UNISEX At the beginning of my experience in Diesel, I was asked to conduct a visual Research on the meaning of the word UNISEX, with no context restriction. So after some research on how the concept of unisex came to be in the world of fashion, I dived into a few specific videos. I specifically chose videos that represented the human body, but only communicating universal values, unisex traits. My theory is that in the chosen images, strenght, desire and sexuality are infact represented above the level of gender distinction, the message is strong enough to be recognized regardless of the gender attributes. Beacuse of that, from those images I draw lines and directions that I would later use to create a new concept for a unisex watch. Paint on printed paper Images: Still frames from Video

On the wall on the left is collected the full UNISEX Research, complete of fashion history as well as material and texture imputs. On the right there is a sample of synthesis, from image to concept, where the body is controlled, strong, perfect, almost like a sculpture.


BALANCING BACK This is a 3D Modelling video developed entirely in Blender for the course of System Design at the ISIA University in Rome. The concept behind it is very simple: in every transformation the shape has to go back and balance itself, this in a neverending process of self-development. The soundtrack was composed by myself and my very goodfriend Michele di Filippo, guitarist and composer.

SKIN SET

go with the flow Skin Set is an experimental research between the field of Product and Interactio Design. It is a physical texture, that consists in a series of morphological variations upon a surface. The actual variations are organized in different patterns, that answer to different problems. This solution is the fruit of consistent research in the field of water-sports that include equipment that relates to the entire body of the user, such as surfing, kitesrufing, rafting, cayaking, canooing and so on. For this reason the texture is designed to be applied on hardware equipment, wearable equipment and also directly on the skin. The original brief of the project was to interpret the concept of passage, transformation, in the water-sports context, and to develop a research that could be used by Mares company. LESS 77

Until the last drop LESS77 is a 1liter packaging for engine oil. It is designed for the occasional as well as for the frequent user that consumes more than one unit per day. The goal of the project is to have as little an environmental impact as possible, keeping consistency in resistency to impacts and usability. As suggested by the name, LESS77 is a sustainable packaging. Through an LCA Analysis I assessed that its impact is 33% of a regular engine oil packaging. SHAPESHIFTER Generative waking up

Shapeshifter represents a design speculation, the generative design of a car that follows nature’s rules, more specifically, animals' traits and characteristics. The video is a quick look into a holistic meta-process for automotive design. In this case the brief asked to choose and enhance a car function, or trait. I thought about micro-movements of the car, like that of a rearview mirror being opened, the story opened up from there.

a body negative The goal of the project was to experiment with shapes to create a model as if it was a negative part of the body. I was inspired by the shoulder blade, the line it creates with the spine, up to the neck. I immediately made a connection with the wing, with all of its iconography, from Raffaello to Gustave DorĂŠ. I was ispired to create this body-sculpture. It is an exploration of full and empty volumes, of the armony of the lines and curves that wrap and complete the body.

The PE model on the left was sculpted by hand, covered in plaster (the one usually use in automotive restauration), then sprayed and painted by hand. I chose to give Ala an unrefined look, painting it with a brush. I was inpired by the texture of of copper, as if the shape was scratched, already lived in.

Mapping and Navigation System leicht is a mapping and navigation system of the spatial environment. It is inspired by the way the human brain maps the space and orients itself. It is the design of a basic interface where the user moves through a map of places, generated by his own experience. Basic elements and interface functions are here explored in order to create an elementary language that could eventually be used on any device at any point in time.The aim of the system is to improve the memorization of the user, to eliminate the information overload and the dependance between the user and the system, bringing them to augment each other. MUN Museum of the Universe for INAF - National Institute for Astrophysics

The Museum of the Universe is the only Astronomy Museum in Rome (Italy), it is located on Monte Mario Hill, in the Villa of the National Institute for Astrophysics. The Museum needed a new Identity and a way to be recognized linnked to the other astronomic sites hidden all over the city. For this purpose we designed a new coordinated image and an interactive installation to be located in the Museum’s garden, which represented the astronomic sites in Rome. We also designed the MUN online application, which provides a map of the sites in the city, leading up to the Museum, where the collected experience comes to life through the light installation.
