About Me
Born in 2002 in Barcelona and with a huge desire to become an inventor, Pol started studying product design in IED Barcelona. Currently in his third year, he decided to go on an exchange to Rotterdam and follow his studies at WDKA, where he is based at the moment.
As an intern he would love to take part of a bigger team and collaborate in projects where he can be part of the creative journey, prototyping and elaborating final renders. My
His background in martial arts, photography and always keeping an eye on nature, makes his style really unique, bold and playable. He considers himself a really patient person and with great social skills.

Twist It
The idea was to create a hat which rises from a sheet of paper by twisting it. Imagine going to a concert or any other outdoors event and receiving this design in a flat envelope, allowing you to be covered from the sun for the day.
The cap comes pre-cut and the brim can be finished in multiple geometries by the user.
The design is meant to be ephemeral and biodegradable, therefore paper is the perfect choice.

Polarity
Inspired in the Chinese philosophy of the Yin-Yang concept, I created this opposite but interconnected chess pieces.
Yin and yang can be thought of as complementary forces that interact to form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the assembled parts.
This set of chess pieces is aimed to have half the amount of pieces. They are sliced in half and played separately, later on they can be sliced together to storage them in a compact way.

The mission
was redesigning a product for Wacaco, a brand focused on portable coffee makers for outdoor users. Soon I realised a flaw on one of their top selling product, the solution was redesigning the pumping system for a more pleasant experience.
This was one of my first experiences collaborating with a real brand, understanding their needs and adapting to their identity.
Each of the students from the class worked individually for 5 months and later on we presented our designs to the CEO of the brand, Cédric Gobber.

Target User
The target market of the coffee brand Wacaco typically includes urban professionals, travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, and coffee aficionados who value convenience, quality, and portability in their coffee experience.
1. Once the user starts pumping, the coffee starts flowing.

Which are the limits of food packaging?
Could I turn the package of an aliment into something further? Something playful, something that would pay tribute to the roots of that food?
This project was an entry for a design challenge by Verallia, one of the world’s largest producers of glass.

Oloid
The oloid is the geometry that is going to enclosure both movement and light in a portable lamp made for kids and sophisticated adults.
With this product I am looking to trigger curiosity within us, bringing kids and parents together through a moving experience.
Unlike most axial symmetric objects, while rolling on a flat surface, its center of mass performs a meander motion rather than a linear one. In each rolling cycle, the distance between the oloid’s center of mass and the rolling surface has two minima and two maxima.

The Art Of Movement
So much to see and learn when we observe a kid playing. Nothing of what they do it is planned, nothing is x,y,z. Everything is arbitrary, they are exploring what they are capable of doing with their bodies through simple exercises of pushing or pulling.
It is when we are kids that we are more free in terms of movement, no social or individual barriers have been stablished yet.
As we start growing up, we build boundaries around the way we move. Through a more rigid manner we narrow the possibilities of what the human body is capable of.

You have a very good prototype and a good visual material. The prototype is functional and give us an idea of the final effect of light we will have.
The overall results are very good! The use of simple lighting and the movements of it helps to create the desired mood and the different shots are quite interesting in terms of composition.
Really nice to see you interested in grasshopper. You have a lot of potential. Go ahead!

This is where all began. Back in July 2021, designed a backpack specially made for food delivery riders With this idea the Instituto Europeo di Design honoured me with a scholarship, where am studying product design at the moment.
For the Procarton cardboard packaging competition came across the idea of designing a unique envelope that would make the boring experience of receiving a credit card or any other kind of membership card much more interesting.
For the Verallia glass packaging competition designed a ja for olives inspired in the shape of the olive tree, while enhancing on the Mediterranean experience of eating olives while on gathering with friends or family.
HOBBIES
As a side hustle I create content for loca business, events and their socia media accounts.
From extreme sport competitions, to restaurants or product teaser videos.
Wacaco, know for their portable coffee makers needed a redesign within one of their products. Within the five months the intership asted, chose one of their products and proposed a redesigned of the inside mechanism to make the whole experience more comfortable for the user.
