Dear Members and Friends, The 11th issue of The ItalianCham Magazine is dedicated to the Greater Bay Area (GBA) initiative, with a general introduction and its numerous and relevant opportunities in several areas offered to companies based in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong SAR government, as the acknowledgement both of the relevance of the initiative and of the leading role our city plays, has defined and implemented several supporting initiatives, including – but not limited to – financial support for start-ups in several sectors, young talent attraction, R&D initiatives.

Coupled with the above and to the dramatic transformation in several categories caused by the pandemic, it has been noticed an increase in the number of companies evaluating the GBA opportunities and, in several cases, starting the implementation phase of their plans.

It is also important to highlight the flourishing start-ups business environment in Hong Kong and hear about the future development and planning of GBA in 2021 by sharing the point of view about entrepreneurship, youth innovation and technology.

Experienced experts and fresh entrepreneurs will inspire and help our readers, especially when discussing challenges and opportunities for start-ups.

We hope the testimonies from the experienced experts in different fields on entrepreneurship, youth innovation and technology will provide you with a clear picture of the opportunities and the challenges of the GBA initiative, inspiring and making you more confident in taking the next development step into this formidable new “bay area”.
