Hank is a Cowdog mix, around 2 years old and weighs 62lbs. He came to us as a stray from Buhl in December, that was never claimed by an owner. The end of January Hank was adopted by a sweet family but unfortunately returned to us the week after.

It was clear that Hank didn’t want to make friends with the cat in the home, he had other ideas. It is always a risk adopting to a home with kitties when we don’t know the dog’s prior history with cats or not able to tests dogs with cats since we are only a dog shelter. If it wasn’t for Hank not liking cats, he wouldn’t have been returned. He bonded very quickly with the wife, he decided that she was his human. Hank wanted to go and be where ever she went. He was also wonderful with the kids of any age, his best friend was a toddler whom he played fetch with and let hand feed him out of his bowl.

Hank is a gentle guy. Another thing we have learned about Hank he needs to be able to touch you during the night, just to see if you are still where you went to bed. So a home that is okay with sharing the bed at night or have a low enough bed where Hank can see you and make sure you didn’t leave him! Hank will make a very lovable and loyal family dog!
