The Ideal Foundation is a registered charitable trust committed to supporting sustainable energy solutions, protecting the natural environment, and pursuing socially responsible NZ community initiatives.

Selected products supported by key supply partners enable a collaborative approach to giving a positive impact on NZ communities, charities and environmental solutions.

The Ideal Foundation aims to discover new sustainable energy solutions, and is committed to promoting products which will aid in keeping New Zealand ‘clean and green’.

It is extremely important to the Foundation that the voice of the Ideal Electrical team is heard. Annually we ask for suggestions of deserving charities and organisations.

Although we’d love to support all the sta ’s suggested charities and organisations, the following five were the most favoured suggestions successful of a contribution of $2,000 each from Ideal Foundation:

St Johns NZ, SPCA, Autism NZ, Bowel Cancer and Heart Kids NZ.

KING DOWNLIGHT

Kiwi icon Mike King has identified the problem and instigated the I Am Hope Youth Ambassador Program. This nationwide program hopes to put ambassadors in schools to act as a trusted pathway to professional help.

The Ideal Foundation, supported by Philips Lighting, is behind Mike and his focus on Kiwi kids. Proceeds from this fitting go to the Ideal Foundation, which supports Mike and his vision of youth ambassadors.

“Whether we like it or not, our children are aware their mates are having problems, some of which are very serious. Currently, 80% of kids in crisis don’t ask for professional help. This is an Ideal opportunity for you to shine a light on a dark place for our kids”

BIG BROTHER BIG SISTER (BBBS) CHILD MENTOR PROGRAMS

Ideal Foundation was pleased to donate $5,000 to support BBBS in making a di erence to children living in hardship.

SOUTHLAND

CHARITABLE HOSPITAL

Once Southland Charity Hospital is completed, it will provide free services to those in the southern half of New Zealand who are unable to access care through the public or private health systems.

The Ideal Foundation was pleased to donate $5,000 in support of this community project.

REEFTON POWERHOUSE REGENERATION PROJECT

The Ideal Foundation donated $15,000 towards the project by providing electrical products through Ideal Electrical.

IDEAL FOUNDATION DONATES TO ‘I AM HOPE’ CHARITABLE TRUST

The Ideal Electrical Supplier team was privileged to have a sta well-being talk by Mike King founder of ‘I am Hope’ recently. We believe mental health, our attitudes, thoughts, choices, and awareness of others is a key priority.

One of the Ideal Foundations’ annual objectives is to support Mike King’s I AM Hope Trust which supports the mental well-being for the youth of New Zealand.

Ideal Foundation along with our supply partners had the privilege of donating $80,000 to date in support of I AM HOPE and the KEY TO LIFE charitable trust. Many thanks to the Ideal Foundation supply partners that share the same vision: Philips (Signify), Bizline, Simx, Computer Dynamics, Legrand, Milwaukee, Hager, Thorn, Marley.

The Ideal Foundation is all about supporting sustainability and community projects especially with a focus on education.

The Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) is a large tertiary campus located in Hawkes Bay. It o ers an extensive range of programmes with more than 160 postgraduates, degree, diploma and certificate levels across a wide range of subjects.

EIT provides a free community based Learning in Nature (LIN) program delivered by EIT facilitators to teachers throughout Hawkes Bay. The participant teachers then take their learnings about teaching the national curriculum outdoors, and use the ‘LIN’ principles in their own ECE centres, Primary schools and High schools, benefitting large numbers of Hawkes Bay students.

The Ōtātara Outdoor Learning Centre (OOLC) is centred at the back of the campus with a large area focussed on sustainability which is available to community groups upon application. OOLC includes a log cabin & covered Canopy used as a base for environmental and sustainable studies. It’s set amongst a native gully with a focus on regeneration and plantings. It’s desirable location is the perfect space to educate and support local community initiatives.

The Ideal Foundation is proud to be associated with and jumped at the chance to install a small solar system on the log cabin to support education of students and the vision to provide a sustainable solution to energy.

IDEAL FOUNDATION HELPS PROVIDE SOLAR POWER TO ŌTĀTARA OUTDOOR LEARNING & COMMUNITY CENTRE AT EIT HAWKES BAY

IDEAL FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH SUSTAINABLE COASTLINES

Sustainable Coastlines is a grassroots New Zealand charity with a vision for restored mauri, or lifeforce, for our moana. They support communities around Aotearoa to prevent litter and restore waterways. They do this through large-scale clean-up events, educational programmes, public awareness campaigns, catchment-based freshwater restoration and citizen science environmental monitoring. In short, they exist to connect people with nature and inspire change.

To achieve their vision of beautiful beaches, healthy waters and inspired people, they have three core programmes that directly involve communities in positive outcomes for the coastlines and waterways we all love: Love Your Coast, Love Your Water and Litter Intelligence

TREE PLANTING - Sustainable Coastlines plants native trees to support communities restore freshwater ecosystems. This is critical work, as 94% of rivers in urban areas and 82% of rivers in pastoral farming areas in Aotearoa are not suitable for swimming in.

COASTAL CLEAN UP - In addition to tree planting, this award winning charity also supports communities to clean-up and prevent litter via their programmes Love Your Coast and Litter Intelligence. Litter is a major risk to New Zealand’s people, culture, environment and economy, especially when it enters the marine environment.

Sustainable Coastlines measure all their impacts. Because of the collaborative nature of Sustainable Coastlines who work with community groups, schools and businesses — the figures above are not Sustainable Coastline’s alone but instead show the combined results of our e orts. ‘Delivered’ impacts are from activities led by our team, while ‘Enabled’ impacts are from activities led by people or groups that we provided with significant support.

UPCOMING EVENTS - There are a range of calendered Sustainable Coastline events Ideal Foundation would like to support in the interest of sustainability, taking care of our environment and bonus - Team building!

Team Ideal and it’s families are looking forward to being actively involved in some of the planned Sustainable Coastlines events. Either a beach cleanup or tree-planting day which will not only be good for nature, but good for our own well being. Getting out into nature connects us with the issues that Aotearoa is facing around plastic in the environment and pollution in our waterways. With education, awareness and solutions that we can take back to our everyday life to help us be more sustainable tomorrow than we are today.
