Abstract: A variable-gain current-amplifier-based feedback transimpedance amplifier (CATIA) with a gain-insensitive bandwidth is analyzed and designed for gigabit-persecond optical wirelesscommunications. Implemented in 0.18CMOS, as the transimpedance gain varies from 55.8 to 69.3 , the 3-dB bandwidth of the CA-TIA remains relatively invariable around 1 GHz.a
