FOUNDATIONS OF DESIGN
This is one of the first projects I did during the subject “Foundations of design” during the first semester of my first year in IED.
The aim of the briefing was to build a creative lamp using “plakene” which is a plastic praised for its resilience to impact and corrosive substances and is an exceptionally strong and flexible material. It makes a great plastic sheet for a multitude of uses.
Our team named the lamp “TANGERINE”. It is a functional design reminiscent of “vintage” and even referring to the Bauhaus style.
A lamp of modern design but functional at the same time. This design can become a classic; in fact, it is modern but with “vintage” touches: it will not seem obsolete in the coming years, but will endure with the passage of time. of time.
We decided to opt for this design for its industrial look but at the same time refined, elegant and for its distinctive oval shapes.
In addition, we chose this design thinking of its mass production in the hypothetical case that it was manufactured. In that case, its production would be very easy, just like mounting the lamp; since it is simply a wooden structure composed of two circles and five petals; together with five petals and five more strips of plakene.
Creation of a handcrafted lamp prioritizing the use of “Plakene”, a translucent plastic.

GIO PONTI
ARCHITECT AND DESIGNER
THE FLOW OF THE SPACE.
This idea comes from the information provided by Gio Ponti and his interests.
The concept relates to the study of movement of people in the space and how shapes can interfere in it creating interesting paths around a house.
Ponti being a music lover made me think about sound waves and how much the feelings needs to be in harmony with the sound.
The flow of a space is often related with open spaces and with a connection between eachother. Sinuosity contributes to the aesthetic of the harmony that we see in natural objects and shapes. It means a balance and a beauty that is evolving, therefore, will be focusing on the relationship between the space and nature, in terms of visuals, textures, objects, colors and materials.
FROM PREMISE TO DWELLING
The aim of this renovation was to change the usage of an old Orthopedic dwelling to convert it in a living space on the ground floor of an apartment building in Barcelona.
GENERAL EXTERIOR (Before and after)
(CHANGE OF USE) 4
My task was to draw the existing plans, study new floor plan proposals and come up with the one that could benefit the space the most. Also learnt how a renovation works from inside, how furniture is built and how materials are applied to surfaces (floorings, coverings...).
The renovation took place from late December 2022 until the beginning of July 2023.

CHALLENGE:
Creation of a living space for an specific client (musicean) based on the combination of three modular volumes.
THIS COMPOSITION ALLOWS ME TO DO A WIDE AND OPEN FIRST FLOOR WHERE THE KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM, AND A SMALL BAR WILL BE LOCATED. A SECOND FLOOR DESTINED FOR THE BEDROOM AND A SMALL TERRACE WITH A SELF-SUFFICIENT ORCHARD. THE THIRD AND LAST FLOOR WILL BE ONLY DESTINED FOR THE WORK SPACE WITH ANOTHER PRIVATE TERRACE. ON TOP OF IT, DECIDED TO PUT SOLAR PANELS TO PROVIDE THE HOUSE AUTOCONSUME, HOT WATER, AND HEAT.
Renovation proposal of an existing apartment adapting it to the needs of a healthy living space.
During my first and second year in arts Baccalaureate, I developed a research work based on the shortages that were exposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which brought a confinement during the year 2020. As a society we started rethinking the model of the city and housing we live in, which in addition has made us all rethink the model of life, the city we live in, its buildings...

In conclusion, the following factors have been taken into account in housing renovation:
Make the most of the current solar orientation by better distributing the parts. Take advantage of the roof to install solar panels for self-supply of domestic hot water. Take advantage of the “greenhouse effect” at the entrance of the house in the entrance hall. Take advantage of the “thermal inertia” of the walls to make sunbathing more effective. The heating system shall be made by means of a pellet stove. A garden cistern has been reused to collect rainwater in a reservoir. The rooms have been distributed in order to get good “cross ventilation” as a method of cooling the house in winter and renewing the air every day. Natural and breathable materials have been used for wall coverings, ceilings and also furniture. The new electrical installations have been designed and distributed. The installation of telephone and wifi is planned to be wired

1st PROPOSAL: INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR
It is an outdoor space with a quadrangular structure supported by a wall and two concrete columns. The structure has a hole in the center that creates a play of lights and shadows that changes during the day.
2nd PROPOSAL: INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR
Inspired by one of his existing creations, wanted to separate a structure from the main building on the right which would be the pavilion. This is a distant plane in which the two spaces (exterior shown in the first proposal, interiors in the proposals interior 1 and 2).
DER ROHE HAD BEEN MADE BY JAMES TURRELL?
LIGHT INSTALLATION BY JAMES TURRELL AND A REFERENCE PICTURE OF HIM
As a continuation of the first interior space I decided to continue working the same color range this time including brown. In this space there is an installation with a light gradient on the right wall. wanted to adapt this space to the vision of James Turrell through an installation at the center of the wall with red tones that degrade to an orange and manage to change the white walls to such colours.
