The 2014 Colton Relay For Life on Saturday and Sunday May 17 and 18 at Colton High School drew about 6,000 people and raised over $111,000 for cancer research. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event, which has become almost iconic in Colton and draws participants from many other cities, too.

fundraising and memorial event hosted that honors loved ones who have died of cancer and raises funds for continued research in the battle against the disease. The event is sponsored by the American Cancer Association.

ARMC Will Host Weekly Farmers Market
s part of its ongoing commitment to health and wellness, ARMC is hosting a weekly farmers market featuring fresh locally-grown produce, artisan breads and other specialty items. The one-year agreement with the Southland Farmers’ Market Association (SFMA) to operate the farmers market at ARMC was recently approved by the County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors. More than 60 percent of adults in the County of San Bernardino are overweight or obese, and implementation of the farmers market will help promote a healthier community. Golfers needed for scholarship fundraiser
S
pots are available for golfers looking for a fun day in support of scholarships for students of the Colton Joint Unified School District. The APPLE Scholarship Foundation will hold its 9th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 31 at Shandin Hills Golf Club in San Bernardino. A dedicated group of district employees started the foundation with the goal of helping graduates of CJUSD and the children of employees pursue their dreams of further education. Since its first scholarship awards in 2002, it has awarded over $272,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors. The tournament is scheduled for a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Registration is $80 for a single golfer or $300 for a foursome. Entry includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and the awards luncheon. All proceeds fund scholarships for district students.
