LIKELY LADS Celebrating the faces that helped make Chelsea famous, Iconic Images Gallery is pleased to announce “Chelsea Girls & Likely Lads”, featuring the photography of Norman Parkinson, Justin de Villeneuve, Michael Ward, Terry O’Neill, Terence Donovan and Douglas Kirkland. Chelsea became synonymous with establishing a “life is fabulous” philosophy and shone brightly through a decade defined as ‘the swinging sixties’. Iconic’s exhibition ‘Chelsea Girls & Likely Lads’ features the work of seven iconic photographers who captured the fame, fashion and fortune of captivating Chelsea during this pivotal era. From the ‘girls’ Jean Shrimpton, Twiggy, Pattie Boyd, Julie Christie and Penelope Tree to the ‘lads’ Michael Caine, Terence Stamp, David Bailey and Keith Richards, these are images and faces that defined a generation and helped create movie stars, rock stars and top models as style icons – icons that endure to this day. Also featured in the exhibition is a rare, signed fine-art print of Alan Aldridge’s iconic ‘Chelsea Girls’ film poster, designed for Andy Warhol’s underground cult film.
