11. Officials are inviting the community for a day of activities at Fire Station 201, 131 S. Willow Ave, which include a pancake breakfast, raffle prizes, obstacle courses, music and plenty more. As part of this year’s theme, “Working smoke alarms save lives: Test yours monthly,” firefighters will be offering tips and information on how to properly test smoke alarms. Admission is free and runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Summit set Oct. 18

Rialto Unified he School District in partnership with the Curtis T. Winton Parent Institute will host the 6th annual Parent Summit Oct. 18. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Carter High School, 2630 North Linden Avenue. To kick off the event, a pep rally will take place along with a Principal’s Parade, and parents will have access to free workshops and community resource booths. Included in the event will be a KidZone area available to children ages 5 to 12. Registration is required. KidZone is available from 8 to 8:50 a.m. A continental breakfast will be provided to participants. Admission to the event is free but registration is required to participate.
