Five Simple Ways To Create A Fresh You in 2021

Wow! What a challenging time we live in. We have much more overall volatility in our daily lives in many areas and across multiple sectors than in most years past. For many of us, over the past 9 months our emotions have been running on high alert with no end in sight. Thank goodness for New Years and the chance to hit the reset button!

While we may not be able to control the economy, our industry, the stock market or the pandemic, we do have the option of controlling our emotions. The new year is a great opportunity to start off with a clean slate and create your own masterpiece.

Every day is a new chance to make small changes. Consistent small changes have momentum and can produce a huge positive change.

Here are my five favorite simple tips you can do now to create a fresh you in 2021: Health - yes, I know you’ve heard this before. If you’re not a health guru, don’t let it paralyze you, take small steps and reward yourself with pampering. You can start off with deep breathing and stretching. Get outside and go for a walk or take a midday dance break. It’s more important than ever to step away from your computer and take a few minutes for yourself.

Gratitude - take a few minutes each day to think of at least three things you are grateful for, this will improve your overall mood. A consistent practice of gratitude can help you build stronger relationships and overcome challenges.

Connection - make time to spend with those you love. Be present and genuinely connect with those who are important to you.

Focus - Set goals (write them down) and spend at least 10 minutes a day doing one thing that will get you closer to your goals.

Pick a word for 2021. Think of it as your overall theme for the year. Write the word down, include its definition, what it means to you, why it’s your word and put it somewhere you will see it every morning and evening. Read it outloud at least twice a day.
