San Marino range is woven in a traditional basket style of weave using 3mm round Red Pine Rose fibres that have a durability of 10 years. Rose fibres are weather resistant, they are rigorously tested to ensure quality. Furniture frames are made using extruded aluminium tubes with a wall thickness of 1.5mm, this is higher than the industry standard for woven furniture.

Manila is woven in a symmetrical open pattern with elegant octagonal shapes of a consistent size. Made using 7mm flat Rose fibres in Mocca, it has a durability of 10 years plus. Hand crafted by our weavers in the Philippines the Manila range requires skill and attention to detail. Furniture frames are made using extruded aluminium tubes with a wall thickness of 1.5mm.

Ocean range is woven in a unique ‘V’ & open weave pattern using 7mm & 12mm flat triple tone bronze Rose fibres. The degree of weaving difficulty for the Ocean range puts our weavers at the top of their profession. With a durability of 10 years Rose fibres are weather resistant, they are rigorously tested to ensure quality. Furniture frames are made using extruded aluminium tubes with a wall thickness of 1.5mm, this is higher than the industry standard for woven furniture.
Hyacinth range is woven in a traditional style using two different style of Rose fibres. The range draws inspiration from traditional basket weaving where dried water hyacinth plant leaves are used for weaving. Alexander Rose has developed a man-made version of the natural material which increases the durabilily to 10 years. The edges of the furniture are woven using 3mm round Red Pine for a smoother touch and feel.
Chichester range is woven in a traditional style using a three tone 7mm flat Rose fibre in Antique Palm. Rose fibres have a durability of 10 years and are weather resistant, they are rigorously tested to ensure quality. Furniture frames are made using extruded aluminium tubes with a wall thickness of 1.5mm.
Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel is used on our Avant and A-Class range, we use grade 304 tubular sections that are chemically pickled and naturally pasivated for weather protection. The steel contains chromium to provide a passive film of chromium oxide which prevents surface corrosion. Stainless steel has a durability of 10 years, it will require cleaning to maintain the polished appearance of steel.
Textilene速 is tough synthetic fabric made of PVC coated polyester, it has specifically formulated yarns that withstand UV fading, mildew and severe weather conditions. Used for the chair slings in the Avant and A-Class range, it has a material durability of 10 years. Our range of slings are available in Black, White, Silver, and Taupe.
Portofino is a mild steel treated with two layers of powder coating for a smooth and shiny finish. The frames are made using tubular mild steel and the seats are made using a mild steel mesh. The frames are rust protected with a phosphate treatment prior to the powder coating process. Portofino furniture has a durability of 5 years.
HPL Tops
Teak
Roble
High Pressure Lamintes (HPL) are produced by combining thermosetting resin with kraft paper under high temperatures. The result is an extremly tough and weather resistant material, not susceptible to weathering, mould or rot. HPL tops have a pore free surface, pratically ensuring no dirt can accumulate, cleaned easily with household cleaners. They have a durability of 10 years, available in Grey or Taupe.
Teak (Tectona grandis) is the perfect hardwood when it comes to outdoor furniture. It is brown in colour and has a beautifully smooth texture and a striped grain. Its naturally high oil content gives it a formidable resistance to extreme weather conditions making it a very durable timber with a life span of 25 years. Our FSC Teak collection is made using only premium grade FSC timber from Brazil.
Roble (Amburana cearensis) is a hardwood which is light yellow in colour, it has a smooth luster and texture with a closely interlocked grain. Roble has excellent machining and turning qualities, glues, finishes, and polishes well. Its strength is similar to teak. If left untreated Roble will mellow down to a silver grey appearance, our FSC Roble timber comes from Bolivia and has a durability of 25 years plus.

GREEN ISSUES ARE TOP OF OUR AGENDA We take our environmental responsibilities seriously. We source sustainable materials and utilise factories that possess fair and appropriate employee conditions. Wherever possible, the waste generated from our production process is recycled and our products are not over packaged. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
FSC certified timber is vital to Alexander Rose and we comply with the values of FSC, as defined in the “Policy for the association of organisations with FSC”. Therefore Alexander Rose declares not to be directly or indirectly involved in the following activities: • Illegal logging or the trade in illegal wood or forest products. • Violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations. • Destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations. • Significant conservation of forests to plantations or non-forest use. • Introductions of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations. • Violation of any of the ILO core conventions, as defined in the ILO declaration in fundamental principles and rights at work, 1998 We are proud to be a member and associated with the national Made Aware environmental scheme which is run by LOFA, the Leisure and Outdoor Furniture Association. The Made Aware scheme is intended to enable LOFA members to progressively improve the environmental and social impacts of the products they sell by demonstrating how they are making progressive worthwhile improvements in the ‘life story’ of their products. The Leisure and Outdoor Furniture Association has developed the Made Aware scheme because it believes that members should improve where possible, the environmental and ethical impact of their activities. The Tivoli designer collection takes garden furniture to a new level of design sophistication and detailed craftsmanship. Featuring precise angles, joints and an array of horizontal slats, the furniture is made in our own factory from the highest grade FSC Roble from the environmentally managed forests of Bolivia. Roble has similar qualities to Teak. This range of furniture is suitable for many surroundings whether domestic or contract, where strong and beautifully designed garden furniture play centre stage. The new Hyacinth Collection takes its name from the Water Hyacinth and offers the ultimate in style, strength and durability to provide years of comfort and enjoyment. The furniture is beautifully woven in a traditional pattern using twisted Satinwood Rose Fibres onto a powder coated aluminium frame. The table and chairs have a woven edge using a 3mm rich brown coloured weave making the furniture smooth to touch whilst retaining its natural rattan feel. The Hyacinth range is highly suited for conservatories, decks and can additionally be left outside as they are completely weatherproof.

Parasol Information While we all love to soak up the sun, we also know the importance of protecting ourselves from its harmful rays. Our range of high specification garden parasols offer the perfect finishing touch to any dining set. Alexander Rose parasols have eight spokes providing a superior shape and strength, and are available in a choice of hardwood or stainless steel with aluminium spokes.
To clean your parasol we advise that the fabric is kept attached to the frame, use a soft brush or broom and warm soapy water. For more stubborn stains the canopy can be removed and washed at 30ËšC. Once washed it is important to put the canopy back on the frame to dry.

The cantilever parasol appears to float above the furniture set, it can be manually rotated on its own axis to follow the sun. It is freestanding which means you can position chairs under it, rather than around a central pole as with conventional designs. The crank mechanism makes it effortless to use. The UH35 Cantilever Parasol is fully adjustable and tilts to shade the furniture from the sun. To help keep your cushions looking new our storage bags are just the job. Teflon Coated Polyester Cushion Storage Bags Cushion Storage Bags All Alexander Rose cushions are weather resistant, however we strongly recommend storing your cushions in a dry place when they are not required. With our range of cushion bags you will no doubt find one to suit your needs, our small cushion bag is designed for recliner, bench and seat pad cushions. The medium cushion bag is for weave armchairs cushions and lovers recliner cushions, whilst the large is designed to store hut, lantern and sofa cushions. Alexander Rose cushion bags are weather resistant, however they are not 100% waterproof we recommend storing the bags in a dry place during the winter months.

Timber Cleaner | Timber Protector | Timber Sealer | Timber Treatment | Karri Oil | Cornis Oil Timber Furniture Care Alexander Rose manufactures garden furniture which will last for many years. Over time, as part of the natural weathering process, cracks and splits will appear in the wood particularly on the end grain and to a lesser extent on the surface. The drier the wood, the more cracks will appear due to the evaporation of natural oils and minerals in the wood from exposure to the elements. As with most hardwoods, this is a normal characteristic for any timber which remains outdoors. Our timber furniture is designed with this in mind and its strength and durability will remain unaffected. Wooden furniture can be treated with our specially formulated care products to give a beautiful rich finish and enhance the look of the wood. Alternatively it can be left to turn a mellow silver grey, and should be cleaned occasionally with soapy water.

Timber Maintenance Weathering occurs over a period of time, you can expect to see changes in the timber after a few weeks. Timber is a natural material, it absorbs moisture in wet conditions and is likely to expand. In dry conditions the timber dries and may well shrink a very small amount, as the material moves surface cracks will appear in the timber. You can maintain the appearance of your furniture by lightly sanding down the timber and applying one of our formulated care products, see below for results. New

New England Maintenance Alexander Rose New England furniture is produced in a matt white finish, this is the result of two coats of polyurethane paint to the Cornis timber. After time there may be hairline cracks in the finish, this is due to the timber moving. Expansion and contraction of timber is normal and is caused by climatic variation, this becomes noticable around the joints. The New England benches are designed to be used outside, we recommend regular maintenance to retain its original condition, this can be done by sanding the effected area down to the natural timber, a reddish colour, then re-apply evenly a white matt polyurethane paint to the area. Polyurethane paint can be purchased from any DIY or Hardware store, if you are unsure about what paint to use please contact Alexander Rose.

Furniture Treatments & Maintenance Product maintenance is easy, just follow our advice.
Woven Furniture Maintenance | Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish | Powder Coated Mild Steel Maintenance Weave Information Alexander Rose Woven furniture is made from only the highest quality synthetic man-made fibre available, Rose fibres. Rose fibres are UV and fully weather resistant, and also insensitive to differences in temperature. The Rose fibre is produced for Alexander Rose by Viro, and are tested rigorously to ensure they meet with our exacting standards. The structure of all our woven furniture is made from fully welded, powder-coated aluminium frames. The aluminium tubes we use have a wall thickness of 1.5 mm to provide maximum strength and a lightweight frame. Once a frame has been covered in its woven skin the furniture becomes even stronger. The aluminium frames are electrostatically powder coated to prevent them from oxidisation, the finish is invisible once it has been woven over. Our weavers are highly skilled, often 2nd and 3rd generation weavers. They use their traditional experience with natural materials and apply their skills to using the modern manmade wickers.
Weave Maintenance We recommend that woven furniture is cleaned at least once a year, it is important to use a non-foaming cleaner on woven furniture, as a foaming product will leave residues in the gaps in between the weave which will then attract dirt. A pressure hose on a low wide spray setting is acceptable to use on woven chairs at a distance of approximately one metre from the product, tables should be cleaned carefully with a sponge and a cleaner. Follow the instructions below; • Apply lukewarm water with a soft cloth or sponge. • Brush the furniture clean with a soft scrubbing pad. • Rinse furniture well with clean water. Scratch marks or abrasion to the edges of the fibre can be repaired by very briefly and carefully applying heat (i.e. the heat of a hair dryer) to the affected area and rubbing along the length of the fibre with a piece of hard cardboard to restore a smooth edge. To clean the table top glass we suggest the use of any household glass or window cleaner. We recommend cleaning the glass at least once a year.

Stainless Steel Maintenance Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish Alexander Rose Avant and A-Class furniture is made using 304 grade stainless steel, the industry standard for outdoor furniture applications. As with any items left outside stainless steel requires maintenance to keep it looking as new, treatment can be applied yearly or every few months to keep it in top condition. Stainless steel is resistant to corrosion, but in some case the surface of the steel may develop small brown spots. These spots are commonly caused by the effects of salt water and airbourne chemicals, this process is likely to be accelerated in coastal areas. These spots in no way affect the strength and integrity of your furniture, they are simply superficial discolourations that require cleaning with our stainless steel cleaner and polish.
Maintenance Advice When using stainless steel cleaner and polish use protective gloves, cover the ground under your working area before you begin.

• Shake the bottle well before use. • Apply cleaner and polish using the pad provided. • Brush the furniture clean with pad. • Apply cleaner and polish using the cloth provided. Allow to soak for 1 minute. • Buff to shine using a soft, clean and dry cloth.
Mild Steel Maintenance Portofino Information The Portofino range requires minium maintenance, although we recommned cleaning your furniture every year. The range is made using grey powder coated mild steel. The frames begin with a cleaning and phosphate treatment, this provides effective rust protection. Next is a cathodic dip coating where a layer of primer is evenly applied via an electrochemical process, this is the perfect bonding agent for the powder coating treatment. Powder coating the frames result in a smooth finish and provides an effective layer of protective skin, once dry they recieve yet another coating. Giving the frames two layers of treatment ensures it will last outdoors for many years, the Portofino range is smooth to touch, weather resistant and pratically maintenance free.
Maintenance Advice • Only clean using a damp cloth and mild detergent, do not use bleach or abrasive cleaners. • From time to time check that there are no loose screws on the tables, this is to prevent damage occuring to table legs.

Our brass plaque offer a more traditional look for your inscription. Stainless steel plaques provide a more contemporary look with a silver shine, they will not rust. If you are looking for something unique we offer a direct engrave service, your inscription is carved directly into the timber by a computer aided engraving machine. A direct engraving will mellow down along with the bench to a silver grey finish if left untreated, you will find treatment recommendations on page 142.

Furniture Anchors
Anchor your furniture for stability and security. Soft Ground Anchors | Hard Ground Anchors Anchor Information We have designed two types of anchors for different surfaces, the most common being lawns. Using an Alexander Rose soft ground anchor kit avoids the need for concrete, installation is quick and easy without any mess. Our soft ground anchors come with solid brass plates that screw onto the outside legs of a bench, these have sleeves to allow the anchors to pass through and penetrate the surface. When an anchor approaches its maximum depth (500mm) a curved fluke is released to grip the bench further into the surface, adding more security. Our hard ground anchors or bolt down anchors are designed to be used with concrete, they have a maximum depth of 110mm and requires a 20mm masonary drill bit to install them.
