ST. AUGUSTINE
Historically Attractive
St. Augustine is the heart of Florida's First Coast region and was originally founded by Spanish explorers in 1565. Few American cities have done a better job preserving its historic sites, including Castillo de San Marcos and Mission Nombre de Dios. Downtown St. Augustine features the Bayfront Walk promenade and art galleries, antique shops, and sidewalk cafes along St. George and Aviles streets. Nearby attractions include the oceanfront Anastasia State Park and the World Golf Hall of Fame. Flagler Hospital is the area's top medical-services provider.
Daytona Beach has been an iconic vacation destination for more than 70 years, with 23 miles of oceanfront and seaside attractions that include arcades along the Boardwalk and open-air concerts at the Bandshell. Best known for its Daytona International Speedway and the annual Daytona 500 race, the 30-mile drive on the Ormond Scenic Loop is a relaxing way to tour the area. The Brown Museum of Art and the Smithsonian's Museum of Arts and Sciences are leading cultural attractions, while Halifax Health runs the region's largest hospital and medical-provider network.
WEST PALM BEACH Life of Luxury
Located north of Miami and across the intracoastal waterway from 20+ miles of Atlantic oceanfront, West Palm Beach has long been a preferred destination for snowbirds and retirees who appreciate its traditional upscale Florida ambiance. Antique Row shops, Northwoods Village galleries, Clematis Street restaurants, and Rosemary Square music venues are popular local destinations. The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts features a year-round schedule of music concerts and theatrical productions. All are well served by facilities in the area's unique Health Care District, including the Lakeside Medical Center and top-rated specialty clinics.
