Something Blue Marla Marx shows how the Winter Blues don’t have to get us down.
Winter is here and with 2014 right around the corner. It’s no surprise new exciting color trends are emerging. Blue is growing in popularity and is next year’s color of the year “Dazzling Blue” no wonder brides want this “color of trust” to be part of their wedding. A Winter Wonderland theme makes for an unforgettable wedding. With Christmas and New Year’s approaching this time of year, it provides a whole frame work to incorporate an enduring romantic time period for the couple.
Postscripts Brides love the color of Midnight Blue and paired with white makes it stunning. Even men are wearing dark blue for their tux choice making it the “new black this season.
Blending in with other shades of blue, such as, cobalt, Navy, Royal blue gives a beautiful blend of color. Different shades of the same color are popular and add depth.
The winter bride tends to wear heavier material due to the colder weather and because of this they will choose longer sleeves, more lace, and even coats to match. The fuller skirt is back with formal white gloves which gives a Cinderella fairytale feel to the season of white snow. The bride wants a classic look that will last the years as fashion changes her wedding pictures remain beautiful and not aged dated. This should not be too surprising with Kate Middleton wedding dressing with her long lace sleeves and soft following full skirt. The jacket added to the bride and her bridesmaid not only looks formal but is more season true with the colder weather.
A blue winter this year will make for the perfect time enduring color to bring into your wedding and start the New Year off with a toast of forever trusting love. Check out our next issue where we will be going over all of Pantone’s colors for 2014

Making a lasting first impression that will help friends and family remember your upcoming event is important. Knowing that your invitation has been created to be uniquely yours and yet is still affordable makes it even better! Nuka (Demain) Wolfstein, Dreamscape Wedding Design owner, brings just that to Second Life!
Taking pride in customizations and no fuss, excellent customer service, Nuka has been in the wedding business since she was only five months old in SL. Starting completely without intent, she was snagged into filling in as the officiant of a wedding ceremony with only an hour notice and it kept growing from then. Nuka went from helping with weddings, to building invitations and dĂŠcor, and creating certificates.
As you might expect, Nuka didn’t stop there. The business focuses on the needs of clients for all occasions such as birth, adoption, birthdays and weddings. She creates florals, podiums, greeting cards, thank you cards, guest books, cake tables, gazebos, and butterfly cages! She has even built a memorial for a couple who lost a very dear friend. Because she loves to help couples create their perfect wedding, we asked her about the most interesting invitation she has created. Nuka responds, “I was asked to create for a bride that, eventually, ended up being about 10 meters long, complete with 3 meter long unicorns at both ends and multiple heart particle emitters. The bride was very happy :)” This is one creator that truly has seen it all! For a business owner who feels the best thing you can do is to enjoy what you love best, it shouldn’t surprise you that she also says the most rewarding part of the business is when a client says “thank you, I love it.” Our spotlight business of the month, Dreamscape Wedding Design, is one you will want to add to your check list when thinking of your upcoming special events. Join us for the Second Life Wedding of
Samantha Grey & Josiah Xander
Article written by Netera Lander Photos provided by Everlasting Moments
Josiah Xander and Samantha Grey selected The Twilight Garden for their Second Life wedding ceremony. The intimate setting, adorned with white willows and wisteria was modeled after the wedding of Bella and Edward in the Twilight Films. A stone pathway led to the altar. Handmade wooden benches with beige or lavender seats awaited loved ones. The couple desired a beautiful, romantic setting that suited their ceremony and Everlasting Moments Wedding Coordination provided it for them. “They had their colors in mind right from the beginning: royal purple and gold,” explained Amaya Scarbridge-Diavolo, coordinator for their wedding, during the dress rehearsal. “They fell in love with the venue right away. We create a custom landscape for the client specific to their theme. And the bride and groom are part of the process.” Amaya and Rea Scarbridge-Diavolo guided Josiah and Samantha through each step of the ceremony so their event would run smoothly. They discussed the exchange of rings and the four types of kisses to choose from and the handfasting element of the ceremony. Loving comments were made by their role-playing family, or clan, to be more specific, as poses were adjusted appropriately. After the cues for every stage of the ceremony, an awaiting carriage would take the newly-wedded couple to their reception a short distance from the altar.
Mariposa serraBella took family pictures and amaya and rea discussed the first dance. samantha choose the waltz and all agreed it was a great choice. they then went over the different elements of the reception, everything from the tossing of the garter and the cutting of the wedding cake.
They chose Everlasting Moments after doing a search for wedding planners. “I teleported to several places, but what drew me in was the fact that they were willing to create this (setting) at my sim,” said Samantha. “But we started talking with Amaya and Rhea and decided to have it here (in Everlasting’s sim). I loved how the store looked and how elegant and professional their presentation was compared to others,” she explained, as we sat at one of the dining tables. After the consultation and viewing of the wedding and reception area, Josiah and Samantha booked their event. Samantha said they have done an amazing job, more than she could have imagined. “Amaya knew what our color palate was,” said Samantha. “She used her creativity to create what we see tonight.”
The reception area was larger than most venues. A patterned dance floor and nicely arranged tables were prepared, along with all the necessar y props that make a wedding a wonder ful affair. “The ceremony will probably be about 30 minutes, with the processional and photos about an hour,” said Amaya. “Then there’s the two-hour reception.” Everlasting Moments, which is owned by Rea Scarbridge-Diavalo, prides itself on being original and sees to it that each wedding is unique and what the couple desires. For example, they can choose a grand cathedral, medieval sanctuar y or a cozy countr y chapel. The staff assists in planning and conducting weddings or other special events, such as engagement parties or baby showers. Everlasting Moments is currently booked through Dec. 21. There are fifteen employees: coordinators, DJs, photographers, landscapers and builders. “Rhea is amazing,” said Amaya. “ Ver y hands on, but trusts her staff to do what they do best.” Amaya added that the company is diverse and is open to what the couple would love included for their wedding day.
