om Fontanes remembers fondly growing up in a Puerto Rican family from the Bronx, New York in the 1950’s and 60’s. As a young man, he
recalls drawing on holy cards during craft time at his local church and participating in the vintage “Draw Me” contests that awarded students with art scholarships . “I’ve always done art,” he said. “Acrylic, oil, mixed media collages. It’s been my passion.”
