Another item to check of your summer checklist. Tagging all your kid’s toys and swim gear before heading off to your local community pool.

This past holiday weekend kicked off the official opening of our community pool. It came about so quickly that I forgot to even register our family for the swimming season. The weather was hot, perfect for taking a swim to cool heat wave that had taken over the east coast. So I hauled everyone into the car, packed the toys, and prepared some snacks to take over. Daddy went right to the pool’s registration office while I took the girls into the club and waited for him to finish. After we were admitted, the girls didn’t waste no time and jumped right into the pool. As the girls were busy acclimating themselves back into swimming I was busy setting up our towels, backpacks, food, and gear into the nearest available space. I noticed that it had slipped my mind to label the girls toys and goggles before I left, a simple task that I was annoyed at myself for forgetting. With so many kids toys, watering cans, goggles, and floats looking exactly alike it’s hard to differentiate which item belongs to whom if your things are not labeled. I can’t tell you how many things I have lost or misplaced in someone else bag before I started to label my things. Just the simple task of marking your items can save you a lot of money and the hassle of finding them among the sea of look-a-likes. So when we returned home after spending an exhaustive day with the kids swimming, and running around the playground I took out my very own I.D. Me Name Labels and slapped one on all their belonging from toys, sunscreen, towels, shoes, backpacks, and hats. Learning from past experience, a small investment in personalized name labels can save families money in the long run and help prevent lost and theft.
