The stories were serialized, generally two to three pages at a time, in two hundred fifty-seven weekly magazines spanning five years and thirty-seven storylines. These extremely rare comics have never been published in the United States. “The first book is a marvelously oddball artifact of Trek lore. The stories themselves are similar to what Gold Key was publishing in America—that is to say, cheesy and clunky but charming nonetheless. The difference, though, is that the UK strips are flat-out gorgeous, especially the earlier ones, which feature uncanny likenesses, kinetic layouts and saturated watercolor hues. The art alone makes this book worth the list price.” — Dan Greenfield, 13th Dimension “The first volume of Star Trek: The Classic UK Comics is an absolute gem of a book—and top marks to all those involved in getting it together editorially.” —John Freeman, downthetubes
