5 Common Places Ticks Hide On Dogs 1. Under the collar Since dogs’ collars aren’t usually removed, it’s possible for a tick to make a little home here. Make sure to remove your dog’s collar from time to time to inspect. 2. “Private” areas Near your dog’s genitals and perianal area tend to stay warm, making them a popular spot for ticks to latch on. 3. Inside of ears If you notice your dog scratching at its ears, ticks could be the cause. All the little crevices inside of an ear make it a popular spot for ticks to hang on. 4. Between toes Spots between the toes are cozy and hard to see, making it a perfect place for a tick to set up camp. 5. Near the eyelids Is it a skin tag or a tick around your dog's eyes? It can be difficult to tell. If you’re unsure, it’s best to consult with a professional.

Bearded Dragons For Beginners everythingreptiles.com/bearded-dragon
The Bearded Dragon is a friendly lizard that can be welcomed into any home and is fantastic for beginners due to their docility and ability to adapt to captivity. Affectionately known as Beardies, in the wild they are commonly found living in trees and on the ground in Australia and are known for their mouth-wide-open “smiles” (which is actually a way to help them cool down)! Relatively easy to care for, they enjoy eating leafy vegetables and insects. In captivity, you will either see them enjoying the shade or basking themselves in the light. They are very tolerant of handling and are one of the most popular reptile companions. A large, semi-arboreal native lizard of Australia, these guys spend their time dwelling partially in the trees and on the ground. Including their tail, they grow to about 15-20 inches long and have spines on either side of their body that run to the base of their tail. Unlike some lizards, they aren’t nocturnal so are active during the day. They have a relatively easy-care requirements; they need: A UVB lamp and an infrared lamp for basking A mixed diet of insects and leafy vegetables A glass cage measuring 36ft³ Lighting and heating
A diurnal lizard, they are awake and active during the daytime. They should get 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. There should be distinct climates in the tank, a basking side and a “cool” side. As a hatchling (less than 2 months old), they will eat 2-3 times a day. This diet should consist of 30% vegetables and 70% small crickets. The protein in a dragon’s diet can consist of crickets, superworms, or even a pinky mouse. In all life-stages they should eat the following vegetables: Dandelions, romaine lettuce, beet tops, leafy greens, carrots, squash and zucchini. In their adult stage, a Bearded Dragon should be fed daily. This should consist of mostly crickets and lots of green vegetables. Bathing your dragon is not an absolute requirement, but soaking them in lukewarm water 2-3 times per week will help them defecate. When they shed, they do so in several pieces over a couple days. Frequency of shedding depends on diet and time of year. You should never pick them up by the tail, as the tail can fall off, but will not regenerate. Beardies live for between 7 and 12 years in captivity. They are relatively healthy lizards and most if any health issues arise from improper husbandry.

De-skunking Your Dog humanesociety.org/resources/de-skunking-your-dog
Step 1: Keep your dog outside You'll probably want to keep your dog outside while you gather the following ingredients so they don't carry the smell indoors. Check their eyes; if they're irritated or red, immediately flush them with cool water. Step 2: Mix the following ingredients 1 quart of 3-percent hydrogen peroxide (available at any pharmacy) 1/4 cup baking soda 1 teaspoon liquid dishwashing soap Wearing rubber gloves, wash your dog with this solution immediately after they've been sprayed. Do not get the solution in their eyes. (If you don't have peroxide, baking soda, and liquid soap on hand, use vinegar diluted with water.) Caution: Do not store this mixture or make it ahead of time, as the mixture could explode if left in a bottle. Step 3: Clean and rinse Rub the mixture through their fur, but don't leave it on too long (peroxide can bleach fur). Rinse them thoroughly. Step 4: Shampoo Next, wash your dog with pet shampoo and rinse thoroughly. By now, they should be de-skunked and smelling sweet. Thoroughly towel-dry your dog, and be

sure to place them in a warm, sunny room for the next couple of hours so that they don't get chilled. Owner cleanup If your dog rubbed some of the stink onto you, you can rid your clothes of the smell by using regular laundry detergent mixed with a half-cup of baking soda.

Why Does My Cat Do That? Behaviors Explained Cuteness.com
Why does my cat go to other houses sometimes? This is no accident. Sometimes, it's a sense of wanderlust that keeps cats traveling a lot. Sometimes, they're leaving home because they're anxious and need some time away. Other times, it's part of the daily patrol of their territory. Cats are thorough in their actions and constantly alert. They want to make sure all of their nearby environments are safe. Why does my cat follow me to the bathroom? Cats are naturally curious, so they're bound to follow you just about anywhere, but especially anywhere that seems private. Cats also learn really quickly that you're a captive audience when you're on the toilet and, well, they like having your full attention. More than that, though, your cat might be trying to feel safe. Cats are predators, but they are also prey, and they are aware of that. Since you are a source of safety and comfort, they might feel less safe when you're behind closed doors, and prefer to accompany you to the bathroom. Why does my cat sleep in the sink? One reason might be that your cat wants to be a part of your daily rituals. Cats learn our routines and if yours involves going to the bathroom in the morning, your cat may just be trying to position himself close to you. It's also a temperature thing. Cats regulate their body
temperature by sleeping next to cool or warm surfaces. Not only is your porcelain or ceramic bound to cool down a cat's core temperature, sinks are also a great round shape that mold well to your kitty's curled positions. Why does my cat sleep on my face? On the one hand, your face is a warm, cozy place where your cat feels safe. It's also a great chance for your cat to mark you with his scent and let all other cats in the world know that you are spoken for. This could also be a sign that you're not meeting your cat's needs. If snuggling on or around your neck and face isn't your cat's routine nighttime behavior, you might be neglecting some of his routine care. Your cat might be standing on your face because it's the only way to get your attention. Why does my cat knead? Kittens knead on their mothers during suckling — an action thought to facilitate milk flow. Indeed, some adult cats also suckle the object that they're kneading (blanket, pillow, etc), oftentimes purring loudly and working themselves into a seemingly blissful, zen-like state. Cats also knead to leave their scent behind and to make a place comfortable to sleep. If you have a female cat, you might also notice that she kneads a lot before going into heat — it's a way to signal to male cats that she's ready for their advances.

Did You Know? Outwardhound.com
Dogs can learn over 1,000 words. Dog yawns are as contagious as people yawns. Paul McCartney added a frequency only dogs can hear to the end of the Beatles song “A Day in the Life.” A one-year-old dog can be as mature physically as a 15-year old human. Fish sleep! Since they do not have eyelids, they sleep with their eyes wide open. They typically will rest towards the bottom of the bed of water they inhabit. Fish do not lie down. Dogs can tell time better than we think – they have an internal clock just like us. Soft rock and reggae music are most positively associated with relaxed behaviors in dogs. Dogs can taste salty, sour, sweet, and bitter, though they only have 1/6 the number of taste buds humans do. Snakes have five forms of locomotion. Newfoundlands are great swimmers because of their webbed feet and long toes. They have the longest toes of all the dog breeds. A group of ferrets is called a business. Cats spend approximately 50% of their waking hours grooming themselves. Cats have 32 muscles in each ear. 75% of pet owners celebrate their dog’s birthday. Cats have over 100 vocal sounds, while dogs only have about 10.
Rabbit teeth never stop growing; tough plant food helps to wear them down. After reaching maturity, cats only meow to communicate with humans; normally, only kittens meow to other cats. A cat’s memory can last as long as 16 hours—exceeding even that of monkeys and orangutans. When threatened, ferrets will dance. Cats sleep for around 70% of their lives which can be up to 16 hours a day. All puppies are born deaf. Though as they get older, they can hear four times better than humans can. Some fish can recognize their owner’s faces and have a conscious understanding of their surroundings.
