PUBLISHER'S LETTER

there's no place like home They say there’s no place like home, but if we’re being honest, I think we can all say it’s been a love/hate relationship with our homes the past year. What once felt like a safe haven to come home to after a long day’s work, a shelter from the cold, a place to cozy up with family, has now become a little too familiar to us all. When it came time to plan this year’s Home & Garden issue, we really wanted to focus on ways to increase the functionality of a home. We took time this issue to really focus on actionable tips and inspiring stories to help you continue to elevate your home and rebuild that lost love. 2020 was the year of change and one of the biggest shakeups was the shift in the workplace. We traded our high heels and suits for leggings and slippers; we gained new coworkers in the forms of pets and children; and we went on the hunt to find a suitable Zoom background within our homes. While some of us may have had a designated home office, many of us found ourselves making do with the kitchen table, or even slipping away to a closet to find some peace and quiet for virtual meetings. One result of 2020? An uptick in home office renovations and additions. Turn to page 30 for some inspiration from four of the region’s top interior designers.

SAMANTHA QUISGARD

It wouldn’t be our Home & Garden issue without our annual collection of Pantone Color of the Year home decor, and this year we’ve even got two colors—yellow and grey! Turn to page 12 for some local favorites. As the weather begins to warm, consider sprucing up your outside space as a secondary living area. This month’s 5 Things article focuses on chic ways to upgrade your patio. Nothing pairs better with a warm day on a patio than a nice cold glass of beer. Grab your to-go crowlers from Lancaster’s newest beer destination, Our Town Brewery, spotlighted on page 22. Until that weather does warm up for us, why not stay inside and learn to make some bread? Turn to page 25 for artisan bread recipes from Tradition Bakery’s Yelena Korablin. Already mastered bread baking? Try bringing some artistry to the mix with scouring techniques like Korablin’s. Remember, though we may be stuck inside a little more than we’d like, there truly is no place like home.

Bohemian Beauty at Beautiful Home, Agapē Cafe & Grille BY KAREN HENDRICKS PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMANDA KRAFT

The vibe inside Strasburg’s Beautiful Home Interiors is one-of-a-kind; which makes sense, when you hear owner Ruthie Stoltzfus describe her vision for the shop using words like “unique” and “Bohemian.” “I describe it as modern Bohemian,” says Ruthie. “I love picking out unique things that nobody else is selling in Lancaster County.” From kitchen charcuterie to handmade cards, jewelry to home décor, handcrafted items by local makers to those created by undiscovered artisans in far-flung spots like Utah, Beautiful Home is just that. “The latest thing I’ve loved finding is unique floral stems that look real, like they just came out of a forest. I just love a natural, organic look,” Ruthie says. For

those with a green thumb, Beautiful Home has recently expanded their offerings to include live plants. Her eye for design is a talent that comes naturally—she describes it as something she’s “passionate about.” “I also love having fun little gifts for brides and grooms, sisters, grandparents—unique gifts for special people,” she says. Doors to the home interior and gift shop opened in October—like many of our plans in 2020—months behind original projections, due to the pandemic. “Opening the business was a step of faith, before it became a mountain of faith, [amid COVID-19],” Ruthie describes. “All of it has been quite the journey.” The business is owned by Ruthie, 36, and husband JR, 43, married for 16 years. The close-knit family includes four children—twin 13-year old boys, along with 9- and 5-year old daughters. But Beautiful Home isn’t the only venture for this beautiful family. Next door, you’ll find their Agapē Cafe & Grille. Both businesses are modeled off their first two businesses, which they continue to own and operate— Beautiful Home Furniture & Design and Dutch Family Restaurant located in Germantown, Maryland’s Lancaster County Dutch Market. Ruthie, at the age of 16, began working at the Dutch Family Restaurant, which she and JR purchased in 2005. But as their family grew, it became more important for the couple to open businesses in their native Strasburg area. A big mural inside the café explains the meaning of “Agape.” “It’s the highest form of love—it’s about serving,” says Ruthie. “It’s about showing people kindness and love, no matter what walk of life you come from.” Just like the Bohemian vibe next door, Agape’s menu includes a colorful, creative blend of coffeeshop staples, mixed with café classics. “Most cafés and coffeeshops have a limited menu. We wanted a more extensive menu, but with that coffeeshop feel,” JR explains.

LIFESTYLE Breakfast platters include the creative breakfast bread bowl filled with creamed beef or sausage gravy, topped with cheddar cheese, with the option of adding an egg. You’ll also find “Golden Malted Waffles,” a wide variety of sandwiches and burgers, salads and homemade soups. Agape’s boards, smoked meat and seafood platters are unique combinations, where JR's talents for smoked meats truly shine. “I’m self-taught, pretty much,” he says. “I’ve been researching, cooking for the family, and smoking for probably 12to-15 years. After you do it for a while, you get a feel for what goes with a cut of meat.” His brisket, along with smoked and seasoned pork belly “burnt ends” are some of his best sellers—“because they’re unusual, sweet and savory,” says JR. The “sweet and spicy burger” is another best-seller—it combines caramelized bacon, sharp cheese, and spring mix atop a burger on a brioche bun, but the “kicker,” Ruthie says, is the made-inhouse tomato jam. The boards menu includes beautifullyarranged charcuterie, smokehouse, and snack boards in small, medium, and large displays. “It’s a lot of fun to put boards together,” Ruthie says. “And they can be a full meal for someone coming in to work

These combine frozen and fresh fruit puree such as mango or raspberry with mint or rosemary-infused simple syrups. Just like the Stoltzfus’s marriage, Beautifu Home and Agapē Cafe & Grille feel like the perfect pairing. “The reasoning behind the two business together is that it’s fun to have people enjoy both,” says Ruthie. “People can enjoy shopping for a gift, then grabbing a coffee and macaron too.”

LIVE WELL

LIFESTYLE

how sleep builds us up BY RACHEL CURRY

A weighted blanket. A white noise machine. Ear plugs and a body pillow, too. That's how I sleep, and it's the only way I have a chance at a good night's rest. I'm not alone. According to the CDC, upwards of 70 million U.S. adults have a sleep disorder, which ranges from CPAP users and insomniacs to drowsy drivers and melatonin users. As daylight savings time creeps us on us, the issues become even more obvious. Deep, quality sleep can be hard to come by, but if you get it right, you'll realize just how much it benefits your day.

BETTER SLEEP MEANS A REDUCED RISK OF DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, AND OTHER MENTAL ILLNESSES. "A weakened mental awareness and sluggish cognitive ability will make for a fertile condition for depression." That's what Dr. John Weigel, MS, CAADC, licensed psychologist at Weigel Counseling in Lititz says. Higher quality sleep means a reduced risk of Major Depressive Disorder (Dr. Weigel says up to 90% of patients with depression have comorbid insomnia) as well as mental illnesses like anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and social phobias.

IT ALSO MEANS IMPROVED EFFICIENCY. Our natural sleep cycles fight against alarm clocks every day. That's what snooze buttons are for—but Dr. Weigel says a body clock works a lot better than a time clock. "As a society, we ignore the facts about sleep and force ourselves to push ahead," he says. Dr. Weigel says studies show high school students performed better with a later start to the school day. Adolescents ages 13–21 tend to experience changes in their circadian rhythm that favor later hours. For adults, it might feel more natural to wake up early. As long as you're getting adequate sleep, you could see better job performance. After all, the Sleep Foundation tells us that more than a quarter of workers report sleepiness as a common workday interference.

20

SUSQUEHANNA STYLE | MARCH 2021

MORE SLEEP CAN LEAD TO A REDUCED RISK OF CANCER. "Good sleep can even reduce our risk for cancer," says Dr. Weigel— thanks to natural melatonin. Your brain produces melatonin when you sleep, and melatonin is an antioxidant and antiinflammatory hormone. This protects your cells from damage that could otherwise become cancerous.

SLEEP CAN ALSO REDUCE THE RISK OF OTHER TYPES OF CHRONIC DISEASE. "Consider groups that have notoriously poor sleep hygiene," says Dr. Andrew Neville, ND, chronic fatigue expert at Clymer Healing Center in Quakertown. Third-shift workers, health care workers, police, and firefighters often suffer from sleep deprivation or consistency. This leads to an increased risk of chronic conditions like heart disease and diabetes. Extending sleep can help the body produce more insulin and keep blood pressure levels in the normal range.

ENJOY LESS STRESS AND POSITIVE EMOTIONAL CONSEQUENCES. Overeating, alcoholism, and sedentary lifestyles are just some examples of how people might act out their emotions. "When stressed, we tend to drift towards high risk, high danger quick fixes for comfort and relief," says Dr. Weigel. Sleep and stress have a reverse correlation (meaning more sleep produces less stress and vice versa). With good sleep, you can muster the strength necessary to cope with life, all while keeping your own best interest in mind.

YOUR CHRONIC PAIN MAY DIMINISH. Dr. Neville has observed what happens as the biological mechanisms of sleep heal in individuals. In addition to waking up feeling more refreshed with improved moods, he says, "Patients report waking without chronic pain." For example, studies suggest that when a group of volunteers becomes deprived of sleep for two weeks, fibromyalgialike symptoms begin to emerge.

NOT ALL SLEEP IS CREATED EQUAL. Short naps up to 20 minutes long during the day are helpful, but anything longer can interrupt your sleep drive at night. Plus, sleep consistency is just as important as the amount of sleep you get, so setting a fairly regular bedtime (with blue-light devices turned off at a certain hour) can go a long way.

Our Town Brewery Finds a Home Downtown BY ERIKA FIRESTONE PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMANDA KRAFT

22

SUSQUEHANNA STYLE | MARCH 2021

The corner of Prince and Walnut Street has a bright and bold new look that illuminates the scenery heading into the heart of Lancaster City. Our Town Brewery now occupies the nearly 100-year-old historical space that originally housed Chamber’s General Tire Company. The craft brewery’s name is proudly displayed in stark black print on the all-white facade, serving as a sort of unofficial downtown welcome to visitors and residents alike. Our Town Brewery co-founders, Rob Tarves and Rob Patz, otherwise known as “The Robs,” first got into brewing while attending Penn State University. Tarves’ brother gifted him a home-brewing kit and, a decade later, they’re pouring delicious and affordable pints for the public Wednesday through Sunday each week. “The name Our Town really stems from our interest in celebrating and creating community, something we both experienced while living in State College, a town with a lot of local pride,” Patz explains. He further describes how their name keeps them focused on this mission, which weaves its way seamlessly throughout their operations, such as locally sourcing their ingredients. Tarves has called Lancaster home for the last ten years. Due to the city’s welcoming nature, especially in regards to the food and beverage scene, they knew it would be the perfect place for their community centered business. Despite officially opening their doors in the midst of COVID-19 restrictions this past September, they swiftly became the talk of the town, meeting their capacity each day. Patz describes their opening this past fall as an exciting time, “We would often have a wait, and in the nicer months people were just happy to spend that time outside, going for a walk around the city until we got them seated and poured them a pint.” During the time “the Robs” spent working at Otto’s Pub & Brewery near State College, they witnessed the loyalty and community of the brewery’s regulars. “This is one of the reasons we got into brewing and what led to the Townie Club,” says Tavres. The Townie Club is an on-brand spin on the standard brewery mug club. For a one-time fee of $250 you can become a Townie for life, providing regular discounts, a free birthday meal, and invites to “Townie Only” events to help cultivate that feeling of community amongst regulars. The interior design of Our Town Brewery is just as inviting as the staff. It is bright and clean with a blue and silver palette that adds just enough color. The facade of the building and its hallways are lined with historical photographs that act as an ode to what once stood in its place, while the high ceilings and exposed brew-tanks give it a modern industrial feel. The beer is certainly the main attraction that Tarves and Patz intended it to be, with a diverse selection from IPA’s to sours and stouts. Tarves MARCH 2021 | SUSQUEHANNA STYLE

explains, “We continue to monitor what’s trending, but we never want to get boxed in. We get creative while also honoring the long history and tradition of brewing good beer, which is why we will always keep something like our Proper Pils on tap.” One of their most popular beers, “Nice Bright Colors” is a deliciously crisp New England IPA, while “I Wish you Were Here” is a rich, roasty oatmeal stout with notes of chocolate and coffee. The names of the beers are meant to either accurately reflect the taste of the beer, such as the “Something Tropical” Pina Colada IPA, or to evoke a feeling such as the snow day nostalgia inducing, “Early Dismissal” winter lager, adding a layer of complexity to these well-crafted beverages. If beer is not your brew of choice, there are other local options to fill your glass, including Levengood’s ciders and Grandview Vineyard wines. For a nonalcoholic pick me up, customers can even order a Nitro Cold Brew Coffee or Kombucha from Purple Butterfly in Lititz. Beer goes best with a bite to eat, and Our Town Brewery has crafted a simple yet satisfying menu that pairs well with their beer while not competing with its intricate flavors. The pizza menu includes classic cheese and pepperoni, while venturing into ingredients such as wild mushrooms and ricotta, or smoked ham, apple, and onion. They even have vegan cheese pizzas. The “Dutch Platter” is an ode to the region, pairing York City Soft Pretzels with muenster cheese, ring bologna, and house made pickles and mustard. Weekly events will continue to fill the calendar to keep things fresh and interesting for their regulars or provide a new customer with an even more engaging evening. Walk in on a Wednesday night, and find yourself immersed in their 1950’s themed event, featuring 50’s music, smash burgers, and a rotating milkshake stout. Additionally, visit for Sunday brunch, and your meal will be accompanied by live music from 10am-12pm. As Our Town Brewery continues to grow and evolve, their mission will remain the same. Tarves and Patz have achieved what they set out to do over a decade ago by providing a space for everyone; whether you’re an out-of-towner driving in for a quick visit, a Townie, or somewhere in between.

HOME OFFICE

INNOVATION BY SAMANTHA QUISGARD

2020 was the year of working from home so it’s no surprise having an at-home office quickly made it to the top of many renovation wish lists. Whether you’re looking to change up your current at-home office or just now breaking ground, we gathered some inspiration and practical tips from some of the region’s top interior designers. After all, who ever said practical couldn’t be stylish?

The built-in cabinetry creates ample storage behind doors to avoid clutter, while providing plenty of open shelving to show family photos and fun décor.

The built-in window seat gives a great place to hang out and read when looking for a quiet getaway.

This built-in bookcase is the perfect height for keeping children’s books organized and neat.

EXCEL REMODELING The primary computer for this space is a laptop, but the space could accommodate multiple screens if desired. We included plenty of USB outlets above the desktop for charging electronics.

DESIGNER: JIM MIRANDO

The space is used as a home office and also a sitting/reading room. The room can serve multiple functions, and is an enjoyable place to spend time. The room is bright and inviting, taking advantage of the large windows bringing in natural light. Previously, this office space was dark and cluttered, only used as a work room with the doors usually closed. With its proximity to the foyer, it’s wonderful to keep the doors open, inviting guests to come visit and enjoy the sitting room. Of course, when you need privacy you can still close the doors.

Although most file storage needs are digital, we did include a file cabinet for paper file storage tucked inside beautiful built-ins. Wall mounted reading lights are at just the right height if you want some extra light on the page.

Consider adding sound-deadening insulation to avoid outside interference. A number of manufactures are now offering specialty wallcoverings designed with felted construction to improve acoustics and limit unwanted sound interruptions.

Neutral tones are a perennial favorite for their calming effect while bold, saturated colors can be fun and energetic, but can become over-stimulating if used with abandon. Consider tempering strong color with complimentary neutrals or limiting their use to accents.

DAVID LYALL HOME & DESIGN DESIGNER: DAVID LYALL

This project started with an existing freestanding outbuilding on the client’s property with which David was tasked to transform into a customized and well-appointed office. Upgrades included the addition of windows and French doors to maximize natural light. New LVP flooring (easy clean-up for a dog that occupies the office with him during the workday), custom-made built-ins, new paint, commercial quality rugs, custom furnishings, and updated lighting. In addition to a need for physical comfort and function, I’ve noticed that with Zoom and the explosion of virtual meetings, my clients are asking that the backdrop or surroundings of their new home workspaces (what is seen behind them on the screen) be designed to reflect their personal interests and express who they are. In the home office photographed, the client loves the outdoors and has a passion for visiting national parks throughout the country. He reported that the collection of framed vintage park posters that were selected for his space (and specifically those within view on screen) have sparked many conversations–an effective way to create that all-important personal element of connection during meetings.

Custom built-ins with shelf space for books and personal mementos help keep things neat and organized.

Consider downtime. Including a sofa or chair allows you to periodically step away and take a break. Soft, upholstered furnishing also helps to absorb sound.

The introduction of a sleek leather or upholstered ottoman provides an opportunity to put your legs up, stretch, and re-charge throughout the day.

FIT & FINISH DESIGNER: KIMBERLY BOOMER

It is easy to think or accept that setting up a home office in the corner of your house is sufficient, but with so much time spent in front of the computer, why not make it visually appealing and functional all at one time. After years in the basement, this family created a new gathering area by turning the unused dining room into the new home office. And, as a result, there’s a little bit for everyone in this new space.

A coordinating gray color was chosen as it transitions throughout the entire house.

The iconic LOVE artwork serves as the focal point as a nod to this family’s hometown of Philadelphia.

A smaller desk was added in the corner for the children to do their homework, and a storage ottoman doubles as the chair.

An area rug conceals the extension cord that provides power to the desk.

A two-drawer file cabinet was placed behind the desk and doubles as storage and a printer stand.

Furniture with an abundance of storage was chosen to keep things neat and tidy.

34

SUSQUEHANNA STYLE | MARCH 2021

A comfy lounge chair adds style and invites all family members to sit and chat.

Personalize your office with items like your favorite artwork, books, and nostalgic pieces to feel at home.

Take your office to the next level with intriguing lighting (such as a desk lamp or sconce) to make the room more inviting and provide extra light to ease your eyes.

Don’t be afraid to go bold with paint color! The deep saturation can make the room feel more intimate and help with focus.

Combine a variety of materials, such as wood, metal, and leather to create harmony throughout and to avoid a monotone feel.

Add sophistication and depth by adding a chair rail and painting the lower half a different color from above. Face your desk where you feel most comfortable. If you enjoy your beautiful view or need additional light, face the window.

VILLE + RUE

Use different heights of furniture to create multiple sight lines and visual interest.

DESIGNER: REBECCA ADDINGTON The owners were looking to renovate their bleak and lifeless spare room into a home office after COVID forced them to work remotely. While their Lancaster City home had plenty of character and architectural detail throughout, the small office was unfortunately lacking. They wanted to keep the style minimalistic and somewhat masculine (for the main user), but not boring or cold. We knew the first step needed to be a vibrant paint color, and we provided renderings to show what different paint colors would look like. The client needed plenty of space to write and hold a desktop, so we used a mixed material desk of iron, oak, and brass, with plenty of drawers for storage. To balance the space visually, we added a tall bookcase on the opposite corner of the room, showcasing books and decor to help the space feel full without being crowded. We finished the space by adding texture and warmth with unique lighting, a faux cowhide rug, and decor to add the right amount of personalization without feeling cluttered.

Always add a rug to anchor the space and provide texture and warmth. In this instance, we added a faux cowhide rug for intrigue and easy maintenance.

THROUGH THE SEASONS BY M. DIANE MCCORMICK

Spring, summer, fall, winter—garden delights are always in season. Take these tips from area garden centers, and your yard will shine year-round.

THINK SPRING

Plan before you plant, and you won’t blow the budget on every whim at the garden center. Grab a shovel, and check the soil. Does it look pale and dry, or dark and rich? Soil conditioners can help add nutrients to depleted dirt. Plant new trees and shrubs in March as soon as the ground starts thawing. For pops of early spring color, plant pansies in March and petunias and snapdragons in April.

PRO-TIP Cut back some perennials, such as asters and daylilies, but not the spring bloomers like forsythia and lilac.

Start cool-weather veggies in early spring. In a few weeks, you’ll have lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, spinach, and even strawberries. Plant perennials to spruce up a flower bed, and save money in the long run.

36

SUSQUEHANNA STYLE | MARCH 2021

PRO-TIP Hostas are easy-care favorites, and everyone loves the purple flowers of creeping phlox.

Leap into Summer Water-wise, get to know your shrubs and perennials. Some need lots of water in high heat. Others don’t. Water containers once or twice a day. Even with pre-fertilized soil, fertilize plants and containers regularly after a few weeks. Convenient time-release fertilizers add nutrients every time you water.

PRO-TIP If soil feels moist, leave it alone. When it needs water, quench the whole root system with a good soaking. Underwatering leaves thirsty roots to wither.

Container plants looking top-heavy or drying up quickly? They might be rootbound. Consider repotting into larger containers. Watch for signs of pest infestation. It’s easier to control a few aphids than a full-blown outbreak. For an abundant fall harvest, plant a new crop of cool-weather veggies in July.

PRO-TIP As organic gardening soars in popularity, more naturally based pesticides are becoming available.

Maintenance meter Easy and breezy, or fussy and mussy? Our maintenance meter ranks 7 favorite plants from easy-care to garden divas. Crepe Myrtle

Supertunia Petunia

Nonstop flowers and no deadheading. Great for containers, and oh, the colors!

EASY

Lenten Rose

A delicate perennial that loves those bothersome part-shade areas.

Creeping Phlox

Cheery groundcover perennial that’s happygo-lucky in a sunny, well-drained spot.

Gerbera Daisy

Deadheading needed, but perky summer blooms are great for cut flowers.

Drought-tolerant and brilliantly colored– who doesn’t love a crepe myrtle? Just be sure to right-size the plant to the space, and prune with a light hand. After all, you don’t want to be guilty of crepe murder.

Hibiscus

Lots of sun and space needed. Showstopping blooms take your breath away, but prepare for heartbreak when that fat-bottomed groundhog has an overnight feast.

Dahlias

So pretty, but prone to mildew, blight, and rot. Attractive to aphids, too, and could need to be staked as they grow.

Fall for Autumn Fall is the forgotten season for planting trees, shrubs, perennials, and evergreens. It’s less care, because rainwater doesn’t dissipate quickly in the cooler temps. Plus, winter gives plants time to establish their roots. Trim back perennials. Clean the ground around plants that are susceptible to disease, such as roses and grapes. Take out tomatoes and compost the soil for a clean, fresh start next year. Harvest fall veggies for garden-totable goodness. While veggies must be picked quickly in summer, autumn’s cooler temperatures lengthen the harvesting window.

PRO-TIP It’s okay to mulch any time of year, but don’t fertilize new plantings in the fall. Wait until spring to avoid pushing tender growth as the weather starts to cool.

PRO-TIP Another advantage to native plants–fallen leaves can stay on the ground, providing winter shelter for wildlife.

Your area garden center is stocked with local plants and friendly people, and their websites are full of info. Our thanks to the pros from these garden centers for their tips:

WINTER DREAMS PRO-TIP

Curl up with a gardening magazine and dream. Consult the experts at your local gardening center or Penn State Extension, extension.psu.edu, for tips and questions.

See an enticing new tomato or intriguing petunia? Order seeds early, because the newest plants sell out fast.

Plan a native-plants area. Native plants are less care for you and friendlier for bees, butterflies, and wildlife. Start your seeds. It’s easier than you think, and it saves tons of money. Visit your local garden center for help with starter kits, grow lights, and heat mats.

PRO-TIP Seedlings should appear just before they’re ready for planting. Find timelines on seed packets and in online calendars.

Want natural, DIY fertilizer? Learn to compost.

PLAN LIKE A PRO Choose deer-and groundhog-resistant choices, but remember: “resistant” doesn’t mean that hungry critters will turn down a backyard buffet.

Don’t shy from shade. Add color with bleeding hearts, hostas, and coral bells. Create a striping effect with different tones of shade-tolerant grasses and gorgeous foliage.

Fall blooming perennials present a burst of autumn color, and pollinators will thank you for the last fill-up before winter.

Choose plants suitable for your USDA Hardiness Zone. Find your zone and a planting calendar at the National Garden Association’s garden.org.

If you have small children or pets, research plants for toxicity as well as water and soil needs.

HELPING YOU CREATE A HOME YOU LOVE Comfortable. Functional. Beautiful. Affordable. That’s how we describe the perfect home, and for over 50 years GR Mitchell has been helping homes across the Susquehanna Valley embody those attributes. And as many of us continue to spend more time at home, loving the space you’re in has never been more important, leading to a strong demand for remodels. Kitchens and baths are still a major focus, a demand easily met by GR Mitchell’s showrooms in York and Lancaster. Each location features designers who can bring your vision to life, a simple process for selecting the products you’ll need, and access to installers who bring it all together. With 8 lines of cabinetry available plus numerous countertop and hardware displays, the options range from budget to fully custom. “We’ve received a good bit of interest from homeowners hoping to reallocate unused vacation funds from the past year into their home,” explains Bob Good, Lead Designer, “particularly for bath remodels that make a big impact in your home with a lower investment.” Good further explained that as spring approaches, he anticipates more attention on smaller redesign projects (think bathrooms, laundry spaces, bars) encouraged by anticipated tax returns. But to make remodels more accessible for those without the upfront cost, GR Mitchell has also introduced in-house financing that covers everything from the cabinetry that will ground your kitchen design, to windows that can complete your upgraded look.
