Students are able to engage in thought provoking projects, brainstorm solutions and build their critical-thinking skills. 08

PROJECT BASED LEARNING So much of what we work on and accomplish in our adult lives, whether personal or professional, is rooted in the idea of projects! Almost everything we tackle could be considered a project: preparing presentations, organizing events, launching products, etc. If we are to prepare the leaders of the future for success in this project-based world, we must focus on project-based learning! IDEA Lab curriculum integrates the following important ideas from the Project-Based Learning model: Focuses the student on a big open-ended question, challenge, or problem to research and respond to and/or solve. Brings what students should academically know, understand, and be able to do into the equation. Uses 21st century skill such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, among others. Builds student choice into the process. Provide opportunities for feedback and revision of the plan and the project. Requires students to present their problems, research process, methods, and results.

COOKING @THE LAB

Idea Lab Culinary Art Series is designed to teach age-appropriate cooking techniques and hands-on learning in the kitchen. Our classes and camps range from Cooking around the World, where students create handmade Roti from India and hand-rolled Sushi from Japan.

{Coding + Programming} < Idea Lab Kids campers will be immersed into a world of technology through exploring code and programming. Each student will dive into fun challenges throughout the course by writing code, tapping into the world of augmented reality and developing real-world programming skills. />

I experience the lab dea Lab Kids' proprietary research-based curriculum helps kids learn about the principle of designing and creating 3D objects. Kids watch their designs come to life right in front of their eyes on the 3D printers. 3D-printing fosters imagination and teaches principles of Engineering and Design while developing critical-thinking skills. At Idea Lab Kids, we take technology to new levels by truly integrating 3D-printing within other subject matters from Cooking to Engineering and everything in between. You can find Idea Lab students creating custom-designed 3D-printed molds for baking in the Cooking classes or 3D-printing various shapes of propellers to test out aerodynamic principles in the Drone classes.

VISUAL ARTS Student explore the world around them through different mediums including printmaking, painting, and other mixed media arts.

Students recreate their own versions of popular toys, past and present. Using limited supplies, students will compete in challenges. Learn what it takes to program devices and bend their computing power to our own ideas.

Want to build your own robot? Students will experience simple circuitry with Arduino and other microcontrollers. Teach your robot what to do if it encounters an obstacle or respond to other variables so that it can operate autonomously. 30
