IDEAL FOUNDATION GIVING BACK TO NZ COMMUNITIES

MISSION CLEANUP WITH IDF AND SUSTAINABLE COASTLINES

The Ideal Foundation is proud to be associated with Sustainable Coastline in their beach clean-up programme. One of the Ideal Foundation’s missions is to Protect The Natural Environment. Beach cleanups are central to Sustainable Coastlines. They clean up beaches and deliver education to change the behaviour that produces litter in the first place via Love Your Coast Programme.

Plastic pollution impacts our environment, the health of our wildlife, and human health. Simple act of picking up litter from the beach helps in creating awareness, which prevents new litter from entering our precious marine environments.

IDF NEWSLETTER ISSUE MARCH 2023 LOOKING AFTER THE NZ COMMUNITY DISCOVER SUSTAINABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS PROTECT THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT PURSUE SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE ACTIVITIES

Ideal Electricals’ staff and our valued Foundation supporters were glad to be a part of this environment friendly event on Wednesday 8th March 2023.

We all gathered at the Sustainable Coastlines Flagship at Silo Park. It was a pleasure meeting everyone from different branches and our IDF supply partners. The Sustainable Coastlines staff arranged a lunch for us followed by the informative presentation.

Afterwards we were off to Te Atatu Peninsula – Harbour View Beach. We were given safety gear and off on mission cleanup we went!

In total, we collected 540L of litter weighing 91KG – It consisted of Glass & Ceramic 248 items & Plastic 92 items (57% of Plastic). This dataset was collected by Citizen Scientists at an official ‘Survey Area’ as part of the Litter Intelligence long-term litter monitoring programme. There was a steep drop in litter density compared to the last survey done which is awesome.

At the end of the day, we were all proud to be part of this great cause. With education, awareness, and solutions that we can take back to our everyday life that help us become more sustainable tomorrow than we are today. Such events help in team building and working together. Ideal Foundation is always excited to be a part of such programmes. Big thanks again to our IDF suppliers Bizline, Thorn, Simx, Milwaukee, Marley, Philips, CDY, Legrand, who supported us and mucked in on the day!

NEW ZEALAND DISASTER FUND

IDF CONTRIBUTE $50,000 TO RED CROSS DISASTER RELIEF DONATION

On behalf of the Ideal Foundation, I am pleased to advise a donation of $50,000 has been given to aid the Red Cross NZ disaster relief.

One of the Ideal Foundation’s missions is to look after New Zealand communities. Given this crucial time, it’s important to recover the lives of vulnerable communities by mobilising the power of humanity and enhancing resilience. Ideal Foundation was delighted to donate $50,000 in support of the Red Cross New Zealand disaster fund.

This funding will help Red Cross continue to be there for those impacted by the deadly Cyclone Gabrielle across Aotearoa New Zealand and be prepared to give life-changing assistance to those impacted by the next emergency we may face.

Red Cross aims to provide essential supplies, crucial psychosocial support, and practical help to those who have been forced to leave their homes.

We have full faith in the Red Cross NZ to ensure this donation is distributed to those most in need.

Together we support one another,

IDF DONATE $3,000 TO EVOLOCITY

EVolocity CEO Sarah Fitzgerald says, “EVolocity is more than a STEM Programme, we are developing future generations of engineers, technicians, technology innovators and entrepreneurs. Together with our partners and sponsors we are investing in our young people and in our country’s future.”

EVolocity grows young people’s interest in science, technology and engineering and to show them that there are actions they can take and decisions they can make that will have a positive impact on climate change and our environment. EVolocity helps create possible future career opportunities for youth. Our young participants are full of imagination & innovation, they literally ‘drive’ their team built electric vehicles in our competition/programme.

EVolocity are unique in terms of engaging interest in industrial design, mechanical & electrical engineering, electronics & computer programming. The participants compete their vehicles in Regional finals and then a National finals later in the year.
