In the northern seas, an annual challenge emerges as ships become trapped in ice, necessitating the assistance of icebreaker vessels for rescue. However, the limited availability of these icebreakers often prolongs the time it takes for ships to be freed.

Sollution

Drawing inspiration from the efficient hunting techniques of orca whales, which involve breaking through ice, a novel solu tion has been conceived

Sketches

The development of a compact drone. This drone, operated from the mother ship, aims to expedite ship rescues by swiftly navigating through icy waters and providing timely assistance.

Using surface tention to create a big wave for the purpouse of breaking ice

Due to the law of motion as the water is pushed up the water tends to push the orca back down, to balance out the forces, there is a spoiler at the bottom to push the water down

Brief

Creating a futuristic project slated for 2040, envisioning a two-wheel design propelled by hydrogen fuel.

Application

Exploring various innovative applications for H2 utilization, leveraging its flammable nature alongside its replaceable characteristics.

Sketches

Crafting a mountain excursion bike equipped with a retractable handlebar system. Additionally, integrating an H2 canister within the bike’s framework, seamlessly adaptable for powering a compact cooking appliance conveniently stored onboard.

Concept

Creating a high-performance GT car tailored for Iron Man, complete with specialized compartments to house his iconic suit securely during transit. Inspired by a pivotal moment in the second movie, where he faces a near-death experience while attempting to drive an F1 car in Monaco, this design prioritizes both functionality and safety to ensure Iron Man’s mobility matches his superhero status.

Concept

Incorporating the cutting-edge nano-technology showcased in the movies, I envisioned integrating Iron Man’s armor seamlessly into the design of the car. Utilizing nano-technology, the car’s body would feature discreet compartments housing the armor, which could swiftly deploy and assemble around Iron Man when needed. This innovative approach ensures both convenience and readiness for action, reflecting the dynamic spirit of Iron Man himself.

4 Project Monaco

Being tasked with designing a project for the NGO Open Arms was an opportunity to make a difference. We conceived an impactful art piece aimed at raising awareness about the plight of drowning refugees in the Mediterranean Sea. Witnessing our vision materialize into reality and having the chance to showcase it at the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show was an invaluable learning experience.

On the opening day of the Monaco Yacht Show, the Spanish NGO Open Arms United with yachting unveiled a limited edition of artworks to raise awareness for the humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean. An awareness campaign developed between the founders of Open Arms United with Yachting (OAUY), Barcelona-based artists and students of Istituto Europeo di Design (IED). In addition, Barcelona-based companies Waterproof Consulting and Schwalgien Yacht Design backed the OAUY event.
