RADLICKร Prague, Czech Republic - 2013 Tender Collaboration with MS Architects Radlickรก is a residential housing project located on Radlickรก Street in Prague. While benefiting from the high slope overviewing the city it suffers from noise die to the trafficked Radlickรก Street. The design needed to propose a solution for both the noise and the requested number of housing units made by the client. By pushing the buildings to the edge of the plot
we were able to form a charming inner terraced semi public garden. The architectural solution extends a sound absorbing balconies that run around the entire building with diagonal formation to differentiate between apartment units. The balconies are protected further more by a glass railing, which extends in relation to the sound source and forms an orchestra of light reflection. The railings design compliments to the lucrative materials used on the faรงades. The concept of green balconies roof is transmitted to the balconies themselves to aid
to the goal of breaking the sound waves with use of plants as well and offers a special quality to all housing units that benefit private greenery on all floors. The housing units are oriented in a manner to avoid facing each other to permit the required privacy in such a prestigious project.

LA CUCINA Rome, Italy - 2014 Comission Collaboration with Studio ICS The project’s guidelines derive from the idea of creating a single space where the architectural design is an integral part of the enogastronomic experience where it is possible to introduce a new model of socializing and tasting of orderves of the Italian kitchen in 360 degrees. The intention is to create a familiar domestic space, which at the same time is astonishing and particular.
The space is composed of three definitive areas. One for appetizers and the wine degustation, the second is the restaurant and the third for the sales of quality products. The entrance is located near the appetizer area enabling the possibility of forming a waiting area for the restaurant. The interior design aspires to the Italian design by use natural materials, and materials commonly used in the spirit of Italian tradition. The color scheme, lighting fixtures and furniture are made to refer to the old Italian kitchen. The architectonic design respects the clarity of the space in the same
clarity and simplicity of the orderves presented in the restaurant. It exhibits the arches, pavement, bricks and pillars. The fundamental element of the space is the glass box. The box is a fully transparent kitchen formed by glass and metal. The glass box is then wrapped by the preparation area, serving directly 50 sitting places around a bar. This formation allows and entirely new experience of direct relation between the chef and the guests. Around the restaurant some medium size tables offer a few traditional sitting places. The illumination is made by the copper
tubes which run over the ceiling of the entire space and converge around the transparent box to illuminate directly above the bar area.

The proposals are now being exhibited in the city’s municipality hall. The jury has given MS Architects a prize for producing a unique and masterful proposal. Their proposed masterplan for a new metropolitan structure
gives the city an entire new face. The public space is the backbone of a new framework that defines a new metropolitan structure. The new metropolitan structure gives priority to the public realm, intensifying it, nourishing it by reclaiming space for it. Extending it to reach the entire city, with a widely spread constellation of public spaces. These are interwoven by a network of recreational routs of pedestrian and cyclist paths. Public space is used as catalyst for a sustainable urban transformation that intensifies public amenities and activities.
The infrastructure restructuring allows the formation of an attractive city. A variety of space of different types and sizes give the city a new and improved look. Focusing on public amenities and encouraging socioeconomic development. They tackle the congestion problem with a very dignified manner, by changing the ring road plan around the city to benefit the entire Plzen agglomeration. In addition they extend and improve the public transportation network incorporating a new light rail line that connects the brownfields to the rest of the city thus
promoting its sustainable development. Multi beneficiary developments are used to lure investors to a publicprivate partnership that guarantees a sustainable and feasible development. The second most problematic condition was a result of the vast mono-functional industrial areas. These caused the city to be fragmented and together with the rail way cut the city in two and more parts. Industrial heritage is used as a driver of transformation, rather than a problem. It is one of a series of catalyst strategic projects that will reconnect the city and form one continues urbanity. 15

It was considered among the top 7 projects just next to well-known urban design studios as MAXWAN from the Netherlands. Their project won the first place by the public at the exhibition in Lauturi, the city hall exhibition ground. The project fits the urban context and its cultural and historical values, creating a new valuable layer to the city. The scheme creates enough pleasant and varying environments by the sea. The whole area would attract users in all seasons. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic routes and areas are considerably
improved. The scheme is spatially coherent and the dimensioning is fitting. The line of transversal buildings by the eastern waterfront is lively, creating exciting views. The terraces and park deck at the foot of west waterfront would form a fantastic place. The waterline promenade creates a nice whole. Many experiences made possible by the scheme would be inspirational. The environment becomes pleasant for pedestrians and cyclists. The room programme is realized with suitable quantity and without mistakes. The proposed masterplan stitches back together the disconnected urban fabrics.
While the western shore works as a breeding ground for sports and extensive activities, the eastern shore is transformed into a lively urban zone, allowing the current and future residents of the city to enjoy the sea and its waterfront. Linking the two shores is the historic market square; an important element is the city’s identity, therefore it is kept intact with only minor circulation improvements. Moreover, new clusters of economic activities are arranged along the waterfront that will generate leisure, culture, recreation and social interaction and consequently new employment in a broad range of sectors. 19

PARK HULVĂ KY Ostrava, Czech Republic - 2013 Comission Collaboration with MS Architects
The city of Ostrava commissioned a Masterplan for a new park. The site is composed by multiple local jurisdictions and required intervention of various types. The project defines and protects an ecological corridor while permitting the urban development as well. Within the site area is located the city’s underground water pumping station. Another important role of the project is to
protect the water from contamination due to excessive uncontrolled development. The proposal offers a set of new functions alongside the existing functions. ŠTVANICE ISLAND Prague, Czech Republic - 2013 International competition Collaboration with MS Architects
Štvanice island is the largest of all islands in the Vlatava river while passing through Prague. Originally there was a set of several islands that due to constant flooding and for the better functionality of the riverboat passage were transformed and made into one. Currently the Island is in big part a park. Other structures also reside with in such as a hydraulic power station, artificial
whitewater course, a tennis stadium with adjacent tennis courts, BMX course and a seasonal ice-skating ring. Even thought the island has already many functions it suffers from underuse. It is mostly no man’s land, with occasional overcrowding on special events as a tennis tournament. The proposal offers a proper connection of the island to it’s surrounding and adds a new tram station right in the center of it easy accessibility. It also defines a secondary road and bridge to form a circulation system rather then a dead end. a Parking garage is formed in the
permitted area, it is used to elevate the public space to the flood protected level and forms a flooding safety mechanism that would store water and aid in controlling the flood. A new function is added to the island a new concert hall that sits perfectly and monumentally on the island overlooking the Prague’s castle. In aid of the touristic attraction a funicular connects the high ground of Letna Park with the island thus completing the circle of the pedestrian and tourist path, luring more people towards the island. The Tennis stadium is refurbished and made into a more attractive
structure with a set of new facilities. Apart of the these main iconic structures a set of new functions are proposed, the site is too expensive to allow affordable housing, therefore a more daily use is found for the site. Educational and cultural activities along side with office and retail are placed in relation of the tram stop and form a new corridor in the middle of the island. The island becomes a vibrant place full of life in its developed area. This area is contained to one third of the island, while two third of it are still kept for greenery and recreation, with pedestrian and cycle paths. 31
