleagues. In fact, I’ve had the opportunity to thoroughly review over 3,000 comments that we received from the Vital Voices Engagement Pulse Survey. I look forward to continuing to partner together to make improvements and take action based on the results of the survey. Please make sure to attend a session in your department where your department specific results will be shared. Our leadership team is committed to ensuring that meaningful conversations and actions take place as a result of these surveys.

3 RESEARCH MEDICAL CENTER CEO ASHLEY MCCLELLAN NAMED TO KANSAS CITY BUSINESS JOURNAL'S WOMEN WHO MEAN BUSINESS CLASS OF 2021 Out of hundreds of nominations, the Kansas City Business Journal selected Research Medical Center CEO Ashley McClellan as one of the Women Who Mean Business class of 2021 honorees. We are beyond proud of this recognition due to her passionate dedication to Research Medical Center’s staff and patients as well as to the Kansas City community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Read more on why Ashley was selected and join us in congratulating her on this honor by visiting Facebook.com/ResearchMedicalCenter.
RESEARCH COLLEAGUES LEAD SUCCESSFUL UNION DECERTIFICATION We are pleased to share that a majority of employees have chosen to remove SEIU as their representative, decertifying the SEIU here at Research. With this vote, we believe we can better accomplish our mission to care and improve human life when we have mutual trust, respect and open lines of communication with our colleagues. At the same time, we recognize there are some employees who may be disappointed about this outcome. And although the process was at times difficult, it’s now a time to heal, reflect and look to our future. We are committed to working together with all colleagues – regardless of their position in this vote – to make our facilities a better place for all. To learn more, please visit ResearchMedicalCenter.com/Newsroom.
NATIONAL BLOOD SHORTAGE - WILL YOU DONATE? Did you know there is currently a nationwide blood shortage? Research Medical Center is partnering with the American Red Cross of Missouri to provide a convenient place for our colleagues and the community to donate blood. Our next blood drive will be held on Friday, July 2 from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm in our 1N Conference Room (2316 E Meyer Blvd, Kansas City, MO, 64132). Please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: ResearchMC to schedule an appointment. If you donated at the June 21st blood drive, you must wait 8 weeks before giving blood again. RE S E AR C H M EDICAL C ENTER • A P UB LI CATI ON FOR STA FF, P H YS I CI A N S A N D FRI E N DS
