CHATTANOOGA Poised for the Future

Set along the banks of the Tennessee River in the state's southeastern corner, Chattanooga is a vibrant city of traditional culture and business innovation. The historic downtown area features symphony and opera performances at the Tivoli Theatre, tours of the Hunter Museum of American Art, and family fun at the Tennessee Aquarium. The high-tech business sector has grown rapidly in recent years, due in part to the city's Electric Power Board's region-wide 10-gigabyte internet system with free hot spots. Those connections are also used by Chattanooga's Parkridge and Memorial hospital systems to facilitate top-rated medical care. The entire area is a recreational wonderland with streams to kayak, lakes to fish, and mountains to climb. Chattanooga offers two other unique leisure destinations: the 16-mile Tennessee Riverwalk, an unrivaled urban path for walking and biking, and Lookout Mountain, which offers its own collection of hiking trails, plus panoramic views to inspire and deep caves to explore.
