TURN AROUND
Turnaround I was a flight attendant, flying around the world for 32 years. I was very professional in inflight safety and emergency procedures and also delivering good service to my passengers. The whole world turned around when a former professional flight attendant decided to be an Interior and product design student. When I started this course, I had no idea of how to design a product but at the end of the day I learned a lot from my lecturers, especially the design thinking process which is the fundamental for all designers. Moreover I think I did make a good decision, this is a perfect turnaround for me as life is about taking changes, trying new things, having fun, making mistakes and learning from it.

LIFT AND ROLL
Lift and Roll workplace is designed for user who is a designer. Design concept is for multifunction usage, as a working desk, stationery storage with note pad board and small cabinet with drawers for printer and storage. Both workspace and cabinet are equipped with wheels as user loves to move this workplace around her residence.

SABAAI CHAIRs
SaBaai in Thai means cozy and relaxed. The major design concept is to make a wooden chair that user feels comfortable whenever seated. The main characteristics of SaBaai Chair are leaning back legs, right angle and curved backrest, proper inclined seat and armrest. It is made of handcrafted solid wood with clear colour lacquer coating.

COMBI
Combi is a well-designed teak partition with combination functions as it is a partition on one side, shelf and storage on the other side. This partition is made of teak wood with clear colour lacquer coating and stainless steel legs.

CIDI Atelier design concept is focused on CIDI of display of new designer'sportfolio. CIDI design institute aim that the graduates would set up their own brand.To serve the client's essential purpose, the wave designed in the storefront is used as the symbol of CIDI that the institute committed to delivercapable, skilled and creative designer like gazing new wave come into the design world.The store is designed to be utilized into 2 major functions, the showcase and the atlier.The showcase,customers will experience and enjoy the new designed products once entering the store.Walking through the smallwall partition will lead to the atelier which is adjacent to the showcase.The three main material used for interior of the store are wood, concrete and steel. Color scheme is base on natural color of material just to give priority to the colors of products at the showcase and store front.

CIDI ATELIER Site Analysis
FYI…For Your Inspiration Center is located on the corner of Rama IV and Ratchadapisek Road. Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre and Stock Exchange of Thailand are in the walking distance of 200 metres. Klong Toey market, big local market is on the opposite side of FYI Centre on Rama V Road. It is convenient to reach by all kinds of transportation. By MRT, Queen Sirikit Convention Centre Station is 200 metres from the building, by bus from Rama IV and Ratchadapisek Road. With two main roads by car, there are 746 parking spaces and it is easy to drive to and from express way entrance and exit on Rama IV. Parking for bike is also available.

CIDI…Chanapatana International Design Institute is the international design school founded in 2000 by the Venerable Phra Thepjetiyjan in co-operation with the leading design school in Florence, Italy. CIDI offers 2 Italian curriculum diploma courses of Fashion Design and Interior and Product Design. The 2 years course perfectly include both theory and practical curriculum. The skilled and experienced lecturers from Italy, Spain, Germany and USA are selected to conduct classes for students at CIDI. For years students who graduated from CIDI are successful in both fashion business, interior design and create their own brand of furniture and products for local and international markets.
Statement of Intent
The main characteristic of CIDI represents education in the field of fashion design, interior and product design. It is a great opportunity to develop this particular space of 210 sq.m. at FYI Centre. Two concepts are schemed as CIDI showcase and knowledge centre which can be targeted into 2 groups of customers. The Showcase, this space is designed to exhibit CIDI students’ portfolio and it is also a well-planned space as an outlet for students to show and trade their products such as clothes, furniture and accessories. The main target customers are people who work in this building and also hotel’s guests. The Atelier, this space is designed to use for all kinds of workshop which organize by CIDI for invited artists and designers. To add up value to this space, CIDI can rent out the workshop space to freelance artists and designers who seek for a place to facilitate their creativity class. The monthly schedule of workshop will be launched to public through CIDI website and FB page. The main target is to facilitate CIDI creativity workshop and short courses. Moreover if the space is vacant during the day, it is a great venue for students to meet and plan school assignments and project discussion. Eye-catcher, this space for students' products are located along the window display. CIDI committee will select outstanding students' products to exhibit and sell in this store. The new collection of product will be rotated every three months. Showcase, the main display area for CIDI students' products. Once entering the store, the customers will be impressed by selected products display in the showcase area. Smart Bar, the main function is to designed as information center for CIDI diploma courses, short courses, art and craft workshop, student's product and to serve as cash register.

THE DESERT
The Desert concept is designed for CIDI students’exhibition. With Emptiness theme, we choose and focused on desert as it is empty vast space with long horizontal line and endless distance and we find that there are beauty of oasis and sand dunes in desert. The Bedouin Camp will be the symbol of the desert. Students profile, models and product prototypes will displayed in the camp.

THE SLING SHOT
This task lamp is designed in a form of fork with two major functions, adjustable light intensity and light arm rotation 360 degrees. The LED light intensity is adjustable to low, medium and high by switch at the base. The LED light arm can be adjusted from low to high level with 360 degrees rotation to serve the user.The base of this lamp is made of wood, crafted in curved shape, join the base with stainless steel fork shape then connect the top part with LED light stick.

In order to emphasize good health for designers, the space is designed to focus on clean and hygienic air-conditioning system, introducing nontoxic and natural material such as nontoxic paint, natural colour dyed material for rattan and wood furniture, providing snooze area to reduce stress and fatigue during work. The green area is a perfect place to stretch during work or to exercise after work and also to relaxing their eyes while working on bright computer screen. Considering well-being in the workplace, the second floor is programmed to be functioned as fresh up area, dedicated to set up spa, yoga and meditation space, game room and neutral space in the centre of the floor which will be function as common area for all users.

The main purpose of happy concept is to create delight and enjoy space for designers as they might have stress when spending long working hours. To enhance productivity for designers in D Studio, appropriate designed natural and artificial lighting the workplace as well as light earth tone colours are essential. In addition the fresh up space on the second floor and the recreation area will be a good spot for users to take time off from computer screen and enjoy their short break. The perfect points mentioned are the main purpose of this selected site for D Studio, the designed workplace that enhance wellbeing of designers.

According to the research topic “Towards Wellbeing in the Workplace: A Study of Interior Design” which is used as a reference for D Studio and this projects is focused on 2 H as Healthy and Happy. The concept is to integrate Happy and Healthy in major spaces as work space, fresh up space and meeting space. The work space is planned to occupy area on the first floor, all office furniture in this area will be focused on comfort, functional and proper designed for users. It is located next to windows as to get advantage from natural light and the designers can relax through big green screen which are big trees.

SITE ANALYSIS D Studio is a wellbeing work place for designers. The site is situated at Chanapatana Internaional Design Institute (CIDI). The studio is part of CIDI complex, the building is 4 stories and the 112 sq.m. space on the first floor will be designed as workplace for 5 designers and 112 sq.m. for fresh up space on the second floor. The main purposes to choose this site as it is in a good location for both users and visitors, easy to commute by all public transportations, by BTS and bus and t is convenient to access by car as well. Around this area, there are shopping centres, leading department stores, street food stores, cafes and many local and international restaurants. CIDI is a good site for D Studio as it surrounded by international designers who work as a lecturer, peaceful place for workplace as it is not too crowded, the building is well maintenance, good natural air flow circulation around the complex. Many big trees at CIDI are part of green area of workplace for D Studio.

It is essential for designers to have a workplace for meeting to discuss their work, share their opinions and brainstorming design concept for clients’ new products. Eventually this well-being workplace project will be focused on 2 major design concepts as healthy blend in happy workplace for designers.
