Nazareth Area Garden Club Announces July meeting Program

Submitted by SANDEE RINEHART

The Nazareth Area Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 18 at 7 p.m. at Dryland UCC, 4415 Newburg Rd., Nazareth.

Last month’s speaker was Gerard Touhey, who took the club for a picture tour of his water gardens. The club was also lucky enough to visit his home in Easton on Saturday, June 24 for an inperson tour.

The program this month will be presented by one of the club’s advanced designers, Phoebe Cubberly, who will speak about how to dry plant material and tips on using them in a variety of ways. The club will be doing dried flower entries at its annual show on September 8 and 9.

At the upcoming July meeting, club members will display many plant specimens including marigolds, zinnias and petunias. Native plants, blooming shrubs and a succulent garden will also be featured. This month’s floral arrangements are a modern arrangement called “Boom” and stretch arrangement called “Snack Attack.” As always, an arrangement of the designer’s choice will be displayed but not judged.

Refreshments will be served.

Visitors are always welcome to attend club meetings.
