Integrity Compassion Always Respect Excellence

Hello Research Family, Wow! The month of May brings so much excitement to the world of healthcare and right here at RMC - Nurses Week, Hospital Week, EMS Week, Vital Voices Employee Engagement Survey and more. We hope our Research Family felt appreciated during our Nurses Week and Hospital Week events. Your dedication to the care of our patients is unmatched, and I am so very grateful for that. In addition to our appreciation events, we hosted our annual EMS Week "Great Save" event, which reunites RMC patients with their first responders and RMC caregivers. Each patient who arrives through our emergency department has a special story. We were thankful that we were able to recognize two of those patients: John Akin, heart attack survivor, and Kalen Meredith, car crash survivor. See more on page 3. As this busy month comes to a close with Memorial Day weekend, I hope you are able to take some time to slow down and kickoff summer with those you love. Although COVID numbers are trending downward over the past couples of weeks, I encourage you to continue taking precautions including getting the COVID vaccine and wearing a mask. Warm regards,

kimberle.bovard@hcamidwest.com

7 AMERICAN GROUP CMO AND CNE VISIT

We had the opportunity to host Dr. Pranav Mehta, Chief Medical Officer, and Erika Rossito, Chief Nurse Executive, for the American Group, here at Research Medical Center to conduct a Deep Dive review of our Quality Program. Overall, the team was very complimentary of the work being done to improve the quality of care for patients at Research Medical Center.

PRESCRIPTION TAKE BACK DAY

Research Medical Center proudly partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs for our community. Together, at this National Prescription Drug Take Back Day event, we collected more than 91 pounds of unused medication.

WALK MS EVENT AT RESEARCH MEDICAL CENTER Research Medical Center hosted a Walk MS event in support of the National MS Society. Our very own Jillian Wright, RN Recruitment Liaison, started the team with her identical twin sister, Kara, as both Jillian and Kara have MS. MS is an unpredictable and often disabling disease, yet Jillian and Kara don’t let it get them down. Thank you for showing we #CareLikeFamily and supporting this cause. Together, we raised more than $2,500. R E S E AR C H MED ICAL C ENTER • A P UB LI CATI ON FOR STA FF, P H YS I CI A N S A N D FRI E N DS
