THE STORY SO FAR: Having located Mimir’s Well of Knowledge at last, Thor gave up one of his eyes as a pledge and drank deeply of the last of the Well’s water. From that draught, he has learned that the Gods are dead and he is indeed the last surviving Aesir. Replacing his missing orb with the eye left behind by Father Odin at the bottom of the well, Thor uses it to guide him as he seeks to return home to Asgard. Far away, the Black Elf, Regn, and his daughter, Drifa, stand at the edge of the world above the ruins of the fortress where Regn’s wife, Brynja, the assassin, died trying to kill Thor. And elsewhere, there is a growing awareness that something new and dangerous is loose in the Dusk Lands.
