an Bernardino Valley College Football was presented with the Terry Schukart Trophy and they will also celebrate their 88th Homecoming game and Sophomore Night this Saturday versus Compton College with kick off scheduled for 6 p.m. The Terry Schukart Trophy was presented to SBVC Football head coach John Shipp on October 27th for his team’s 45-23 victory over College of the Desert. The Schukart Trophy is awarded to the winner of the SBVC-COD football game, which at one time was an annual event, but neither team has faced one another since 2009. The trophy game started in the fall of 2002 by former SBVC Athletic Director Terry Schukart, who had been hired by College of the Desert as their Athletic Director in that year. Since 2002, SBVC has held the trophy three times, its inaugural year of 2002, 2006 and 2014.
