Trapp Elementary School is buzzing about Ricardo Gonzalez as he competes in a National contest! The third-grade student is a finalist in the SC Johnson Professional “Happy Hands” contest for his hand soap/sanitizer dispenser design, which he is holding in his hand. Trapp Timberwolves staff has placed signs encouraging everyone to vote across campus. Vote for Gonzalez’s design, only online, at https://tinyurl.com/Vote4Ricardo, once per day until February 28, 2022.
Gonzalez, a student in teacher Shirley Lee’s class, is a finalist in the SC Johnson Professional’s “Happy Hands Contest” in the Kindergarten through 5th Grade category. The public can vote for their favorite designs, only online, at https://tinyurl.com/Vote4Ricardo once per day until February 28, 2022. Although it takes a couple of minutes to vote, according to school officials, the push is to get Gonzalez to win the grand prize. Contest, cont. next pg.
Milor High School ear ns Model Continuation School State Recognition
he Rialto Unified School District’s Dr. John H. Milor High School is one of 36 schools in the State of California to earn the prestigious Model Continuation High School (MCHS) recognition for the 2022 school year. The honor, which was announced by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, celebrates excellence at continuation high schools across California. Continuation high schools serve about 78,000 students at 430 high schools across the State. As the good news spread across the campus, Milor High School Principal Dr. Kyla Griffin said staff was extremely pleased to earn the recognition after an indepth application process. The Rialto Unified School District’s Dr. John H. Milor High School recently earned the prestigious Model Continuation High School (MCHS) recognition, one of just 36 schools across California to earn the honor. Milor High School Principal Dr. Kyla Griffin and staff helped Milor HS earn the honor through a comprehensive application process. On a recent afternoon on campus, Dr. Griffin, left, gave a fist bump of encouragement to Natalie Banda (center), 11th-grade student, alongside Jeffery Whisman (right), Milor HS Associated Student Body Coordinator and Social Science teacher.
